Ok so trying to talk to the Ice Queen had been a serious error of judgement. She glanced Christophe over and then moved away, not even bothering to reply. At least Haley had seemed nice enough. Tyler too.
Lia - bless her sweet heart - came to Christophe's rescue and quickly suggested they check out the salad s on display. He threw her a bright smile before slipping his arm around her shoulders. "Bien," he replied. He wasn't going to let that girl's attitude ruin the party for him - or for Lia.
He looked around at the other 'gods' and 'goddesses' as they crossed the room. "I have to admit that I know none of these people," he whispered. "Oh, I lie!" he added. "Connor and Kian are here. Excellent! You know both of them, don't you?"
Anyone else...? He scanned the room in vain. A few faces he recognised but not well enough to be able to allocate names. Had this been a mistake coming here? He knew only a couple of people and those that he'd spoken to so far, whilst friendly (for the most part) hadn't been all that interested in getting to know him. Christophe looked down at Lia's happily smiling face.
No... Never.

Lia held Christophe's arm tightly, not as confident as she seemed She waved at Tina whom she had met earlier in the day in a class they shared. The girl looked grateful to be noticed. The guy she was with was good looking, but he didn't look pleased to be with the beautiful Asian girl. It was a shame really. "Do you see that girl, Christophe? She is Tyler's sister who just moved here from New York," she whispered. "The red-head is Bree the head cheerleader who is very popular and very into 'causes'.

"Tyler's sister?" He glanced at the girl he thought Lia had pointed out. She was definitely of Asian blood and the Tyler he'd just met was anything but. Half sister perhaps? Either that or he was currently regarding the wrong girl. "Bree... Ok I can remember that name." He had little to do with the cheerleading group, not caring a great deal for sports, but causes were very much his thing... particularly anti-whaling ones, of course. In fact he intended going to a gathering next month. A peaceful demonstration yet again trying to make the government see sense and step in to stop Japan's brutal culling of what could soon be an endangered species. His parents would be furious if they knew he was getting involved but the Sea Shepherd people needed all the support they could get.
"We should say hello later to Kian and Connor," he said, glancing over at the two boys in question. They looked to be having a great time and the French boy smiled at their antics. It was clear they were devoted to each other. "Is Jandro likely to come Or Saint?" he asked. He wasn't sure if either of them had been invited but then again Christophe hadn't been either. Not directly.

"No, both of them would behave badly so I hope not anyway.Saint would get irritated by the superficiality of the athletes and cheerleaders and Jandro would do something shocking just for fun.they don't find dress up fun unless it has an artistic purpose. If Jandros new boyfriend wanted to then he would try to behave. I love them both but they are annoying sometimes," she hated even saying it, but they could be very superior. Kian waved at Christophe and guided Connor over to talk to the French boy. "Bon Jour Christophe," Kian said with a wry smile as he attempted to remember his middle school language choice. "Who is this femme fatale you have upon your arm? He was doing his best to remember and not offend anyone. The situation was not the best as he really disliked cheerleaders and jocks.

He laughed when Lia told him why she hoped her brothers wouldn't make their appearance. It sounded normal and healthy sibling friction to him. Its fine to find them annoying. Its part of being brothers and sister," he said with a broad smile. "My older brother and sister often annoyed me over the years, just as I am sure I did them. Amélie, being married and a mother of a young child, no longer lived at home but Tristan did. He missed his sister but she and her family were to visit over the summer. He couldn't wait to see her again. Absence perhaps did make the heart grow fonder after all.
"Bon jour, mon ami," he replied to Kian with a grin. "Your accent is terrible, by the way," he teased. His own when speaking English was far, far worse. He knew that and so did Kian!
"And this is Llyria," he added. "We are dating." That sounded good when spoken out loud and Kian was the first other person to know. Are you and Connor having a good time?" It wasn't really Christophe's scene but he would persevere for Lia's sake. She seemed to be having fun and that was all that mattered.

Kian grinned at Christophe. "I won the medal for French conversation in middle school. So you are dating little Lia Juarez. She was always bent on being as tough as her brothers. When she was on duty at the beach there was no goofing around. I remember getting banned for a few weeks one summer. I was desolated because I missed my friends so much." Kian laughed as his verbal jabs hit home and she blushed prettily.
She straightened up and gave him a no nonsense look. "If you try to dunk kids then you get banned Kian O'Connor. Don't blame me because you were a bully.
Kian held up his hands as if giving up. "I promise I won't push, shove or shorts anyone.

Christophe at first had thought that Kian didn't know Lia but it now seemed they'd been acquainted for some time. "I can imagine Llyria being strict," he said with a grin. "And I will remember not to dunk anyone while she is looking." Lia nudged Christophe in his side. "That said, she manages to dunk herself without any assistance from me," he added, referring to the incident at the aquarium.
"So this is another side of you that I didn't know, Kian, is it? You are a bully?" He grinned, unable to imagine the gentle boy acting in that way. Goofing around, yes, but not maliciously bullying. "I see I have a lot to learn about my new friends here in the USA!"
The trio laughed and Christophe felt a little more at ease. He still felt awkward and out of place but not as much as he had done moments before. "Who is it that you are dressed as, Kian?" he asked. "For myself I'm afraid I am just some nameless and faceless Greek god but I didn't have a lot of time to prepare anything much."

"Well I only did it once to Patch and she banished me for a month. Believe me there are times when you need to bully Patch. When he gets something stuck in his head and won't let go of it. I didn't hold him under that long, but she wouldn't listen," he explained, not wanting Christophe to have the wrong impression of him. It had been around the period he discovered he was gay and other guys seemed to notice as well and he had a lot of aggression to deal with.
Lia laughed and gave Kian a joking shove in reply. "I think the regional supervisor was there and I was trying to appear tough because she thought I was too young," she explained with a roll of her expressive eyes.

"You dunked Patch?" Christophe laughed. "I would have paid good money to witness that!" he added on another laugh. Lia nudged him again in his side and that only served to make the French boy laugh all the more. "Although I cannot possibly imagine Llyria being tough wirth anyone," he added and he slipped his arm around her shoulders as he spoke. She was far from tough with him anyway. Perhaps he was just fortunate!
"Would you both like something to drink?" he asked. "I have to admit to a sudden thirst and they have some soft drinks on the table." Seeing as though he'd driven them to the party he wouldn't even contempalte having anything alcoholic. He rarely drank that sort of stuff anyway. Llyria? Would you like something? And you also, Kian. I can just as easily carry back three glasses as I can just the two!"

Kian looked at his empty glass and grinned. 'I would love one, Thanks," he said setting the glass down and lightly nudging Lia. "She looks pretty content at the moment." Which he could understand. Her new boyfriend was easy on the eyes. "Believe me, PaTCH got me back for it later. I was itching for a week."
Lia had to laugh at that, Kian's expression was quite expressive."Well I hope you will forgive me Kian, I will be more sympathetic this summer i think," she said with a brilliant smile.
