(OOC: Haha, couldn’t help myself. Figured Evan would sing loud enough for EVERYONE to hear. Feel free to save everyone from that horror.)
Evan was glad he had lots of practice at running away from things, though running from scary people with guns was definitely not what he was used to. He didn’t exactly know if any of the scary people with guns were chasing him, but he wasn’t about to stop and /or look back. He’d done more than enough stupid things for that day.
He kept singing though, didn’t stop for even a moment as he bolted randomly around the school. He didn’t have a clue what was going on in the cafeteria, or if there were more scary people around the school. If there was, he really didn’t want to run into them. But nor did he want them to head into the cafeteria and foil the ‘Save Jessica’ plot they cooked up. He would have to speak his fellow planners, make sure they told the girl his involvement. If only so that she might not kill him and patch at another date.
He turned a corner, narrowly missing a row of lockers as he skidded slightly on the floor. He hadn’t seen anyone yet, dead or alive, so he figured that had to be a good thing. “My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard, they’re like, it’s better than yours!” he sung badly in tune as he bolted.

Everything was blurring together for Brittany. Eddie took over taking care of Aly while Brit stood there with her phone still clutched in her hand. There was just too much going on for her to register it. She'd never been in a situation like this before... And she could still hardly believe it was happening now. She wanted to pinch herself to see if it was just some bad dream, but she sat there frozen in place, watching Aly start to freak only made her freak more.
And then Aly suggested that she call their parents. "Right," Brittany said. That should have been obvious. And she'd been thinking about her boyfriend...was she really that selfish. Her step-sister was shot and she'd been worrying and wondering if Evan was okay...
"I"ll call your dad," she said, figuring it made more sense since Aly was the one that was hurt. Brit was fine. Her head hurt from the initial fall when Aly pushed her out of the way, but the pain hardly compared to anything else going on. Brittany knew that she was okay. She started to scroll down the list of contacts on her phone when she heard that voice.
She looked over at Aly and Eddie, her face horror struck. "That's....Evan...why is he singing?! I...need to get him in here before he gets shot too!" There was still a lot of havoc in the halls...Brit could hear, but Evan's voice was quite distinct. Before anyone could talk her out of it, she dropped her phone on the ground and ran to the door, opening it up just a crack, to look out for her boyfriend.
OOC: if Evan's involved in another thread, feel free for him to already be elsewhere in the school and for Brit not to see him

Eddie hadn’t even thought of calling his parents until Aly mentioned it. They were probably worried sick. He could vaguely hear sirens, and if the police were here then surely they were surrounded by news crews looking for the big scoop. His parents were probably worried sick. Brittany had said she’d call Aly’s dad, so Eddie felt okay getting up and calling his parents. He crawled over to another corner and dialed.
Jus as the answering machine picked up he heard a voice and saw Brittany dash for the door. “Brittany! Stop-” But it was too late, the door was cracked and open. Eddie rushed over to her side, grabbing a large book on the way in case he had to do any clobbering to save the foolish girl. Not that it would likely be useful, but Eddie wasn’t necessarily thinking straight. He grabbed Brittany around the waist and pulled her back into the room, then turned and shut the door.
“What in the hell are you doing?” he whispered as angrily as possible. “Anyone could be out there! Would you so casually risk our lives like that? Maybe you don’t give a crap about me but what bout your friend over there? She couldn’t do anything to defend herself!” Eddie was getting pissed off and he realized his voice had gotten a little too loud. No doubt if someone was outside, they could have heard him. He took a deep breath and brought his voice back down to a whisper. “Look, I’m sorry I was angry. But there’s nothing we can do to help anyone now. They’re either safe or they aren’t, but whoever’s in our school has guns, and this isn’t some movie. You won’t be able to help anyone if you get shot, you’ll only hurt things.”
Eddie stayed in between Brittany and the door. He couldn’t risk anyone’s life by letting Brittany leave the room. He was afraid, however, that he wouldn’t be able to top her if she really wanted to get out.
“Please. For your friend, don’t leave.”

"Thank...thank you...Eddie" Aly told him before he left. she took over holding the hoodie against her arm. Aly was not too focused on what was going on around her. She was trying not to cry or give into the pain. Sure she was aware her gunshot wound to the should might not be as serious as some others, but the loss of blood might be a problem. Aly was staring to feel worse little by little, but she was okay for now. She could concentrate, talk, breath. All she felt was a little weak.
Aly heard Brit yell about Evan. Wonderful...then again she could use someone to joke around, something to help take their minds off what was going on. Aly obviously stayed put. She could not really hear everything that was being said but body language said alot. Aly reached for her phone and scrolled through her own contacts.
She found her dad's number. she was aware the school would probably inform him as well as the hospital, but she would imagine how freaked out they were. So she pressed send and waited. She got her dad's voice mail. "H....hey daddy its me....um...I am at school...with Brit and this guy Eddie...Brit...Brit is fine...but um...I...um ...I have been shot. Its in the shoulder. I am sure I will be okay.... I love you dad." With that said Aly closed her flip phone and tears fell. She tried to hide them. Aly wiped her eyes with her one good hand. "Hey Brit....why is your boyfriend singing in the halls...." Aly yelled from her position, "He is aware there are guys with guns in the school right...." In other words maybe they should call Evan to come into the room to save his ass. Then again Eddie did have a point about not opening the door.

Well, he hadn’t been shot yet, so Evan took it as a good sign. He took the sirens he heard as an even better one. But still, he hadn’t seen anyone else, and no cops, so he didn’t think it was safe yet. Crazy people with weapons could still be out in the school somewhere. And a thin bead of sweat covered his forehead as he continued to run.
And then, he almost had a heart attack. Rounding another corner, he saw a classroom door opened just a little, and he saw the tiniest bit of face, someone looking at him. He stopped running on the spot, stopped singing as well, waiting for the gunman to come out and end his short, but admittedly, pretty awesome life. He would miss his mum, would miss his hot girlfriend, would miss Patch, Mal, all the friends he made. And his & Brit’s cool albino snakes. He hadn’t even settled completely on a name for his yet.
The bullet didn’t come, and Evan stared at the face before the door was shut again, almost as quickly. And he started to realise, the face looked a little familiar. A lot familiar. And it clicked. He’d never run so fast as he did then, sprinting towards the door, practically barging into the classroom. He slammed the door shut behind him and before she could react, was pulling Brittany into his arms for a very sloppy, very enthusiastic kiss.
“You’re hurt?” he asked, worry in his voice as he managed to pull away from her just enough to look her over. She was covered in blood. And then he noticed the other two in the room, some random guy he didn’t know. And Aly. Aly was shot. He looked from one sister to the other, trying to piece it together. He didn’t even pay attention to what his girlfriend was wearing yet.
Quickly, he moved to Aly’s side, realising she was the only injured one. It was a relief that Brit was okay, but though he and his girl’s step-sister clashed, all the time, he didn’t want her hurt like this. After all, she was Brittany’s step-sister. “Ah, so you don’t get enough attention, you had to get shot too.” Evan joked softly, doing his usual thing. She looked bad, really bad. And he felt himself grow a little nervous again.
“Don’t worry Aly, heard sirens. Help should be coming soon.” he promised, glancing back at Brittany as he spoke. “Just don’t die on us okay? Cause I know it’s your dying wish and all, but I’m not going to let you kiss me. Sorry, but I’m spoken for.” he teased.

Brittany was not happy when Eddie grabbed her. "That's my boyfriend singing! He could get hurt! I need to get him in here!" she didn't sound rational. "My sister's already shot! I can't have two important people being shot!" she yelled. And there it was...it was the first time that Brittany had ever referred to Aly as her sister and not her step-sister. And she'd admitted that Aly was an important person to her. She wasn't thinking about the fact that Aly was sitting right there and could probably hear her.
Maybe Eddie did have a point. Maybe she shouldn't open the door. But before she could really fight back the door burst open and before she could register whether it was one of the bad guy's or not, lips were on hers and she recognized the the kiss as Evan's. And everything was okay. "I..hit my head but I'm fine...but Aly..." she began as her boyfriend noticed her step-sister wounded on the floor. He ran right too her and Brit couldn't help but smile.
She hurried over to them, she couldn't help but crack a smile at Evan's joke. Everything would be okay now. Feeling calmer, she looked over at Aly. "Sorry--I have to call your dad..." she said, picking up her phone. She looked back over at Eddie and then at Evan. "Evan--this is Eddie, he knows what he's doing. Let him help."

"Great I get shot and God sends me an even bigger pain to deal with." Aly looked up as Evan came over. She did her usual smirk, because face it what Aly said is normal when it comes to Evan. She did consider him a pain in the ass. However when he proceeded to joke about her kissing him, as much as she dreaded Evan and his stupid, idiotic jokes she could not help but smile a genuine smile and laugh a small laugh, "Yeah right...its more like your dying wish...what you just did is projection..." aly said trying to be her semi normal self even if it came out weird. She looked at Brit, "Okay." She told her in reference to her calling her dad. Aly could not remember if she had called her dad or not.
"By the way I heard the sister and the important comment...you are going to never live that down..." Aly said trying to joke, but it was hard to show facial expressions with all the pain. "And trust me...i did not so this for attention..if I wanted attention I would point out what Brit is wearing....thanks to me..." Aly said trying her best but right now as funny as it was to her it did not have the same effect at the moment. However, that was not going to stop her because right now she needed to talk about anything.
"My sister a cheerleader....just think of it." Aly smiled and then coughed a little. "And I don't plan to die and if I did my dying wish would involve me....and a very famous Tatum Channing...." She told Evan as Brit went to go make the call, "Yeah Eddie is good...he seems to know how to keep a calm head in all this...." Which was also good because the more calm everyone else was the easier it was for Aly to attempt to act normal.

A wave of confusion fell over Eddie. Who was this guy? It wasn’t the same one that Brittany was talking to earlier. And Aly was her sister, the one she supposedly hated? They seemed to care a heck of a lot ore for one another than they let on. And how did Brittany end up in that cheerleader’s outfit? Eddie was ready for this day to end.
The new guy was introduced as Evan, and Eddie remembered that was Britany’s boyfriend’s name. So this must be the right one. The other guy must be something on the side. Eddie hadn’t expected Brittany to be that kind of girl, but sometimes it was hard to tell. Not to mention the other guy was way better looking. Part of Eddie was disappointed. He had thought Brittany was better than that. On the other hand, maybe it just meant her relationship wasn’t that solid. Maybe Eddie had a chance after all…
Eddie felt like the odd man out, standing there doing nothing. There really wasn’t anything else to be done other than wait, and the three of the seemed to be more invested in one another. Eddie kept near the door in case Evan had been followed, but after a little while it seemed like no one else was coming. He could hear muffled noises in the distance. There were definitely sirens outside, which raised his hopes. Shortly after he heard a few gunshots. Either the gunmen had turned on one another or the police had entered! The sounds died down, and Eddie heard what he thought sounded like cheers. Feeling bold enough, he peeked out the door.
Two officers were walking down the hallway. They saw him and immediately pulled out their guns. Eddie threw pen the door and put his hands in the air, a grin spreading across his face.
“Oh thank you! We need a paramedic in here, a girl’s been shot!”

At Brit’s introduction, and Aly’s later mention of him, Evan gave a small, polite nod towards Eddie. He was glad they had the guy there to help out, he seemed to have helped Aly greatly. But, he was more interested in the two girls he knew than the guy he didn’t. Which might be selfish, or cold, but he didn’t even think about that at the moment.
“Projection? You mean, I want to kiss you Aly? Ah, have you been reading my diary? And I thought the lock I put on it would hold.” he whined, it not lost on him how weak the girl was, how strained her voice sounded. She needed help, and soon, he didn’t think she would last too much longer like this. But he was only going off what he saw in movies as well. He really didn’t want to have to, he had enough of being potential bait, but he prepared himself in case he needed to start singing again, so the others could sneak her out. He just hoped that the police would put down their donuts quick enough so that he didn’t have to go to that effort.
“Huh? What’re you talking about?” he wondered aloud, looking back at Brit, and it didn’t click until her sister mentioned cheerleader. Brittany looked like a cheerleader, maybe a bloody one, but still, a cheerleader. She even had mostly blonde hair to boot. It wasn’t a getup he expected to ever see his girlfriend in, except maybe on Halloween. “Trying to copy me Al, with the pranks?” he teased, before turning back to the injured girl. After a long stare. “Well. All I can say is, thank you. It’s not even my birthday too.” He laughed. He had to laugh.
And then Eddie called out for help, and it wasn’t long before the requested paramedics came into the room. Evan pulled away, letting them get to Aly, as he moved to Brittany’s side and took her hand. “She’ll be okay.”

When Aly said that she heard whay Brittany said, she smirked, "You must be hallucinating," she said, but it was more teasing, not angry the way it would have been under any other circumstances. "I didn't say anything of the sort," she insisted, but she still had a smirk on her face. She took her phone and called Aly's dad. She hadn't heard Aly call him already as she'd been looking for Evan so she wasn't aware of the voicemail.
He answered the phone at once. "Brittany! Are you with Aly? She said she'd been hurt--I'm on my way to the school!" His voice sounded full of worry. Brittany realized that Aly must have called him but didn't waste time asking him.
"She's been shot but she's okay. The paramedics are here. It would be better to meet us at the hospital," she told him on the phone. "Have you called my mom?"
"I have. She's on her way to. Are you okay?" he asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine," Brittany said. "It's just Aly."
"How did she get shot?" he asked. "The gang thing is all over the news but why Aly?" his voice was strained as if he was on the edge of tears.
"The...gun was pointed at me," she answered quietly, "Aly pushed me out of the way and saved me," she admitted, looking over at the girl as she spoke to her father. Aly had saved her life. It really was something. The rest of the conversation was a bit of a blur, but Aly's father agreed he'd go to the hospital and would meet them there. He said he'd tell Brit's mom to go too.
When the paramedics came in, Brittany was glad for the comfort of Evan. "I know...she'll be fine..." she said, "it's just...this....is crazy," she shook her head. "I mean...maybe...maybe this is really shallow," Brittany said, "but Aly saved my life...she got shot while she was pushing me out of the way of the bullet--it was to my back so I couldn't see everything...but that's what happened. After all that...how am I every supposed to prank her back for setting me up to look like a cheerleader?" she asked, looking over at Evan sideways, she had a slight smirk on her face to indicate that she was joking a bit, but still it was mostly serious. Everything had been said and done now and she knew that the dynamic between them would be forever changed.
