(OOC: Wow - I swear Felipe was talking with a Brit accent in the previous post! ) He drew her out onto the dance floor and - for some reason unknown to him - began mumbling in Portuguese. Whatever caused him to do that it seemed to soothe LizBeth so perhaps it wasn't such a bad thing after all. They continued to sway to the music but, as will all good things, it came to a far too soon end. They moved to one side when a far faster beat rang out. Felipe wasn't so keen on that sort of tempo and besides, the dance floor was starting to fill past the comfortable stage. "How about a walk ouside?" he invited. "It's a bit stuffy in here and its a really warm evening. What do you say? A stroll and then we can come back for the last few dances." Time was rapidly vanishing and already it wasn't that far from the end of their evening. That was the trouble when you were having a good time... it tended to evaporate. That said, Felipe wasn't 100% sure LizBeth's evening was going so swimmingly.

By the time the dance had finished, Liz felt better. Whether it had been the soft whispers, or the way he held her, or just Fefe himself..but she felt warm and comfortable, not cold and irritated as she had been only moments before. When the music changed to a faster song, they moved off the dance floor. Liz was fine with non slow songs, but Felipe was not, which was fine. She'd rather be in his arms then apart and on the dance floor longer anyway.
He spoke, asking her about a walk outside, suggesting one before coming in for the final few songs. She nodded in reply, sliding the glittering chain of her clutch around her wrist as they headed outside. The hotel had been near the beach, which was probably why it hadn't taken fefe longer then it had to speak to Abigail. Liz slipped an arm around his waist, leaning against him as they walked slowly along the sidewalk. The area where they were was no super crowded with other businesses, and it was relatively quiet for that time of night.
The stopped at a railing, overlooking the beach, facing the water. Liz moved, putting herself with her back to his chest, between his arms as he leaned against the railing, very similar to how they'd stood only nights ago on his balcony. "Thank you.." She spoke softly.

"Não se preocupe," he replied automatically... The second time in as many nights that he'd uttered those word but what was she thanking him for? Leaving her while he raced after Abby? Coming back instead of taking her home? It was hard to know but regardless 'no worries' covered it... right?
He peered over the railing and down at the sand, lips forming a tight line. Was he happy? He honestly wasn't sure how to answer that but being with LizBeth was a challenge. No doubt of that... Was it right, though?
...
...
He needed to think about that a bit more... But not tonight. Tonight was LizBeth's night and he was determined to make it a good one!

She shook her head. "No..I have to worry about it." She spoke softly. "I know I'm not easy to be with..I get that.." She admitted it quietly, but at least she was aware of it. "I get stupid and jealous and I hate it, and I'm sorry." She didn't look at him as she spoke. "I know that you were being a good friend to her, and I love that about you..that you're willing to have me upset in order to take care of them." Liz lexhaled, looking out at the water. "I'm gonna be better, no more getting upset about Abby, no matter what she does to provoke me. I trust you."
"I said thank you because you came back...I really wouldn't have blamed you if you hadn't..I've been pretty wicked the last few days..I just don't want to ruin this."

Felipe knew he was being a friend to Abby NO question of that. Friends came before anything and that included LizBeth's hurt feelings. Not that he'd intended to do that, of course. Nothing could be further from the truth. No way would he put Abby at the bottom of his list of priorities. Then again, LizBeth wasn't there either.
Talk about torn.
Felipe had to admit he wasn't sure where to go from here... Tonight had been most revealing. Did he stay with LizBeth? Or did he accept it wasn't to be... and move on?
Right now he honestly didn't know.
But, for the moemnt, they had a prom to finish.
He stared out over the water, lost in his thoughts. "Let's head back in," he said. Maybe another dance would help him work out what to do next.
(ack - I forgot I meant to add some more into this tag - I got side-tracked - seriously so!)

Liz didn't know the dark and troubling thoughts that were running through her boyfriend's head at the moment, so she just looked out over the water, lost in her own. She knew that she could be hard to deal with, she wasn't stupid, far from it. She just hoped that Felipe would find her worth his time and effort. She felt he was after all.
She nodded as Fefe suggested they head back into the hotel. A couple more slow dancces before the night was over sounded really lovely to her. She pushed back against the railing, nudging him gently with her hips, though there was just a slightly mischievous smile on her lips as she did so. "I hope she lets you know when she gets home" She asked softly, taking his hand as they began to walk back. She knew Felipe was concerned about his friend, he had every right to be.
They arrived back at the hotel, slipping quietly into the dance floor. "Come dance with me?" Liz asked softly, looking upa t Felipe. He nodded and she pulled him out to the dance floor, looping her arms back up around his neck, her fingers curling into the back of his dark hair.

The music continued and the pair moved gently to its beat. Around them a few other couples were also dancing but, for the most part, the floor was reasonably empty. Felipe rested his chin on the top of LizBeth's head, lost in thought... and unaware that they were about to collide with another couple.
An apology was exchanged and the other two moved on. French. The other boy had sounded distinctly French. He'd seen him around school, Felipe thought. Little did he know he'd just met Sari's impending sailing tutor, Christophe.
The song ended and Felipe glanced down at LizBeth. "I gather there's an ante room where we can take some food to eat. Would you like to do that?" he asked. "Maybe relax back and sit down for a while...?" It was, after all, still quite stuffy in the main room and taking a break sounded appealing right now!

Liz rested her head on his shoulder during the dance, feeling the pressure from his chin resting gently on the top of her hair. They accidentally knocked into another couple on the dance floor, and just hearing the French accent of the other boy had Liz wanting to toss out a comment, but she was not the same girl she used to be. The old Liz..would have done it in a heartbeat..not now though. She smiled softly as they moved away.
The eance ended, Fefe asking if she wanted to get something to eat and sit down for a bit. They had only just come back in from outside and a small break, but she nodded. "Sure."
They moved off and found the small ante room, which had a small buffet set up with some simple foods and desserts. They each took a small plate and drink and moved to sit on a small couch out of the way. Liz nibbled quietly on a small bite size bit of cheesecake, closing her eyes to savor the morsel.

While he knew they'd not long since taken a break Felipe was starting to feel as if a headache was forming. Probably that was because the air in the main room was thick and overly warm but also the evening had been veering towards stressing. First Abby leaving and then LizBeth being pissed about it. He knew she'd tried her best to hide it but this was Elizabeth Livingston. Of course she'd been annoyed.
They wandered into the side room, a plate apiece. Felipe wasn't hungry but as he'd made the suggestion that they take a break for something to eat he could hardly not pile at least a few items onto his dish. He'd push at it... drop a bit... It would look like he'd eaten.
The silence stretched out between them and Felipe wasn't all that positive it was a particularly easy one. "So... are you enjoying your prom?" he eventually asked. Something of a dumb question given he'd run off for a portion of it but he was honestly struggling to find something better to say.

The night had started out so well, and now, only a few hours later, things felt so..disconnected, and Liz was not liking it at all. This was supposed to be a special night, even with Abigail's involvement. She took a seat on the couch, setting her plate aside, not really wanting to snack on anything.
Liz toyed with a tendril of hair lightly, looking over when he asked if she was enjoying the evening. She licked her lower lip lightly before she answered. "I am..I just.." She paused. "Things started out really well tonight...dinner was fantastic..." She reached over and took his hand in her own, running her nails over his palm gently. "Things right now..they feel..we're both really tense right now..and I know you're feeling it too." Liz looked up at him, meeting his eyes with her own, her expression clearly apologetic. "I know it's my fault..and I'm sorry..so if you'd rather take me home and go do what you want to do for the night..I understand..or we can both leave..go find something to do that isn't this dance..a late movie or something?"
She hated that things felt so tight between them, like a piano cord wound so tight, it could break any any second. She let it be his choice, and she was going to be fine with either one, even if he took her own and went out alone.
