So Brit had found a way out of it. She wore her PJ's to school. Thats okay. Aly had a plan. She just needed to wait. This was too good. Rumor around the school was Tyler had been seen flirting with a girl who resembled Brit. It was great. It just brought a smirk to Aly's lips. This prank was good. Aly knew she was in for payback and big time, but it was so worth it. Just to see Brit come to school with blond hair, or rather orange blond but still. Aly wondered what Evan though. Sucker. Like she gave a crap.
Aly knew Brits schedule. So when she knew Brit would be in the locker room it was easy. Aly slipped in and stole Brits clothes and replaced them once again with a cheerleader uniform. This was too good. Aly laughed at the idea and went about her day. Aly spent her day avoiding getting rammed over and wait...with a camera to see Brit in the cheerleader outfit. it would be classic and was sure to make its way into the yearbook. Aly would make sure of it.
Aly rounded the corner to go to her locker. Luckily the locker mate was smart enough not to touch or take anything. Aly closed her locker and continued on. It was lunch time now. She was going to go grab some fruit and sit in a corner and wait. However she did not have to wait long. It was like fate was shining down upon her. "Oh Brit...that is such a good look for you..." Aly told her with a smile.
"I think you should wear that more often." Aly said with a laugh. Aly was standing at one end of the hall and was slowly walking toward Brit unaware of the danger a head of them. Aly saw the guy round the corner. Then she saw the gun. Aly froze for an instant. The guy raised the gun to Brits back. Aly only had seconds to respond. She did not do much. All Aly did was shove Brit to the side. It was a push. Had there not been a gun it would be mistaken for a fight. But Aly shoved Brit back into a class room as a shot echoed through the halls. Aly ducked into the classroom with Brit. The pain was not felt until moments late. Aly touched her shoulder and upper chest on her right side....."Karma is a bitch...I got shot..." Aly said scared, but trying to maintain her composure.

Brittany stomped down the hall with malice in her eyes. She was going to kill Alyson Durand! She stopped down the hall with blonde hair and wearing a cheerleading uniform! People started but Brittany didn't care. Her hands were balled into fists and she let each foot stomp as she moved.
Spotting Aly, Brit's eyes narrowed. "I'm going to kill you!" she yelled at her step-sister as she came closer to her. She was facing Aly, her back to everything else. She didn't see the guy with the gun. Everything else happened fast...a blur. The gun shot sound...Brittany hitting the hard tile floor, her head smashing to the ground....
She wasn't knocked out, but she held her throbbing head as slowly got up only to see her step-sister, blood gushing from her arm. Brittany's eyes bugged out. "Oh my god!" she screamed, looking around frantically. Someone had left a hoodie on one of the desks and Brit ran across the room and grabbed it, running back to Aly. "I....I think we have...to stop the blood," she stammered.
She could hear more gun shots and people screaming as she wrapped the sweatshirt around Aly's arm, hoping that that help. "We have to get out of site," she said, pushing the other girl slightly as she crawled on her hands and knees hoping that no one came into the classroom. There was blood on her hands from Aly's arm and suddenly Brittany forgot all about her blonde hair and cheerleading uniform that she was wearing...

So far, Eddie's first day of school in this new world had been very much like a rollercoaster. After starting out the day by making a complete fool of himself, he had a good first class in Drama where he was able to meet the director of the show I which he was cast as the lead male. His classmates then proceeded to give him a lot of attention throughout the period, both positive and negative. He was shy at first, but it was hard not to feel good about being the center of attention, and he left class feeling like he might have made a few new friends.
His other morning classes had their ups and downs as well, and Eddie started off to the cafeteria hoping it would be the next up instead of a down. Or worse, it could be like a loop where he might throw up! Eddie laughed to himself. Even if he didn't make friends, he could always amuse himself with his own lame jokes! Suddenly, Eddie was broken from his reverie by two very sharp sounds. They echoed through the hallways, disguising their origin. Eddie stopped in his tracks. He had heard rifles fire, and though this sounded quite different it had the same sort of violent snap, only not quite so harsh. Then the announcement floated over the air, and Eddie wasted no time ducking into a classroom. It was empty, so he quickly shut off all the lights and scrambled to hide beneath the teacher's desk. Hopefully, the assaulters would think it was an empty classroom and leave it be.
Minutes felt like hours, and Eddie grew increasingly agitated. He had no clue what was going on. Whoever was shooting up the school could be anywhere, an though Eddie was certain he'd hear anyone walk by the door, he was still very on edge.He heard a slight commotion outside of the room. There was another snap, this time louder, closer. He heard what had to be two girls just outside the classroom. He couldn't just sit there and hide... he had to help if he could.
Eddie slowly peeked out from behind the desk. He saw a cheerleader with bright blonde hair pulling a girl into the room. She grabbed a hoodie from off the desk and began wrapping her friend in it. The friend had been shot. Eddie got up from behind the desk.
“Quick, get in here!” he whispered, dashing towards the door. “She was shot? Where?” Eddie moved quickly to the door, shutting and locking it. “We have to move her so they can't see up if they look in, but very carefully. We don't want to make anything any worse than...” Eddie looked back at the pair and finally realized the cheerleader was the girl he had met earlier in the morning.
“Brittany?”

Aly was in shock. Her body registered the shot, but not the pain. it took a while. Everything happened at the speed of light one moment Brit was there, then she was gone and now back. Aly held the hoodie that Brit wrapped around her arm. "I think...thats the first time...we have ever agreed." There was blood all down Aly's arm as she crawled into the classroom. She stopped crawling, "This should help the blood for now...." Or so she hoped. Gun shots woulds could be bad, but bleeding was worse. With each drop of blood Aly grew weaker, but for now she was just fine. She had not lost a large amount of blood yet, thanks to the hoodie. Aly was bleeding but not as much at the moment.
Aly heard another voice and looked at the guy. Then she looked at Brit, "Look can you two stop the love fest? Is he another member of your friends...and here I thought it did not extend past the three stooges..." To someone else that might be mean, but for Brit and Aly that was normal. Aly needed normal, because panic was slowly setting in. She looked at the guy and then Brit once more.
She was expecting a witty comeback from Brit at any moment. She needed normal right now, but this was far from normal. "Okay lets move....its okay for now...i think...." Aly said crawling more into the classroom to find a place that would hopefully keep them all out of sight. "What the hell is going on?" she almost felt like this was a dream and any time now she would wake up. her prank was gone...the furthest thing from her mind, "Are you okay Brit?" She asked. She did have some concern for her step sister. Okay Aly had a lot of concern for Brit...hell she just pushed the girl out of the way of a gun...and then Brit got a hoodie to stop the blood..if that did not show they cared for each other...then again odds are they would never admit it. "Hi I am Aly...you are?" she asked the guy.

Brittany was at a loss for what to do. She could hear gun shots outside the classroom. She could hear screaming. This was bad...really bad...and getting worse. The sweatshirt held the blood in a bit, but they needed something more. They needed to get to a hospital. Despite the blood and her throbbing head, Brittany couldn't help but wonder if anyone else was injured...was Evan okay? Whay about Mal and Patch and Ian and Zac and J.J.?
Her world was spinning and being turned upside down. Aly had saved her life and in return gotten shot. Then Eddie popped out...as if out of nowhere. "New kid," she said, not even realizing that he probably hadn't recognized her because of the cheerleading uniform. Brittany wasn't thinking about that at the moment. "She's...she's been shot," she said, the panic in her voice was quite clear. "I...don't know what to...do...is there...is there a first aid kit?" she asked, rather frantically, as she attempted to help Aly move behind the desk. "A bandage would be better," she reasoned.
She ignored Aly's comments about her friends. Aly had saved her life and gotten shot. Brittany wasn't thinking about teasing her now. She wasn't thinking about pranks or all the reasons she claimed to hate her step sister. "This is Eddie," she said, when Aly asked. "He's new here."
She managed to get her step-sister behind the desk and started digging through the drawers right away. There has to be a first aid kit. "Or should we just call 911. I have a phone...somewhere," she said, too frantic and in shock to even really look in bag for her phone.

Eddie was stunned for a moment. He hadn't recognized Brittany in the cheerleader get-up. Her sister must have found a way to get her out of those pajamas. But there were more important things than pranks right now. Aly, the girl with the bullet wound, was safely out of sight, but she was still bleeding.
“Okay, I uh... I can't see really where she got shot. Was it more in the chest or in the arm? That's important.” Eddie tried hard to remember everything he could about puncture wounds. It seemed like being an Eagle Scout might actually pay off. “Whatever you do, don't pull that hoodie away, it'll only reopen the wound. If you see the blood starting to seep all the way through, we'll need something more to stop it. Umm...” The smell of the blood was pretty gross, but there was nothing to be done about that.
Eddie looked down at Aly. “Hi, Aly. My name's Eddie. How are you feeling? Are you getting light headed? Don't talk, just nod. And try not to move around.” If she lost too much blood, she might go into shock. Only a paramedic could help her then, and there was no way of know if or when help would arrive. Enough kids had cell phones that someone probably called for help, but it still wouldn't hurt to call and tell them there was an injury in this room. Hopefully that would be made a priority.
“Okay, Brittany. When you find your phone, call for help. Watch this girl for a second, I have to get a chair.” Eddie crept out from behind the desk and grasped the leg of a desk chair. Unfortunately, the desk was attached. Eddie prayed that none of the attackers walked past, and quickly stood and pulled the whole desk over by Aly's feet.
“Aly, I'm going to lift your feet. This will help keep you from going into shock. I'm really sorry if it hurts.” Very carefully, Eddie lifted both of her legs and propped them on the chair. He hoped it wasn't too painful for her. He looked up at Brittany. He didn't know the other girl, but it seemed as if Brittany cared about her. She must be a friend.
“She's going to be okay, Brittany. I'm sure help is already on the way.”

Aly was fine besides being in pain she was fine. Then again she had not had a chance to take in everything. She had been shot, but that did not register. All that went through Aly's mind was that she was in pain. She listened to everyone talk. The words not totally registering in her head. She just could not wrap her head around any of it. She was still in some sort of state of shock.
"Hi Eddie...its more the shoulder...it just looks...looks like the chest." Aly said trying to keep panic from her voice. She was usually the picture of perfection. Calm in any situation but this situation was hard to handle. "Brit it will be okay...I am sure others have called 911..." She was trying to help her step sister because focusing on her helped Aly not freak out.
Aly moved so her legs were up on the chair. "Thanks...I am fine...besides the pain and feeling a little sick from the sight of blood I don't feel any different." Which was the truth. Aly felt fine for now. "All rooms should have a first Air kit, usually near the fire extinguisher." Aly knew that because hello, she was Aly and she knew a lot. Mostly thanks to knowing people on the student council.
She tried to keep her breathing labored. There was so much blood but it was temporarily not bleeding so much due to the hoodie which was good. "I don't plan to move anything. The longer this hoodie stays the less I have to see blood. I can't stand the sight of blood." Aly said. right now she was trying to talk because if she did not talk then she would focus else where and right now that was not good.

Why was everyone else calmer than she was? Brittany was totally tripping out. She was still taking short shallow breaths...still trying to control herself. She wanted to cry even but something kept her from that...she wasn't sure what....
"Right you find the first aid kit...I'll call," she said. She was really glad that Eddie was there because he seemed much calmer than she was. He seemed to actually know what he was doing while Brittany was at a complete loss. She reached into her bag, her cell was quite easy to find really. She'd been just freaking out before.
She dialed 911. It took awhile to get all the information through. When she finally finished the call she looked at the others. "They're already on their way," she said. "That's good. And I told them about Aly so someone should come here as soon as its safe." She was slightly calmer now. Aly was talking...she seemed fine. She wanted to ask how her step-sister could possibly fine at a time like this, but figuring there was no reason to draw attention to the wound.
"First aid kit...do we have one yet?" she asked, looking at Eddie. "I think if we just like wrap it up it should hold the blood in better than a hoodie," she said. "But I don't really know...I think I'm getting all this from like movies and stuff," she admitted. "You seem like you know what you're doing though..."
She was talking a lot now, mostly because it kept her distracted. With her phone still in her hand she wondered if she should text Evan and the rest of their friends to see if they were okay... Would they even be able to text back? The worry in Brittany's face was quite clear as she clutched onto her phone so tightly that her knuckles were starting to turn white. She was at a complete loss of what to do.

Eddie was starting to worry. He had come into the situation acting confident, but he did everything he knew to do. Panic was slowly creeping into his heart. He could feel it beating faster and faster. But the situation wasn't out of control, they just needed to be patient. He hoped he would be able to.
“Good, your shoulder. That's good. I mean, not good, but... well, better than your chest.” Eddie had no idea what it felt like to be shot, but Aly seemed to be handling it well. Eddie wasn't sure if that was a good thing or a sign of shock. “Just to be safe, if you feel it sucking in on the hoodie, you let me know right away, okay?”
The fire extinguisher was on the other side of the room. Eddie tried to stay low as he hurried through the maze of desks, just in case one of the attackers walked by. No doubt they'd see him anyway, but he felt it was better than not doing anything at all. He spied a small case on the fall next to the fire extinguisher. He opened it and grabbed a roll of bandage and all the gauze that was in there, and a pair of plastic gloves. He also grabbed a jar of ibuprofin. He quickly shut the case and crouch walked back to Brittany and Aly.
“Okay,” he started, trying to hide the fear that was rising within him. He looked over at Brittany. He couldn't show any weakness right now, they needed someone to take charge. “We have to make a choice. If we take away the hoodie, it will pull away whatever clotting the wound has done so far. That's bad. We don't know how much blood has been lost, and losing more would be a big risk.” Eddie quickly slipped on the pair of plastic gloves, just in case. “However, it's starting to bleed through and if it isn't close to clotting, switching to the bandages now would be better in the long run, in case the ambulance doesn't get here soon. I think it would be best to leave it be for now, but if either of you know anything that might change things, I need to know. Like is does she have hemophilia?” He looked down at Aly. She was starting to look a little pale, but Eddie didn't really know if she was pale to begin with or not. “Aly, are you a hemophiliac?”

Aly was freaking out. Her breathing had gotten faster and tears were on the edge. Honestly Aly had no idea how she was not crying. The shot hurt like hell and there was blood all over her and Brit. Not to mention Brit was freaking out. It was hard to keep calm. Yet, Aly was trying. Mostly because everything had not really set in. To Aly this was a bad dream right now. The gravity of the situation had not set in. even as she laid down with her feet in the air all her mind was saying was 'dream, dream, dream, wake up, wake up, wake up.'
The panic set in when Aly saw Brit's face. Sure she might not care about her step sister, well technically thats a lie, but the worry on Brit's face made Aly worry some more. what if they came back...what of Brit did get shot and Eddie...and her...what if they all died...what if she died....Aly could feel the panic rising. She heard Brit and Eddie talk, but no words were making it into her head.
Not until Eddie asked about a blood disorder...."N...No...I don't..." she said between breaths. She felt a tad sick now. Perhaps it was the pain or the loss of blood, but she felt a tad sick. "Brit...maybe...maybe you should call...dad...and ...and your mom...they must be freaking out....it must...be on the news..." Aly said between breaths....she felt tears falling slowly down her cheeks. She was so scared. One thing she remembered from health class was blood loss was worse then the a gun shot she would be okay once she got to the hospital.
