Clinging on to Clara's arms, Kylie looked around the school where the jocks and cheerleaders were getting hyped up for the game later on after school. "Wow, this football game is pretty big huh?" Kylie mused out loud before waving Clara off as she went off to her locker to get her lunch. It was the one time Clara actually left her class early to get lunch with Kylie and the latter was pretty excited.
Dom and Miles couldn't make it but Kylie didn't begrudge them. There was always next week. She couldn't wait! The sprightly brunette deposited her books into her locker before grabbing her one book for French before rejoining Clara and going to the cafeteria.
Choosing safely, a small carton of milk and fruits that oddly looked quite fresh, Kylie immediately set her eyes on an empty table only to be rudely bustled into, making her milk fall off her tray, landing on the floor with a splat. The milk burst from inside and sprayed Kylie's shoes and jeans.
She looked up to tray and look for the person who had knocked her down and saw the boy from English with another dark-haired creep laughing and high fiving. Stomping her feet once on the floor, Kylie swiftly maneuvered around the milk, with Clara right behind her as she marched over to the boy.
Of course she didn't even get that far before she bumped into someone else. "Damn it!" she cursed softly before turning around. "Sorry! I didn't see you." She inspected the other person to see if anything spilled on them.

Liam tried his best to avoid contact with the footballers, not because he didn't like them but because a high five from them could cause a hand some damage.
He'd nod and smile their way and say "we're gonna win" or "Go stomp 'em" just to be in the spirit, after all one had to be when you played on the team.
His main concern right now was to get something in his stomach before the game but nothing too heavy. He picked up some fruit, salad and a couple of milk cartons and went to sit down when he felt someone bump into him.
He looked down and saw a girl not much older than his sister. "What? Eh, its ok clothes are washable." He smiled gently. "Where were you going in a hurry?" Not that it was his business but maybe there was something he could do to help out.

"Seems like it," Clara replied to her foster sister when she commented on the football game. Growing up, Clara had never really watched many sports but she had to admit that she'd come to enjoy them. Watching sports on TV with her foster father was kind of fun...he yelled at the TV which meant she got to yell at the TV, which let out some pent up energy she had. Plus, now that she'd actually learned the rules, when she yelled, she actually knew why she was yelling. She of course had cut out of class early to meet up with Kylie who was her favorite in her foster family. Clara hadn't been so keen on them when she'd first moved in. Growing up, just her and her father had been nothing like living in the quite full household with so many kids. The worst part was perhaps sharing a bathroom and Clara wasn't even one for makeup. But she and Kylie had quickly bonded over a love for cupcakes and she soon learned to appreciate her other foster siblings as well. Okay, well, some more than others, sure but still. When Kylie spilled her milk, Clara glared over at the two guys that laughed. She had the unfortunate pleasure of knowing exactly who they were: Ryan Donovan and Jesse Durnham. Two wanna-be studs in the freshman class that Clara mostly found annoying. As Kylie actually headed toward them to confront them, Clara was right with her. She'd give them a piece of her mind...well, fist rather. Clara was notorious to resorting to violence. Growing up in a not so great neighborhood, Clara's father who had been a cop, later killed on the job in a gang related bust, had taught her to fight. She was a black belt in karate and furthermore, she fought dirty. She didn't have rules or regulations, all that mattered to her was kicking ass. She also was notorious for her quick temper that often brought out this fighting although she was trying to control this on the request of her foster parents who didn't exactly want her running around fighting everyone...even if she could win. Distracted, Kylie ran into someone else. Clara quickly scooted around this to face the boys. Their eyes widened as she actually approached them...actually filled with a bit of fear. "What'cha gonna do, Reyerson?" Ryan Donovan asked boldly. There was no way he was going to let anyone thing he was afraid of some girl, even if he kind of was. Truth be told, he thought Clara was cute. But it was only the first week of school and he'd already watched her get reprimanded several times for swearing in class--the girl had a bit of a potty mouth--and get sent to the principal's office for beating up a kid named Bobby Brookes in their class. Bobby actually had been a cool guy but no one would speak to him since he'd been beat up by a girl. "What, you gonna try and beat us up?" Jesse asked defiantly as he noticed a teacher near by, "Have fun in detention when you do, even if you're only defense is that you're a girl so we won't fight back," he said. Clara looked from the teacher, back to the boys. "You lucked out but I have my eyes on you two," she told them, "if you even look at Kylie the wrong way you'll be sorry you ****s," she said, dropping a c-bomb on them without even blinking an eye before turning on her heal and heading back to Kylie to see if she was okay. The boys exchanged looks. For a girl dressed in a white shirt with ruffled sleeves...she was kind of scary.... Clara glared at Liam as she approached, starting off defensive as she looked from him to Kylie, "Is he being mean about it?" she asked, glaring at him once more just in case. OOC: sorry kind of long with the whole exchange with the boys but couldn't help bring Ryan in a little...perhaps I'll bring him in for realz later if it seems to fit, we'll see

The guy was being nice. Kylie recognised him as a football player and immediately decided he was a nice guy. She chuckled at his question. "You stopped me from a rather unpleasant beating down of those smug fools." Jerking her head in the two boys' direction. "They should be grateful you intercepted me. You sure you're not working for them?" Kylie narrowed her eyes playfully.
Clara came back around and was assessing the boy Kylie just bumped into. Kylie pulled her foster sister back and grinned at Liam. "Sorry, my sister is kind of protective over me. Quit it, he's being nice." She added the last bit in a whisper to Clara.
Now with only her fruits to keep her nourished the whole day, Kylie looked around for an empty seat. She growled before turning to the giant she had run into. "Do you mind if we sit with you?" She had to really crane her neck to look at the boy's face, much like she had to with her dad. Kylie gave Liam her best charming smile that her dad never could resist. "I'm Kylie, my sister here is Clara so we're no longer strangers so that means there's really no reason why we shouldn't eat lunch together."

Liam had a half cocked smile on his face. "Cross my heart." He motioned then when the other girl came over with what seemed to be hellfire in her eyes, he held his hands up in surrender. "I swear I did nothing, I have a younger sister at home, I know whats its like to be protective!" Which was true, if anyone tried anything with MaryBeth, he was there to settle the score.
"Its nice to meet the both of you, and by all means sit with me. With three of us nearby no one would try anything." He looked over at the two guys who had been the cause of the trouble and gave them that "I got my eyes on you two" look, with his fingers pointing from his eyes to theirs.
"That should make them back off even more."

Clara nodded when Kylie assured her that this guy was okay. She trusted her foster sister even though she had to admit she would have rather him have been mean so she could hit someone. She wasn't completely fond of the fact that Kylie asked to sit with him either. Clara didn't share Kyle's fondness for making new friends.
Secretly Clara was terrified everyone would make new friends and wouldn't have time for her anymore. Clara didn't think it was possible for her to find friends on her own after all. She was too temperamental and too mean most of the time. It was already clear that most people in her classes weren't very fond of her. Heck, even Lila had sat with some other girls in class over sitting with Clara.
When Liam confirmed he had his eyes on Ryan and Jesse, Clara didn't like that much either. She wanted to be the only one to threaten them. But she glared at them once more anyway to let them know that she meant business, lifting two fingers and point from her eyes to their eyes.
Still, she pouted slightly but never-the-less followed Kylie and Liam to the table and plopped down into and empty chair. "It's okay, I've got it under control," Clara informed him.

The re-enactment of the scene in that movie with Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro had Kylie cracking up. Added to the fact that when Clara did the same, the boys actually didn't turn back to them anymore. That made Kylie laugh even more. "Oh my God that is hilarious," she wheezed as she wiped a few tears from her eyes from laughing too hard.
She took a bite out of her cut fruits and grinned when it actually tasted okay. She turned to Clara with a huge smile. "Did you bring anything from home?" She asked. In all honesty, Kylie wanted Clara to be her best friend for life, no matter what. Even if Clara found new friends to hang out with, Kylie wasn't going to let that stop her from being included in her foster sister's life. Even if it meant she had to be a leech.
Clara's protectiveness always reassured Kylie and she knew it wasn't long before her foster sister wouldn't have time for her so she was taking advantage of all the time they were having. Her train of thought was derailed when she remembered that Liam mentioned a little sister. "You have a sister? How old is she? She doesn't go to this school does she?"

"No prob, just consider me back up just in case." Liam nodded slightly, after all a one person posse was never heard of. Even though the older girl seemed to be able to hold her own and there was that old saying about fury and a woman.
He let the sisters talk about lunch and it was rather nice to see the concern. Its how he'd be around MaryBeth, making sure she had something to eat before he did and just keeping an eye out for her.
"Yeah I do, she's in middle school. She says she's ready for high school but I tell her not to rush it. Enjoy herself while she can, besides she might outshine me." He joked, opening one of his milk cartons.

"Yeah, I made Dom make me a sandwich this morning when he was making his lunch, but he has it," Clara explained when Kylie asked if she'd brought anything from him. "I'll get it later," she shrugged. If she had any idea that her foster sister was worried about her making friends and ditching her, she would have laughed in her face. Clara just didn't like people. She'd grown up mostly in seclusion and it had been hard taking in a new family, especially one so large. Now that she had, she wasn't sure that she wanted to do that again. She had no interest in making friends at school.
Clara sort of just nodded about the sister. Since she already had decided she had no interest in making friends, she'd let Kylie do the talking. Or wait...maybe that was bad. Maybe if she did that Kylie would make friends and Clara would be left out in the cold. Okay...pretend to be nice she silently told herself. "Why, is she more popular or something?" Clara asked about the guy's sister although after the words came out, she decided it had been a dumb thing to say.
She glanced a few tables over at the boys that had been bothering them earlier: Ryan and Jesse. They were talking to each other and would look over at their table every so often. Jesse caught her eye and made a mean face at her which she mimicked, shooting him back with her best glare, before turning her attention back to the conversation at her table.

"I will admit for an eighth grader she's starting to turn heads, usually from some overly hormonial guy that has only one thing on his mind."
He opened one of the milks he had and took a sip through the clear straw. "You know making faces like that only encourages them even more." Liam hinted at Clara. "At least it did for me, when I was their age." He realized as the words slipped out, that he sounded like some parent instead of a high schooler. "The best thing to do is either ignore them or play up to them as if they really like you."
He leaned forward. "Although I could go over and have a word with them, I get the same expression my mom gets when she's not happy with things. It stops anything in its tracks."
