[Character name: Fallon Cotton] [Location: Santa Monica Carnival]
Fallon had to go to the carnival. When she said had, she HAD to go. Medieval Times had paid to have an information booth set up at the carnival. It was great for business. That just so happen to be where Fallon was working this lovely evening. Since she was only 16 and had school her boss thought this was perfect for her. However, Fallon had to be in her uniform aka costume aka right now Fallon looked like a serving wench all the way from her hair to her toes. So she looked full on 1700's or 1800's. Either way Fallon sat in the booth passing out flyer's and talking to people.
Fallon loved her job, but sometimes she was not in the mood and Fallon right now was in one of her moods. She was not mad or pissed off, she was sad. Fallon had a hard time letting go of the images in her head. Of what she did see or what she did not see and what she heard. Fallon sighed as she continued to answer questions in her depressed state. At least Fal could not blame her Bipolar this time. She had taken her medications before she left for work, so this was just a natural state for right now.
Fallon smiled at people and kids and answered questions she could answer. At least it was under a roof and she had a seat to sit down in. Soon it became dark, but not too dark. It was only around 8pm. Fallon had until 9pm before she had to leave, but the booth became boring. People were walking all sorts of ways and only a few stopped by here and there now. Thats usually how it worked.
Fallon took a seat and took out her book to continue to draw. She used the light from the carnival to help her as she kept drawing. Fallon did not even notice someone walk up. At least someone had yet to comment on her costume, which was nice. Although Fallon loved her costume.

It was far too nice an evening to stay at home. School had been ok... unexpectedly so - and he'd made a new friend at lunch time. Plus he and Evan had set some plans in motion that should see a fun Saturday ahead of them. All in all it had been a good day and so he allowed himself the pleasure of exploring the carnival. He quickly spotted a face he knew and while her outfit was a little unusual Takumi was hardly going to comment. After all, he wasn't exactly dressed in what could be termed 'normal' clothing. Drainpipe jeans with a long sweater that came down to mid way between his hips and his knees, almost - but not completely - covering the plaid over-skirt he also wore. A long scarf completed his outfit but it was still very much played down from what he'd have worn back in Osaka. He wandered over to where she sat and smiled down at her. "Hai Fallon-chan!" he greeted. "You look... ah... very romance," he stated. "Your dress and the light from the carnival." He nodded. "I think that word is the right one." It was close if not and hopefully she would know what he meant. "What is it you are drawing?" he asked as he tried to take a look.

Fallon looked up, "Taki!" Fallon said with a smile. She put her book down on the table and ran around to give him a big hug. She was glad he was okay. Sure she only met him once, but he was a good guy, who cared about her brother, which made him okay in her book. Fallon let go and smiled, "Sorry if I hugged too hard." She said to him.
Fallon looked at her outfit when he mentioned it. "You would be correct. I am a serving wench from the 1800's at your service." Fallon said as she did a curtsy. She smiled and laughed at the same time. "Its for my job. I am here promoting dinner theater. You should come. The show is about knights and a Princess. Its a good show. Plus great food. You should bring someone...or more if you like." There job done, now she could socialize.
"Oh this." She picked up her sketch book to hand to Taki. "A dress I am working on. Not the typical style I work with, but Si has given me inspiration." It was a black and greed ripped dress. It looked good to Fallon, but she knew it could be better. She was her own worst enemy after all. "So how are you doing?" Fallon asked. "I haven't seen you since the ghost trip. Anything new going on."

Takumi laughed as he hugged her back. "There is no such thing as a hug that is too hard, Fallon-chan," he replied with a grin. "Ah so... a serving maid." His eyes glinted with amusement. "I would be honoured to be served by a maid such as you," he declared with a slight dip of his head. "I think I will do as you suggest and see the show. I would like that very much. We don't have many tales of knights like this back in Japan. It is always the saburau... aah... samurai in western languages."
He dropped down next to Fallon when she retook her seat. "A dress? Fallon-chan you are designer?" His eyes widened in awe. "You are very talented and I look forward very much to seeing the dress on you. But as for me... I was arrested," he stated. "After the gang stuff in the cafeteria. You probably know that already as Sidra was also arrested. Other than that... Evan and I are organising some fun for Staurday. I already send otouto-san a text asking him to come but hope you and Sidra would also think about it. We are going bowling then getting some food and going to see a movie. Would you like to come?"
He hoped so as he liked Fallon. Sidra, too.

"Well if you come then asked for the blue section. I always serve that section, the front two rows. Just let me know in advance and I will make sure you get the right seats for yourself and whomever you bring along. Its a good show. Not sure there is much historical accuracy, but the kids love it. Besides you can pet the horses at the end. Everyone loves horses. Ever been horseback riding?" Fallon asked, "Its out of this world fun." She assured Taki.
Fallon smiled and blushed a little when he commented on the dress.. "Well that dress is more Si's kind of dress. I prefer more fairly tale dresses. I could never pull off that look." Fallon said with a shake of her head. "But thank you." she told Taki. "I am glad you like my work. I have actually dresses I have made back home. I have worn a few of them to school. I will have to point them out to you." She told him.
"Arrested. How awful? Are you okay?" Fallon felt for Taki. Si had beena rrested. It seemed as if only Fal had not had interaction with the police. Which was kind of interesting. Oh wait that's a lie. When she had her breakdown the police came, never mind she thought. "At least you are out. I cannot believe you got arrested over that." Fallon told Taki. "I had to keep talking to the police about what I saw and heard that day. I was there when Mr. Phan was killed." Fallon admitted.
She smiled and perked up when Taki asked about bowling. "I would love too. Thank you for inviting me. I know SI will want to come. Thad I am sure will be there." Fallon assured Taki. "Oh this will be great. I can make a new dress for bowling." She said getting excited.

"Blue section. Got it," he repeated. "But no... I haven't ridden a horse. It looks... ah... uncomfortable!" he added with a laugh. "Maybe you can show me how to ride...?" He was up to trying it, at least. Perhaps he could even push a seat cushion into his clothes to make sure it wasn't so painful!
"I love your design, Fallon-chan!" Takumi enthused. "But I am sure you wouold look nice in the fairy tale one also. Maybe you should design one like that too?"
"As for being arrested..." He shrugged slightly. "It wasn't so bad. They thought I was part of the other gang. The Asian one. The Principal soon cleared it up when he told the cops I'd only arrived in town a few days before so could hardly be in any gang. I heard you were there when that teacher was killed. That must have been terrible!" He grasped her hand and squeezed it as he spoke, unable to imagine how scared she must have been.
He smiled when she accepted his invitation for Staurday. "Sugoi! And Sidra too? That would be good! Thad hasn't replied to my text yet but am sure he will also come. But you will make a dress? That will be fantastic! Perhaps I can get you to design me a jacket? I need a new one and I hate wearing stuff anyone else can also have." He glanced down at his outfit with a wry smile. "You probably can tell I like to be different," he added with a wink.
"Would you like a drink, Fallon-chan? I saw a soda stand a bit back and would be honoured to buy you something."

Fal gave Taki a look. It was a you have a point look. "It is uncomfortable, but you get use to it. Trust me. It has its moments. You would need to start off slow. It hurst the legs at the beginning." Fallon told Taki. "Horses are really gentle. Unless spooked, but one good thing about working at the show is that I have learned how to handle horses. At least I know how to act around them so they stay calm." Fal assured Taki. "So I would love to show you sometime. Maybe I could talk to one of the trainers and you can come by one weekend before a show."
"I have a few of those dresses already made. I will have to show them to you. It took forever, but I finally finsihed them. I can usually make a dress in one night, but if I take my time the dresses come out better." Fal told Taki. She smiled when he squeezed her hand, "Thank you, but its okay. i did not really see, so much as heard what happened, but its really good the misunderstanding was cleared up. You never should have been arrested."
Fal nodded, "I can check with Si and Thad when I get home tonight." She told Taki. "I am sure they will show up. We would just all need a reminder text on later in the week. At least I think we can all go. They are grounded right now." Fallon told Taki. "A jacket." Fal looked him over, "I would need your measurements. I think i could make something worthy of you." Fal smiled. "I like making unique clothes." Fallon looked around and quickly said something to the girl next to her, "I could use a soda. Thanks."

"You would do that for me?" he exclaimed when she offered to teach him to ride on one of the show horses. "You are indeed a good friend, Fallon!" He leaned closer as she told him about the speed in which she made her dresses. To say he was astonished would be a terrible understatement. His face reflected his admiration. He nodded at the text reminder suggestion. "I will do that," he stated. "May I have yours and Sidra's numbers so that I can contact you both?" He shot her a grin. "Not too sure I trust otouto-san to pass on my message!" he added with a wink. He input the numbers into his phone and saved them in his 'friends' folder. Fallon then offered to make the jacket and Takumi's face lit with joy. "Arigatou!" he said with a dip of his head. "Arigatou gozaimasu! Thank you so very much!" He scrambled to his feet as she also stood in readiness to buy the drink he'd promised. "I have an old jacket that fits me well. You could use that perhaps... or I could call by to see Thad and maybe you could measure me then? I would pay for your trouble and the material, of course!" To say he was excited at the idea would be the second understatement of the evening and with a bounce in his step he steered Fallon over to the soda booth he'd spotted.
"Anything you want!" he stated.

Fallon smiled, "its not trouble really. The horses need excercise now and then. So riding them around the arena is usually something that's done anyway. Its just a way to kill two birds with one stone. The horses get excercise and you get to learn to ride. Its simple, but must be done either right after school one day or in the morning on the weekend. Those are the only free times before ths shows." Fallon assured Taki. She liked his enthusiasm. It was refreshing. Sometimes she got a tad bored at her job. She could only see the same show over and over, but she loved the outfit.
"Sure here." Fallon gave Taki the numbers, "I love my brother too, but his memory is not always reliable." The speed of her dress making was more due to her Bipolar disorder then anything else. She could get into a fast paced mood at anytime. Well she use to. Not any more. Not since her meds.
"I will have a Cherry Coke please." Fallon asked. "And a lime please." Fallon could be considered weird. She liked Cherry Coke with lime. It was a little sour with sweet and it was not bad, but an aquired taste. "An old Jackie would be fine, but it would be easier to measure you." She told Taki, "Either way will work though. Do you have any ideas in mind or would you rather I just make a design for your jacket." Fallon would do what he wanted, but she preferred to have creative reign over the jacket. She would not let Taki down. Or so she hoped.

"Hmmm... I think I would like it to be a surprise," he replied. "I like your dress design and so am sure I would also like any jacket you come up with."
He turned to the man in the booth. "A cherry coke with... lime and ahh... do you have Mizuke ramune soda?" He highly doubted the Japanese drink would be available but it was always worth asking.
"Miz... what?" replied the man with a bemused look on his face.
"Never mind," Takumi replied. "Strawberry soda?"
"We've got Cool Mountain... that do you?"
Taki nodded, not at all sure what that drink was like but he'd already made a fool out of himself. No need to add to that further.
He handed one drink to Fallon and peered at the rose-pink coloured one he was left with. At least it smelt of strawberry. "I can call around your house after you finish here," he suggested. "For you to measure me, I mean," he added. He could also catch up with Thad with luck.
"A moment." Taki dug out his phone, re-sending the text to Izzy that had failed earlier and inviting her to the bowling evening. He pushed the phone back into his pocket. "If that's not good for you we can make it another time." He shrugged wryly. "I am just excited at the jacket idea," he explained.
