[OOC: I'm leaving it open because Miami is still MIA so anyone really can just tag in ] The game was well under way when Sloane finally arrived at the football field. Everywhere she looked, people were cheering, some were even chanting Nolan's name. As she made her way up the top of the bleachers, she heard the whistle being blown. It was half time and the score was favouring the home team and she couldn't help but smile. Pushing her skirt down, she sat beside someone she didn't recognise and watched as the cheerleaders did a pretty raunchy number. She still didn't understand how showing their fannies would make their football team any better but Sloane was personally having a good time so she didn't complain. The game was back on again a few minutes later and soon, the whole field was shaking with cheers as the game ended with the home team scoring five points ahead of their rivals. Sloane climbed down the bleachers when everybody did and when she reached the bottom, she could clearly see Nolan with a cheerleader in his arms and on his lips. The blonde bimbo had wrapped her legs around the male junior's torso and was sucking his life force it seemed. It shouldn't have fazed her, it usually never did but there was denying the squeeze around her chest. Didn't she do just that and more just last night? She had no right to feel anything but there it was, the unmistakable shattering of her heart. She had felt it the time Nolan and May broke it off with her and she felt it a few days ago when she met Nolan again in school after summer was over. And now she was feeling it again. "What the fuck..." she breathed.

Kayla had attended the football game as she tended to attend all of the games. She liked watching sports. She'd grown up doing so with her father and brother and even her mother joined sometimes although she would usually just sit there and ask what the rules were over and over again because she never seemed to remember them no matter how many times they were explained. She could get excited when the team scored because that was obvious but the other things that people cheered for like first downs or great blocks were beyond her.
So the fact that her mother had skipped the game and it was just her and her dad, didn't really faze her. It was pretty typical, especially since her older brother had gone off to college. Normally, being seen anywhere with a parent was pretty embarrassing but Kayla had never really been one to try and look cool, plus, tons of parents attended the football games, so she hadn't really thought of it as a big deal.
"You guys got this," he father said with a minute left to go. They had the ball and were ahead and given that they other team needed at least 2 touchdowns to get ahead, it did look very promising for the home team. "I'm gonna go grab the car now. Meet me around the corner? The parking lot's going to be nuts," he said.
"Sure," Kayla said with a smile. Her dad knew that she always liked to stay until the very ends of the games even if a win or loss was evident. He headed out and Kayla stayed till the end, where all they had to do was take a knee since there was no chance of the other team scoring. Kayla cheered along with everyone else, following the crowd and heading down the bleachers so she could go meet up with her dad.
She was reaching the bottom when she almost ran into Sloane Taylor, who she sort of knew from track and such but had never actually spoken to. It was a near miss, Kayla hadn't even touched her, but yet, Sloane swore at her. Kayla bit down on her bottom lip. "Oh...um...sorry," she said, the expression on the brunettes face clearly showed that she was intimidated by the older girl. "I didn't think I hit you...but it is crowded...so sorry if I did..." she said trailing off and lowering her eyes. Her long brown hair was down instead of in it's usual ponytail and she was dressed casually in a pair of jeans and a fitting Gould Silver football T-shirt in support of the team.
She chewed on her bottom lip, hoping that Sloane Taylor, who didn't seem to be in the best of moods, didn't rip her head off...

If she wasn't so consumed with the sight in front of her, she would have appreciated the girl beside her. As such, her thoughts were so rattled that she turned to the other girl with a quizzical look. "What?" she blurted out with a deep quizzical look on her face. Trying to grasp what had just happened in addition to what the good looking brunette beside her was saying, Sloane was thoroughly confused.
'Hit...crowded...sorry...?'
"What? No, you didn't hit..." she took a deep breath and repeated that a few more times until she smoothed her features over cleanly. Forming a smile on her face, she turned to look at the girl beside her and finally saw and appreciated the girl's face. And body. She was a bit on the buff side and Sloane remembered why. She was on the track team with her, though this girl was more of a Cross Country runner than shorts.
Struggling to remember her name, Sloane finally came up with it. "Kayla, right?" She smiled, placing her hand on the other girl's arm, squeezing it ever so lightly. "Sorry I was a bit distracted back there. You didn't hit me. You couldn't have." And after she said that, Kayla was shoved against her and as their heights weren't that far apart, the two girls' noses were practically touching. All Sloane had to do was tilt her head and they would have been making out.
Tch, Sloane get your mind out of the gutter.
Pulling Kayla and herself away from the crowd, Sloane found a spot where she was at a vantage point. She could clearly see Nolan who was now cheering with his team mates and the blonde was clinging on to his arm. She took in with delight that he was trying to shake her off ever so subtly. It didn't mean he wasn't into her but it didn't mean he was either so that was a good sign. Sloane didn't know why it was but it was.
"Sorry, hectic with all the winning right?" Sloane offered a chuckle. "Am I keeping you from anything?"

Kayla felt infinitely smaller as she watched the confusion on the other girl's face. It was pretty clear that she hadn't even noticed Kayla there! Oh, how silly she was to think someone like Sloane Taylor would ever notice someone like her! It didn't matter that there were rumors that Sloane hooked up with girls and guys. Just because the redhead liked girls didn't mean she'd ever go for someone like Kayla...
Sure, Kayla in no way had a crush on Sloane, but she'd be lying if she said she'd never thought about it. After all, there weren't really many openly gay girls in the school and while Kayla herself, wasn't open about it, it still gave her even fewer prospects. And knowing Sloane did hook up with girls from time to time, sometimes Kayla wondered what it would be like.
And just then someone knocked into Kayla and the next thing she new she was so close to her....so close they could have kissed, not that Kayla had the guts to pull anything like that. But her heart raced as she steadied herself, distancing herself from the almost touching closeness they'd just had. She needed to distance herself further...being that close to a girl had been a little too exciting. Kayla figured she was better off bolting and going to find her dad...
But before she could do anything, Sloane gave recognition to her, stating her name. "Um...yeah, that's me," she said a little awkwardly as Sloane took her by the arm and pulled her away from the crowd. Kayla had no idea that the older girl was also keeping her eye on Nolan.
"Yeah, it was an awesome game though, even if it is crazy now," Kayla said with a smile, shaking her head when Sloane asked her if there was somewhere she needed to be. "Nope, not really, I was just going to head home, but I'm not in a rush or anything." And she really wasn't. Sure her dad was waiting for her but she very much doubted that Sloane would hold her up more than a few minutes. Plus, Kayla's parents trusted her. She'd never given them reason not to, so if something did come up she knew she could easily text her dad and tell her to go without her and that she'd be back later. It was one of the perks of being a good kid.
"So do you and everyone have big plans to celebrate the win?" Kayla asked vaguely. She was never in the loop as far as parties were concerned but there usually were some after games, especially when they won.

There was no denying that Kayla felt what she had when they were knocked into each other but Sloane didn't mention it lest the girl was actually gay but didn't want to be outed. Sloane had no reason to be the instigator of public humiliation. She respected other people's privacy inspite of herself. But Sloane had plans for this girl. There was no future with them obviously but for now, Kayla was going to have to be used.
She concentrated on Kayla but kept an eye on Nolan who was still celebrating with his teammates. And that stupid cheerleader.
"I don't do parties." She replied distractedly and when she realised that Nolan was looking her way, Sloane turned to Kayla and forced a smile on her face. "Do me a favour and be still for the next three seconds." She said in a rush before pitching forward and capturing Kayla's lips with hers. There wasn't any emotion save anger in that kiss and Sloane kept apologising to Kayla for it.
Sloane broke it off before Kayla could and Sloane stepped backwards, leaving ample space between them for a slap to be intercepted. "Sorry. I'm really sorry. I could have liked that but right now things are a little hectic and I'm sorry I used you like that. I'll send you home now." It was the first Sloane was ever genuinely apologetic, something that was rare in the redhead. But she had actually never used someone so blatantly to stir things up.
She was selfish, that part was kind of obvious but throughout her whole life, she had never done anything for the sole intent on hurting people. She just hoped Kayla wasn't too hurt over this.
Placing a hand on Kayla's shoulder, Sloane looked at the other girl with a forced smile. "Um...wanna go...?"
[OOC: Wow that took a sudden idiotic turn...sorry Kayla!!]

It all happened so fast...faster than Kayla had expected. Maybe she'd been idealistic about the whole kissing a girl thing but she hadn't expected it to go so fast. Not to mention in front of most of the student body and their families that were busy existing after the game. She stood there very still, sort of just staring at Sloane as she pretty much told Kayla straight up that it was a terrible kiss that she didn't even like had had just used her...not to mention, humiliated her in front of her peers.
Tears haunted the back of her eye sockets and she willed them not to come. The last thing she needed was to start crying right there. If the humiliation wasn't already enough that would certainly intensify it beyond belief. But it was hard not too... Kayla had only been kissed once before. She'd been 11 and it had been on a dare. Since then, well, since then she'd been avoiding the subject and trying to decipher who she wanted to kiss...boys or girls or both... And just as she was starting to come to terms with it all, the fact that she was probably gay, here comes Sloane Taylor just forcing a kiss on her and telling her how horrible it was.
Kayla slowly let her eyes move about her. She tried to gauge the faces of those she saw...who had seen the kiss and who hadn't. Somehow a wave a relief came over her when it hit her that the person she was looking for wasn't there. Or if Amy was there, Kayla couldn't spot her at that moment. She thought about the time she saw Amy and that girl...maybe Amy hadn't wanted the kiss at all... Maybe Kayla had been wrong about the whole thing...
Still processing her thoughts, Sloane placed her hand on Kayla's shoulder and asked her if she wanted to go. Still feeling rejected by Sloane's earlier words, Kayla took them to mean did she want to go, as if leave so Sloane could be on her own. After all, why would Sloane want them both to go anywhere together? She'd already informed Kayla that she was a sucky kisser who was only worth kissing to...make someone else jealous? Too caught up in her own thoughts she wasn't perceptive enough to notice Sloane's glances at Nolan. But what else could it be? How else had Sloane used her?
She nodded her head slowly and pushed some of her long brown hair behind one ear. "Yeah...I can go...um...leave you alone," she said quietly, still nodding. She hadn't said one word about the kiss. She hadn't gotten outwardly angry about it or admitted that it had excited her for the moments before Sloane mentioned how bad it was. And it hadn't occurred to her that perhaps her own perceptions of what just had happened were mildly distorted. Sloane had kissed her in front of everyone, told her that it was bad and that she had just used her, and now she wanted Kayla to go away. That's what had happened, and Kayla had just taken it.

Being as perceptive as Sloane was was a curse. A huge colossal curse. Especially when it meant she could see Kayla struggling to keep her tears in. She was actually doing pretty well and if Sloane was dense, she would have thought Kayla was being quite cavalier. As it were, Sloane felt really bad. When Kayla replied to Sloane's question with those words though, the redheaded senior felt obligated to turn things around.
"Leave me alone? Kayla, don't get me wrong. I'm not asking you to leave. I kind of understand if you want to. You do realise that I just used you? Not the other way around. To be honest, I kind of thought you were going to slap me and ask me to get the hell away from you." She was being way too emotionally honest and for Sloane that was a big thing. It wasn't necessarily a good thing. Not to Sloane anyway but it was there. And it irked Sloane to no end.
Thank you Nolan fricking Ahlstrom.
"I've got my car parked at the back. You...you wanna get out of here or something?" Sloane asked. "With me?" She added as an afterthought.

Kayla blinked as Sloane explained that she wasn't asked her to leave but then went on about the using her stuff. As much as it still hurt thinking that her first kiss with a female was because the other girl had used her, she couldn't help but think that in a way, she'd used Sloane as well. After all, Kayla didn't have feelings for Sloane. She was just a pretty girl that Kayla didn't know all too well. But those few moments of kissing, despite being in public of course, Kayla had actually enjoyed...that was before Sloane explained what it was about.
"I'm not really a slapper," Kayla said simply as if that was an explanation, but it was the only one she had, given that despite the fact that Sloane had kissed her and not the other way around, Kayla wasn't about to spill her guts about the whole liking girls thing. Not here. Not now. And probably not to Sloane.
She nodded when Sloane asked if she wanted to get out of there with her. She wasn't sure why but she wanted to stick around...maybe there was chance of more kissing. "Yeah," she said, "that might be okay. Just...don't use me again," Kayla said. After all, she didn't want to come off as a total push over or anything, because she wasn't. She sort of wanted to add 'if you want to kiss me again make sure its because you want to' but she didn't have the guts to utter those words.
As they headed toward the parking lot, Kayla texted her dad to let him know she was going out with a friend and would be home later. He returned the text quickly telling her to have fun and not to stay out too late. Kayla was glad that he parents trusted her. Once that was taken care of, she slipped her cell back into the back pocket of her jeans and glanced over at the redhead walking beside her. "Where do you want to go?" she asked.

Despite the situation, Sloane had to hold back her laughter at Kayla's response after everything Sloane said. It was pretty hilarious and though Sloane could see that Kayla was still peeved over the whole thing, the redhead thought that it had blown over and they could move on. She was relieved when Kayla agreed to go off with her. "Don't worry...I won't." And Sloane meant it. She could feel Nolan's eyes on her when they left for her car.
She then remembered the condition of her car after his brothers had gone out to get pizza. Groaning, she told Kayla to stay out of the car for a sec as she cleaned it up a bit. "Stupid boys...don't know how to clean up." She grumbled as she deposited the pizza boxes and empty beer cans into a nearby disposal bin. Once she was sure the car was clean, she opened the passenger seat and ushered Kayla in. "Sorry, I have three little piggies as brothers." She was doing a lot of apologising lately...
"Uh, I was thinking of the pier but if you have anywhere else in mind, I wouldn't mind going wherever you wanna go." Sloane shrugged as she started her car. Despite the condition of the car in and out, the engines purred like a little kitten. The boys and herself usually spent most of their allowance on making their car just that much better. They just hadn't settled on a paint job and thought that the appearance of the car wasn't what really mattered anyway.

Kayla wasn't sure why she believed Sloane when she said she wouldn't take advantage of her anymore, but for some reason she did. Maybe part of her wanted another kiss though...just a less vengeful one. Kayla wasn't looking for anything meaningful...not from Sloane Taylor at least, but it would be nice to not be informed she she'd been used right after it.
Still, she could feel the tiny hairs on her arms standing up, just at the possibility of kissing the girl once more. Despite the circumstances something had just felt natural about it...like that's how kisses were supposed to be. She pressed her lips together as she followed Sloane to her car, as if the kiss was still lingering on her lips.
When Sloane mentioned the status of the car Kayla just shrugged. "I have a brother too, I know how it is," she said simply, leaning against her car as she waited for her to clean up. She was going to offer to help but Sloane seemed to grab it all and have it under control before she could really offer. Once it was all cleaned up, Kayla got into the front seat and buckled up.
"The pier is fine," she said. "Always fun," she added with a smile as she tucked some of her hair behind her ear. It was at this point, the point that they were really alone that she started to feel a little awkward about the situation. She was already picturing what Amy would say about it all if Kayla recounted the story to her...although was this something she really wanted to admit to her friend?
