Liz took one final look in the full length mirror. She had major butterflies beating the hell out of the inside of her stomach. Unusual for the very self confidant Brit. The dress fit her well. The white satin bodice clipped up behind her neck halter style, with a thin strand of diamonds around her mid back. It dipped into a reverse V down her abdomen before resting low on her back and hips. It had been made especially for her and fit her perfectly through the hips and butt. She wore her dark hair up, curling at the crown of her head, a delicate triple banded headpiece nestled gently against the locks. Simple diamond earrings and a matching necklace were the only other jewelry that she wore. Elizabeth pulled her long white gloves up one final time before turning to make her way down the main staircase where Felipe would be waiting. She heard the doorbell, and footsteps as they made their way through the foyer to answer it. Spencer opened the door to find the young Brazilian standing on the other side. "Mr. Vila Nova.." he nodded, stepping back out of the way to let Fefe inside. "Elizabeth will be down in just a moment." He closed the door once the young man had entered into the house. Behind Spencer, on a small marble topped table, lay a clear plastic box that held the boutonniere that Liz had bought for her boyfriend. It was a lovely rie and ice rose which would look smashing against his dark tux. Spencer looked up as he heard the familiar found of heels clicking on the floors. Liz slowly descended the staircase, one hand on the railing, the other holding her skirt up just a few inches so she didn't trip. her eyes met Felipe's and she smiled, silently hoping for the reaction she'd wanted from him. He looked..amazing. No..amazing wasn't even the word for how Felipe looked, standing there, waiting for her. "Damn..." She spoke, almost speechless for once. "Do you know what time you will be home Elizabeth?" Spencer asked, breaking the moment. "No, I do know I will come home to change in the morning as Felipe has a surf lesson with some friends, and then I think we are planning on breakfast and a film festival after that..so don't expect to see me until later tomorrow night." The Brit answered with a grin. i3.photobucket.com/albums/y71/mercurypagen/prom-boutonnieres-01.jpgwww.edressme.com/1164.html#www.weddingmountain.com/p-4803-cleopatra-574-touch-ups-silver-sling.aspxwww.tiaratown.com/hb8.html

LizBeth looked breath-taking. He watched in wordless awe as she walked down the last few stairs to reach the ground level of the house. Spencer had retreated slightly but was still present. Felipe smiled slightly as he reached out a hand to greet her. His other hand held the plastic box containing the corsage he’d brought for her and it dropped down to his side as he stared at LizBeth. Small stones glittered in her hair thanks to the tiara she wore and the same stones were reflected in her shoes.
“I think we need a photograph,” Spencer stated. “Stand closer together. That’s it... A little closer...” Spencer fired off 4 or 5 shots before he felt satisfied and then he left the pair alone. Felipe finally handed LizBeth the box. “I hope you like it,” he said a little uncertainly. He’d never had to buy anything like that before and had wanted to do so without any help from his mother. In hindsight maybe he should have checked with her first...

Liz smiled at Fefe as he held out a hand to greet her. He didn't seem able to stop staring, which was just what she wanted! Spencer wanted a few photographs, posing the couple gently. Liz stood in front of Felipe, feeling his hands on her waist. "I will have copies made for your parents if you like." She told her Brazilian gently after Spencer had left.
She grinned as he handed her the corsage box. Opening it, Liz found herself staring at a gorgeous white orchid arrangement with lavender ribboning. "I love it..it's beautiful!" Liz replied, leaning up and grazing a kiss across his mouth softly. She slipped the flowers over her wrist gently before turning to take up the boutoniere that she had bought. It was a gorgeous fire and ice rose, red at the edges but white for the remainder of the petals. She carefully pinned it to his tux, making sure that she did not stick him.
"Are we ready?" She asked him, making sure that she had everything she needed for the evening. The Brit might just have a surprise or two up her proverbial sleeve for the evening, and she couldn't wait.

He was glad (for that read ‘relieved’!) that she liked the corsage. He’d picked orchid mainly because of their delicate petals. He didn’t want roses for her or anything with too heady a perfume. The buttonhole she’d got for him was magnificent and it went well with his slightly darker skin tone. “Obrigado,” he said with a slight dip of his head.
They were ready to head out... and to the restaurant first.
Felipe prayed he’d manage to keep food off his pristine white shirt...
* * * A full hour later - and with no mis-haps - the pair were on their way and towards the hotel where the prom was being held. A large-fronted building and one that was lit with floodlights of a blue-ish tinge. They were directed upwards and into the rafters of the structure, making any shadowed areas all the more intense and dramatic. Soft music could be heard emanating from the interior. The dance was already well underway... as expected. Neither of them had wanted to arrive early, though.
Felipe had arranged to meet Abby in the main foyer and it was there that they headed first. Being taller than most other people present Felipe was able to scan the foyer with reasonable ease.
“I can’t see her,” he said to LizBeth. Had she changed her mind? Felipe looked at his watch... No, they weren’t late. “Maybe I should call her... send a text...” He didn’t thinK Abby would have decided not to come... at least, had she then he knew she would have let him know.
“Perhaps we should wait here for a few moments and see if she arrives...”

Dinner had been absolutely fantastic, Felipe had chosen a small, quaint little restaurent that had a lovely mix of European dishes. Liz was rather happy with the choice, and did not hesitate to tell Fefe that! She still could not get over how amazing he looked in his tux.
The limo ride to the hotel itself was nice, the couple chatting quietly with each other during the drive. getting out of the limo was a little more tasking then usual, simply due to the nature of her dress. With a slit up to her upper thigh, she had run the risk of flashing her knickers to anyone standing outside. Fortunately, she did not pull a Britney Spears, and she'd gotten out without incident.
Liz looked up at the hotel, a smile curling her lips. They headed into the foyer as Felipe had arranged to meet Abby there. Liz had spoken with the other young woman the day before and had offered for them to pick Abby up with the car and for her to go to dinner with them, but she'd declined. Liz was nice and relaxed, leaning slightly agaisnt her boyfriend as they waited for their friend. "Give her a few minutes Fefe, I'm sure she will be here..she could also be in the ladies room.." she pointed out evenly.

He nodded to LizBeth as she suggested they wait a while. She was right... Abby could be freshening herself up in the washroom. Girls seemed to like to do that a lot!
“Let me get you something to drink while we wait for her,” he suggested. “What would you like? A glass of fizzy water, perhaps?” It seemed only right at an event such as this and Felipe would easily pass as the right age for alcohol even if LizBeth was less likely to.
She nodded and he disappeared for a few moments, soon returning with two tall fluted glasses. He handed one to his date. “To us,” he said, lifting the glass, “... and to a fantastic evening that we shall remember.”
They lightly touched the rims of their glasses together and Felipe took a small sip as he scanned the hotel foyer. Most of the faces around him were unknown but he spotted a couple he recognised, nodding to them or lifting a hand slightly in greeting, even sharing a quick word with one passing couple.
“I met up with a girl called Silver the other evening,” he told LizBeth. “At the video store. I think I talked her into lambada lessons. Would you be interested in learning some Latin American dances? Not that I dance myself but Silver was looking for a partner and there’s no rule that says both partners have to be different genders!”

Liz glanced up at Felipe when he suggested her get her something to drink while they waited for Abby. She nodded, agreeing with his offer of a glass of champagne. "That sounds perfect." She answered, watching him step off for a moment to procure the desired drinks. She smiled, very content with the progress of the evening so far. While they'd asked Abby to join them at the dance itself, this was their first major event as an official couple, and Liz was excited.
He returned, handing her a crystal flute. "Thank you.." Liz spoke, her lips curling into that soft smile when Fefe toasted to them, and to the evening. "To us.." She nodded. "And tonight..I know I'll never forget it!" There was the gentle tinkle of crystal clinking against itself, and Liz took a small sip as well She'd practically grown up drinking champagne and wine, so the taste was familiar, bubbling over her tongue and up her nsoe slightly.
She turned to her boyfriend when he spoke. "Silver...is that the girl that mentioned the film festival?" She asked, recalling him mentioning it the other day and asking if she'd wanted to go. Of course she did. "You managed to talk some strange girl into lambada lessons?" She laughed softly, in pure amusement but not at him at all. "I'd actually like to...you've seen my samba..it's not bad but it's definitely not trained..but you gotta come too!" Liz grinned, the image of the pair of them dancing the forbidden dance, hips rolling and undulating..it was a good image. "Or at least come watch if you chicken out and cannot get up to dance with us." She was teasing him, defintiely, but it was playful!

"Me? Come to dance lessons?" Felipe's eyes widened. "Oooh no"!" he stated with the hand not clutching the glass and lifting, palm towards LizBeth. "No way! I can't dance to save my life! You saw how bad I am! Maybe I could watch... " Yeah... that seemed the best plan... and safer for both LizBeth and Silver's toes!
He sipped some more of his drink. "Maybe I'll send Abby a text and suggest we meet her inside the main room?" It seemed insane for them to stand out here when so much was going on in there.
Felipe dug out his phone and quickly keyed a text to his friend. He pressed 'send' and then pocketed his phone.
"Shall we go in?" he queried and he offered Liz his arm to hold.

Liz giggled at Felipe's reaction to dance lessons. "You can too dance!" She told him. "The other night..in your room..you had a really good rhythm going on." She grinned up at him mischievously, her green eyes sparkling. "You..are going to dance here right?" She asked him, glancing toward the doors to the main area.
"Good idea." Liz agreed, watching Fefe send his friend..no..their friend a text. He did so, hitting send before stuffing his phone back into his pants pocket. Liz couldn't hide her cell on her if she had to..there was just nowhere to put it. She'd tucked it into her clutch instead.
"Yes, I think we shall!" She grinned, taking another small sip of her champagne as she took his arm. The couple crossed the foyer into the main dance rea, looking around. "There's an empty table." Liz pointed out, walking over to it so they could set down their glasses and anything else that they did not want to carry right then.
"Dance with me?" She asked, looking up at the Brazilian, resting a manicured hand lightly on his chest.

Having received the text message from Felipe, Abby smiled and shook her head in amusement. The boy really did just want her to come. She wasn't about to miss it, anyway. If she had to go with a friend to prom, Felipe would be the best choice by far. Diego was obviously not coming. Why would he? He was in crutches and he hated her. And she was scared to talk to him anymore. So putting the last touches to her make up and letting her hair loose down her shoulders, Abby looked at herself in her new dress and smiled. She didn't look half bad. After a quick photo session with her parents, Abby kissed her siblings goodnight and left the house in her car. She had actually planned to go with Felipe but after much deliberation, she decided it'd be a lot better to make a grand entrance at the place itself. After parking her car, she walked up into the hotel the prom was held and looked for the ballroom. Her dark purple satin clutch with a wrist strap and an oval shaped purple gem was clenched tight as she avoided misstep by holding the bottom part of her long dress up, revealing the strappy sparkly silver sandals she had chosen to wear with her dress. Once she was at the door, she opened it to reveal the ballroom filled with her schoolmates. She passed a few people who complimented on her dress, asking her if it was her own design. She waved to a couple of people she actually knew and looked around for any sign of Felipe to find Liz and him cosying up. A part of her heart clenched at the sight of them. Not because she had any feelings for Felipe...besides that of friendship of course. But because she remembered how she had done exactly that with her ex boyfriend. "Damn it. Pull yourself together Abby." She took deep calming breaths before approaching them, bumping into Felipe on purpose. "Hey stud muffin." Abby grinned before raising a hand at Liz. "Hey," She said simply. [OOC: The DRESS. And the SHOES. And the PURSE]
