The drive was relatively quiet so Sloane switched on the stereo and AC/DC blasted throughout the car. She lowered the volume and continued driving. "So how's the running going?" Sloane asked, putting her elbow on the window sill and leaning her head in her palm. She looked at Kayla sideways while keeping an eye on the road.
To be honest before today, Sloane wouldn't have thought she would ever interact with Kayla. The girl was too quiet. She ran good but other than that, Sloane didn't think she would have noticed Kayla at all. How long had they been in the same school together? Was Kayla in Gould before? She couldn't have been though. They competed against each other.
"So why haven't I seen you before? Were you from Silver?" Not the best pick up line but it was a start. She had admitted to using the girl, the least she could do was be nice.

"Its good," Kayla said when Sloane asked her about running. "I'm ready for first meet of the year," she said, partly wondering what she was doing here. It wasn't as if she and Sloane were friends, in fact, they'd barely said two word to each other before Sloane kissed her...and what did that mean, Kayla was going to follower blindly now?
Had Kayla not been so confused over her own sexuality, she knew she'd never be here right now. She would have walked away right after the kiss. Maybe she was sort of coming to terms with the fact she preferred girls but she still liked to try and find ways to deny that although she wasn't so good at that part. Amy saw to the fact that Kayla had trouble denying it although Kayla was wildly aware that all this was unknown to her blonde friend.
"What about you?" she asked, eying the red head. As she listened to the music Sloane played, she silently inspected her short unpolished nails and busied herself looking out the window, when really she was very deep in thought about it all. Really...what was she doing?
"Yeah, I went to Silver freshman and sophomore year," Kayla said with a nod. She hadn't known who Sloane was at first either. As far as Kayla had known she was just a girl who she competed against. It wasn't until the two schools combined last year that Kayla had learned of Sloane's infamous reputation. "Its kind of weird that the school's just gone now," Kayla said simply, watching as Sloane pulled into a parking spot by the pier. Her heard wasn't exactly pounding but it was certainly beating rapidly as she wondered what more Sloane wanted from her. Was it more kissing or had the older girl simply felt bad for the kiss she'd already given Kayla?
Kayla unbuckled her seat belt and positioned herself so she was sort of facing Sloane in the car. She bit down on her lower lip for a moment, looking at the redhead. "So, what do you want to do?" she asked innocently.

"That's good, that's good." Sloane smiled albeit a little bit distractedly. All she could think of was the guilt building up inside of her for using Kayla. It was horrifying already to know that she had used someone. Especially someone as innocent as Kayla. Who was most probably a closeted gay. Or at least confused. Very confused. Augh, everything is so messed up.
"Me? Two more meets this year and maybe the scouts will notice me. Get me a scholarship probably." Not that she needed it. But it paid to be noticed at least. She knew a few schools that boast an excellent track team. She actually wanted to be part of that. Who knows, she could also try for the Olympics. Of course, that was a stretch but still, didn't hurt to dream.
Sloane just nodded when Kayla confirmed that she was indeed from Silver before the merge. It was no wonder the two haven't met before this. Her concern for her old school was endearing but to be perfectly honest, if Gould had burnt down to the ground, she wouldn't have cared. She didn't have any emotional attachment to the building. It was a building, no more no less.
Killing the engine, Sloane turned to Kayla and smiled. "You want to get something to eat first? I'm not opposed to dinner right now." The redhead didn't want her junior to feel used again. The least she could do was buy her dinner first.

Kayla nodded. She actually had similar aspirations. She would love to make the Olympic Track team in 2012, but she honestly wasn't even sure how something like that would work. She assumed it started with things like scholarships and running track in college. "I'd love to get a track scholarship too," Kayla said, "they're really hard to come by though, it's not like football, which kind of sucks, but whatever. We'll see what happens. Good luck," she told the other girl. She liked talking about running when she was talking about running she could zone in on that and not think about all the other things that her brain wanted to think about. "Yeah, dinner would be good," Kayla said, "I didn't really eat much before the game so I could definitely eat something now," she confirmed. "Is there anywhere you wanted to go? I've been to this burger place by the pier that I know is pretty good if you in the mood for that sort of thing...but it really doesn't matter. I'm not really picky or in the mood for anything special so I could go for anything," she added with a shrug. She was going to have dinner with Sloane now...this whole experience was just so surreal. She wasn't sure what to make of it. She unbuckled her seat belt and opened the car door, stepping outside into the cool air. She sort of wished she'd brought a jacket but then again she hadn't really needed it at the game. The beach however was always a few degrees cooler and the breeze didn't help. She crossed her arms, rubbing them slightly as she walked around toward the back of the car where she met up with Sloane Taylor once more. "So, where shall we go?" she asked, sort of looking around. She was a bit hungry, but really, she was wondering if Sloane would kiss her again. Shall we tag for wrap or continue? I'm cool either way - your call

"Track isn't as important as football I guess. It doesn't matter that you can run fast. If you can't tackle a tree down or catch a flying ball, you're screwed." Sloane said with a mirthless chuckle. "Thanks. Luck's really not the reason why I kept winning against Silver's hundred meter runs." She grinned sideways at Kayla, showing that she was joking.
"Ah good, there's a pizza place somewhere and I know there's a good churro stand around." She tilted her head a little ways to the left. "I think we can get the stuff in the car and eat. The weather's a little too cold to be outside." Sloane suggested when they were parked. Once they were out of the car, Sloane turned to Kayla and handed her the car keys.
"You know what, I'll go buy the food and you stay in the car. Warm up 'kay?" Sloane rubbed Kayla's arm and nudged her gently to the car. After getting her order, Sloane went and bought the food before climbing into the car, trying to be careful with the paper bags. She pushed the driver's seat further back to make room. Handing over some stuff to Kayla, Sloane wound down her window just a crack before turning up the heater.
"You warm enough?" Sloane asked before starting on her pizza. Their 'dinner' conversation went quite smoothly to Sloane's surprise and the shy girl often surprised Sloane with her subtle quirks she found most endearing. They were pretty much done with their food yet Sloane was still trying to come up with things to talk about with Kayla.
Though the conversation did have to meet its inevitable pause. "I hope you know this isn't a pity date." Sloane said after just a second of thinking about it. And then after a few seconds of pause, Sloane leaned forward and slipped a hand around Kayla's neck, pulling her close before planting their lips together. Softly at first, Sloane then let Kayla do the rest.

Caught off guard by Sloane rubbing her arms, Kayla just nodded when Sloane offered to get food and told her to wait in the car. She couldn't help but react to the girl's touch. While Sloane wasn't by any means the right girl...she was still a girl, and the first one that Kayla had really had contact with in this manner. Everything in her head was telling at her that there was really no denying it further. She liked girls... It never felt like this with boys...even ones he had thought she might like in the past...
She got back into the car and sat there in silence, letting her mind wander and take in what was going on. Goosebumps still covered her arms but it was more do to her feelings than being cold. The car was decently warm after all.
Sloane returned and Kayla thanked her for the pizza with a small smile. She informed her that yes she was still warm and the rest of their conversation seemed to flow only of course there was one thing that was still nagging Kayla, in the back of her mind. As they finished off their food, tossing the left over rubbish into an empty bag, their conversation lulled. Kayla wasn't sure if Sloane was reading her mind or thinking the same thing or what. All she knew was that the next moment they were kissing.
So they kissed...they kissed for a bit with Kayla allowing herself to lose herself in the kissing...Sloane's lips and skin were soft...not rough like it was with boys... And then another nagging thought plagued Kayla's mind and she pulled away. "I can't do this," she said, her eyes were wide as she shook her head, pushing hair behind her ears, "I've never done anything like this before," she admitted, "and I can't...please...please don't tell anyone...if Amy heard..." she muttered, more talking to herself now, but her ears turned pick at her own mention of Amy's name, as if it was the first time she was letting herself realize her true feelings. "Please...please don't say anything about this...its a mistake...just a mistake," she went on, "I should go. Thanks for everything but I should go...I can call for a ride..." she said her voice trailing off as she placed her hand on the door handle, ready to get out of the car.
OOC: shall we move toward a wrap?

Sloane frowned slightly when Kayla pulled away and started talking about Amy and this being a mistake. The girl was a blabbering mess but Sloane was kind of furious. Trust her to finally be genuinely nice to someone and have it thrown in her face like this. When Kayla reached for the door handle, Sloane pulled her back and locked the door. "Don't. I'll send you home." And Sloane did. The drive back was only filled with Kayla directing Sloane to her house. Once they arrived, Kayla didn't waste a second rushing to her doorstep. Sloane stayed a long time at the drive way just staring at the Whitaker house. It took her a moment to realise that people might find it kind of creepy with her just parked there like that so she turned her car around and drove. It was about two hours when she finally found her way home and she saw a familiar car parked in front of her house. She stopped driving and climbed out of her stationary car. The driver of the other car got out and turned to her, his face angry and confused but she thought it was the most handsome face she'd seen. "What the hell, Sloane? Were you really trying to-" Before he could finish his sentence, Sloane pulled him down to her height and planted her lips on his, pouring all her emotions she never thought she had into the kiss. Almost instinctively, Nolan's arms wrapped around hers and pulled her up, letting her legs dangle in mid air. The boy then let her sit on the trunk of his car and continued to kiss her, almost hungrily. This went on for awhile without any interruptions. Of course, it was one in the morning. No one around was up, not even Sloane's household. When they parted, Sloane had tears in her eyes. "Damn it Nolan. I hate you." [OOC: Just because Miami isn't here to write Nolan, don't mean Sloane can't have her bit of drama. Mwahahha. Sowie Miami. I had to do this ]
