Felipe and LizBeth were well into the slow dance by now, his arms around her waist and hers draped over his shoulders, fingers playing with the back of his hair. He looked down at her and she smiled. The evening was going brilliantly so far!
The music came to an end and they moved off to one side of the dance floor, standing sclose together and chatting in general.
A body bumped intop him from behind and he glanced back to see who.... "Abby!" he greeted with a broad grin.
"Hey stud muffin..." Abby waved to Liz and Felipe made a mental note to ask LizBeth to translate Abby's opening words as he'd only understood the first one of the three! Knowing Abby she'd been teasing him, though.
"Wasn't sure if you get icy feet."
"Cold feet," Abby corrected.
"Ah... those too. Glad you didn't..." He looked at Abby's outfit in clear appreciatyion. "You look... fantastic!" he stated. It wouldn't be long before that queue was forming to ask her for a dance! "That colour looks great on you... doesn't it Liz?"

It was probably one of the best slow dances Liz had ever had the pleasure of finding herself in! It reminded her of the pair of them up in his room a few nights prior, moving to a sultry samba beat before his mother had called them down to dinner. Her fingers toyed with the silken strands of his dark hair, and she could feel the warmth of his hands along her bare back. He'd looked down at her, and she'd felt her heart flutter as it usually did when he turned those dark eyes onto her own. She'd given him one of her own heart melting smiles.
They moved off to the side, talking quietly to each other. A moment later found Abby bumping into Fefe from behind and greeting him. Well she greeted Liz as well, but it was less emotional and a single word. "HO Abby." Liz smiled, determined not to have anything ruim tonight. The cheerleader was a close friend to her Brazilian, and that was important to Liz herself. She considered Abby a friend as well. Liz didn't even have a problem with the other girl calling Felipe a stud muffin, which, by the look Fefe had given her, she might have to translate later on when they were alone.
Abby looked really great, the gown she had chosen worked really well with her features and skin. Liz nodded with a genuine smile. "You look amazing Abby, who's the designer?" She asked, curious to see if it was anyone she knew. Liz slipped an arm around Fefe's waist, leaning against him gently, her composure quite relaxed.
"Well...that didn't take too long.." Liz said softly, nodding her head over toward a group of young men standing around chatting to each other. They were definitely checking Abby out, and it could be seen in their faces that at least one of them were trying to muster up the courage to ask her to dance!
"Abby's got a few admirers!" She grinned.

Felipe glanced over at the group pf boys and grinned at Abby. "I had a feeling you would have boys eating out of your hand before long." In that dress how could she fail not to attract attention? That said, Abby was attractive enough to do that regardless of what she was wearing. "Do not look too eager," he whispered to Abby with a wink. "A hungry dog never strays far."
Abby jabbed his side for that less than pleasant comment and he straightened with a laugh. "You girls chat about designers and dresses while I go and get us some more to drink."
He unlaced his arm from liz's and set off towards the drink table. Avoid the punch. A foregone conclusion. It looked kind of... toxic anyway. "Three lemonades, please," he asked the girl behind the table and she handed them over. He thanked her and then turned back to look at his two companions... to find them encompassed by the group of boys they'd spotted moments ago. Felipe grinned to himself as he wound his way bacl to LizBeth and Abby.
Dark looks of jealousy were quickly cast in his direction... not the he either cared or took much notice.
A lemonade was handed to each of the girls and Felipe took a sip of his own. "Did I miss much?" he asked, vaguely away of the 'pack' retreating once more.

She looked down in false modesty and chuckled to herself. "Thanks, means a lot coming from you." Abby patted Felipe's cheeks before turning to Liz wih a well meaning smile. Even when she said Ho to her. She kept quiet about it and when Liz asked who the designer was for ther dress, Abby shrugged. "No label. I got it off the rack of some cheapo dress shop." Abby wasn't exactly the type to be genuinely modest but she wasn't about to flaunt it in front of the girl and her date.
And when Liz mentioned the boys looking over, Abby turned and waved her clutch at them before wrapping her arms around Felipe, kissing his cheeks a bit too long. It was all a show of course. For whom, Abby wasn't going to say.
At Felipe's comment about dogs, Abby couldn't help but elbow him good-naturedly into silence. "How crass, Brazilian." She said in a laughing tone. When he went away to get some drinks for the three of them, Abby turned to face Liz. "You look good yourself, Liz." Abby said, sounding genuine. Although she would have to also say that Liz would have done better covering more. To Abby, prom was formal. Showing too much was just...too much. There were so many others who were wearing simple and covered dresses that left most things to the imagination. But of course, for propriety's sake, she kept quiet.
Felipe came back and Abby took the lemonade offered and took a sip. "Thanks, Fel. No...not really, just girl talk."

Abby's kiss had taken him by susprise but he knew she'd done it to tease those boys. No doubt it had worked as well! He threw her a bemused grin when she backed away. She was bad... no doubt about that! He was still grinning as he headed over to the long table that was set against the far wall.
While he waited for their drinks Felipe looked around the room. Some of the clothes were pretty stunning and he had to wonder how much money had been spent in total. Liz's alone probably ost a small fortune and Abby's looked equally as expensive. The red one over there... That looked sinmilarly costly.... Shame her date had opted to wear pink... Talk about a clash.
Felipe had purposefully taken his time fetching their drinks, wanting LizBeth and Abby to have the time to chat a bit. He'd already asked Abby to give Liz another chance and - bless her for it - she'd agreed. Would LizBeth behave as well? Time would definitely tell. With Liz it was impossible to guess as he'd seen her both as gentle as a kitten and also as fiery as an attacking tiger.
So far it looked to be the kitten that had come out to play but it was still early yet!
"Girl talk?" Those dreaded words. No sane man would ask for details of any conversation that had taken that line. A can of worms came very much to mind!
"I feel a little out-numbered," he commented with a mock sigh of resignation. Oh, the hardship!

Liz was surprised to hear that Abby had chosen a dress with no label. It seemed odd, but she wouldn't press on it really. "That's too bad.' She commented. "The designer has a real good eye for cut and color..they've got a real flair for it, could have a future if they wanted to." She smiled. "I know several people that would wear something like that."
Liz didn't say a word at Abby's display of friendly affection on her boyfriend. She trusted Felipe, which meant she could trust Abby. It was all for show anyway, so she just smirked slightly. Fefe went to go get them another drink, leaving the girls alone.
"Thank you." Liz smiled over at the dark haired girl. Seeing as they had the chance to speak alone for a moment, Liz took it. "Abby..we never got off to the right foot 2 months ago.." She smiled sheepishly. "Felipe regards you very highly, and that's important to me..so I'd really like if we could be friends." For Liz to offer an olive branch like she was, honestly wanting a true friendship with the girl, it spoke a lot about her, and how much she had changed.
Liz took her glass from Felipe when he returned. "Thank you luv." She smiled, taking a small sip. she grinned over at him when he commented about feeling outnumbered. "Aww" She said softly, kissing his shoulder gently.
The trio was interrupted a moment later by a young man, blond hair and piercing blue eyes. "Excuse me?" He spoke, looking at Abby. "Would you care to dance?" He asked, looking hopeful.
Liz grinned over at the girl.

Felipe didn't really mind being out-numbered to be honest. LizBeth and Abby seemed to be getting on just fine and that was something he hadn't expected. He knew how Abby felt about Liz and he also knew Liz felt the same way about Abby. Their first encounter had been sheer fireworks and that memory was going to take more than a few smiles and nice words to forget. Would they be able to last through the entire evening without bringing out their claws? Probably but... not a foregone conclusion by any stretch of the imagination. Felipe knew he would have to be on the alert for the signs of imminent conflict... and step between them if need be!
A boy with really weird eyes came over at that moment and positioned himself in front of Abby. Felipe watched in amusement as he asked her to dance. God, those eyes were seriously odd and Felipe would have a decent chance to tease Abby about them after their dance was over....
... assuming she accepted, of course!

Liz turned to Felipe as the other boy waited on Abby's response to his offer. "Come on.." She said, lacing her fingers with Felipe's and pulling him toward the dance floor. "This is supposed to be a date...our first major one in fact..and I'd like to have your attention on me now..thanks." Ok, so seeing Abby kiss him bothered her more then she was going to admit, ok maybe she would. "OK I get that she was showing off..but did you have to enjoy it that much?" She muttered.
The beat was slow, but a little sultry, and Liz would find herself with her arms draped lightly aroun dhis neck while the rest of her was presed a little closer, bumping to the slow beat of the music. She turned, taking one of Fefe's hands and letting it rest over her stomach, her own covering it. The Brit spooned back against her Brazilian, turning her head to look back and up at him. "Hi there.." She smiled, catching his mouth in a feather light, but lingering kiss.

"But..." he started to say and Felipe glanced back at Abby, throwing her a shrug and a resigned grin. "Hold on," he started to say. "What are you talking about? She took me by surprise and of course I liked it. I didn't suddenly turn gay when I asked you to go out with me!" he retorted with a flash of his dark eyes.
He frowned down at LizBeth as she started to dance... but he returned her kiss. Who wouldn't?
The music continued for a while longer before coming to its end and he stepped away from Liz... "You don't like her... do you?" he asked with a quizzical look on his face. It was pretty obvious and he knew how Abby felt in return.

The seemingly genuine gratitude coming from Liz made Abby smile not because she was touched but rather because she had to. Who knew what was going on behind the Brit's blue eyes? She may have Felipe fooled but they were girls, Abby had no reason to fall for her charms. And Abby was also a good liar. "I'm sure we can work something out. But I highly doubt we could really be friends. Because I'm pretty sure you won't go out of your way to say hi to me in the hallways now that you've extended your uh...peace offering." She finished with a wide smile.
When Felipe came back and commented about him being outnumbered, Abby grinned and nudged him. "Like you actually mind."
Abby smirked at the boy who asked her to dance. Like Felipe, she thought his eyes were very peculiar indeed. On principle, blondes just make awful dancers. Or at least that was what Abby thought so she was about to decline when Liz pulled Felipe away. Again, the smirk reappeared. The way she saw it, she was a threat despite Felipe and Abby being completely platonic.
She shrugged back at Felipe when he was pulled away. Turning back to the blonde, Abby raised an eyebrow. "You sure your date over there doesn't want you to dance with her instead?" Abby jerked her head to the girl who was shooting daggers at her and the boy. She chuckled and patted his shoulder before walking away from him to cut in Liz and Felipe's dance only to say she was leaving.
"I'm getting bored, Fel. I'm going to the pier. Thanks so much for inviting me." And just to spite Liz, she pressed her lips on his cheeks, lingering a little too long before smirking at him. "Keep in touch, guapo." She may have complimented him in Spanish but she was sure her gaze was universally understood.
"Bye Liz." She simpered, waving her fingers at the girl before walking off with her head held high. A few boys tried to approach her but she gave them a death glare.
