"I...I told you...guys who keep a diary...are either gay...or weird....I guess you...you fit..." She said between shallow breaths. She looked at Brit when she spoke and smiled a small smile. "Yeah sure....you did not say a word...I will ....remember...remember that..." She said letting out another small laugh. It was not easy, but with Brit, Evan and Eddie keeping calm it helped Aly not freak out. Because maybe it was not that bad. Aly could not exactly see what she looked like, although she could feel the pain and the light headedness, but perhaps she was being over dramatic.
Aly could be like that. "Th...thanks..." She told Brit as she went to go call her dad. He would need to be informed. "I don't need to copy your pranks...my pranks...are...are better then...yours...you wish...you would...would have thought of that..." Aly said. It was getting hard to keep talking, but she was doing it. She had too. Talking meant staying awake and thats what she needed.
"Of course I will be fine...no...no way a gun...a gun shot...is going...to stop me...from...from...continuing....to make Brit's...life...hell..." Although Aly knew that was no longer the truth. She could say it and try and mean it, but there was no conviction in her voice. The only feeling behind her words was uncertainty. She had a big feelings things had changed between Aly and Brit.
The paramedics came and began to work. One paramedic looked at the other three kids, "We are taking her to the hospital to work on her wound and to treat her for blood loss. Is anyone else hurt?" When the paramedic was assured everyone was fine they loaded Aly up and took her out to the ambulance and to the hospital.

"We're all fine," Brit told the paramedics. "I should go with her though. I'm her sister. Our parents are already on their way to the hospital...."
The paramedics nodded, agreeing they could squeeze Brittany in as the placed Aly onto a stretcher. It was eerie to watch, but Brittany knew that she had to go... She looked over at Evan and gave his hand a squeeze. "Go make sure everyone else is alright...let me know as soon as you know..." She was still worried about her friends. After all there was no way of knowing how many had gotten injured.
Letting go of Evan's hand, she turned to Eddie and gave the boy she'd just met a hug. "Thank you so much for all of your help," she told him. She didn't have his contact information and she didn't really have time to get it, but she knew that she'd make an effort to look him up once this was all over. He'd proved to be a good guy after all.
As the paramedics pushed Aly out of the room on the stretcher, Brit followed, hoping her step-sister would be okay.

“Yeah, of course, they want us to head to the auditorium, so I’ll see who I can track down.” Evan promised his girlfriend, squeezing her hand in return before releasing it. He watched her move over to Eddie before turning his gaze back to Aly. So she saved Brit’s life, he never would have seen that coming. And he felt like he would have to hold back on pranking her too now. At least for a little bit.
He watched both girls being led out, until he was left alone with Eddie. He didn’t know the guy in the slightest, but Brittany seemed to, and he had helped Evan’s girlfriend out. So, he felt like he should be friendly to the Silver student. Even if something was unnerving him about the stranger. He put it down to still being nervous about the shooting. Being shot at could do that to a guy.
“Well, guess we better get out of here, to the auditorium. I can show you the way.” Evan offered, slipping his hands inside his pockets. He was anxious himself, to see how the rest of his, and Brit’s friends, were. And then he wanted to head to the hospital as quick as possible. His mum would be able to keep him updated on Aly. Most of all, he just wanted to be with his girlfriend. With that, he left the room, expecting Eddie to follow him.

Once he saw the police officers, Eddie felt safe. And once he felt safe, the adrenaline stopped pumping and the shock of what just happened began to sink in. Every student in the school had been through a serious tragedy, and only through chance had many of them escaped physical harm. Others, like Aly, weren’t so lucky. Eddie just sat in a desk watching as paramedics helped Aly out of the room and the plethora of cops began their difficult job of cleaning up this mess. Even when Brittany came over and hugged him, Eddie felt like a ghost watching the whole scene from above. He couldn’t speak, though he didn’t ever feel the desire to. Words could no capture the depth of what had occurred.
Eddie saw Brittany leave, then her boyfriend turned to him and said something. Eddie wasn’t listening, he wasn’t sure what was happening, but he nodded, if only to acknowledge that he was spoken to. Evan left the room.
Eddie vaguely understood he should follow, but he didn’t want to be close enough to speak to the boy. Despite the whole insanity of the day, Eddie still felt a little uncomfortable around Evan. Eddie tried to piece together the talk he had with Brittany before class, and then recalled the guy he first thought was Evan. Part of him wanted to figure out what was going on in that little love triangle, but Eddie tried to convince himself it wasn’t because he had a thing for Brittany. He was just curious, right?
Eddie finally stood and left the room. Evan was out of sight, but most of the students were heading in one direction and, not wanting to think or talk, Eddie followed in the hopes that it was where he was supposed to go.
He had been in L.A. for less than a week and already his life was turning into a crazy movie. No doubt he would be getting calls from people back home, wondering if he’s safe, but Eddie ddn’t want to have to deal with that yet. Especially if Jessie called.
Eddie reached into his pocket and turned off his phone.
