(OOC: It felt wrong to leave this hanging so closed it properly )
Hayley seemed to be appeased and after a short conversation she moved on, reminding Christophe of a little butterfly moving from bloom to bloom. He threw Lia a wry glance, still not all that sure where her comments had come from. She clearly didn't rate this crowd and so he couldn't fathom why she'd wanted to attend the party in the first place.
They stayed for about another hour before Lia declared she wanted to leave. That was fine with Christophe and he nodded down at her. He had his errand to run for his maman anyway.
He drove her home in relative sielnce, Hayley's words still ringing in his head. Probably in Lia's too. He hoped Haley had forgotten about what Lia had said as he'd sensed she'd been hurt by it. That was what made it all so weird as he didn't expect Lia to say anything that might hurt.
"It was a good party," he said as he drew up at the front of her house. "Thank you for inviting me to go with you>"
He declined Lia's offer of coffee, knowing that if he went inside he'd end up forgetting to call by the convenience store on his way home. And besides, Maman had said she wanted the milk at least for that evening.
He leaned over to drop a kiss onto Lia's lips. "I will look for you at school tomorrow," he promised and with a nod she slipped out of the car. He watched until she'd vanished inside. Only then did he move the car away from the pavement's edge... and belatedly realising he'd be doing his mothher's shopping in a toga. Still, this was California... Surely more bizarre outfits had been seen before? And if not...? Then he would simlpy claim it to be normal for Paris. Hell, he might even start a new trend!
