"Mmkay," Kylie smiled and nodded at Clara's answer before giggling quietly at Liam's joking tone. Clara's retort to that would sound harsh to outsiders but Liam took it in stride and Kylie just shook her head affectionately at her foster sister's brashness.
When Liam commented on Clara's teasing of the boy, Kylie furrowed her eyebrows and wondered if Clara was going to bite his head off. If there was one thing Clara didn't like, it was being told that what she was doing was wrong.
"You don't have to do that. We can handle ourselves. It's nice of you to offer though. Isn't it nice Liam offered, Clara?" Kylie patted Clara's hand before turning to Ryan and Jesse who were still looking at them. Kylie raised an eyebrow at them and Ryan made kissy faces at her. "Child." The petite brunette turned back to her present company.
"So are you one of the people playing in the game later, Liam?"

Clara wasn't the most mature of teenagers. It probably didn't help that she was younger than most either - she'd only just turned 14 in late August, only a month before school started. But her foster sister knew her well and Clara hated when people told her what she was doing wrong, probably cause she was so used to hearing it. 'Watch your language' 'You shouldn't be fighting' 'Just ignore them and they'll go away' These were things she was used to hearing...things that usually caused her to lash out even more.
But before she could do that, snap at this Liam guy and inform him that just because he was older than her didn't mean he was smarter, but Kylie jumped in and defused the situation before Clara could even open her mouth. Kylie was getting to know her too well. If it was anyone else, Clara might view that as a bad thing.
"Right," she mumbled, as she slouched down into her chair, pouting slightly as she crossed her arms. She was totally taking it out on those two boys after school if she could find them. After all, they were the ones who'd started it. But she'd keep her mouth shut for now, knowing that if she boasted about it that people would just try and stop her.
"Yeah...the game...are we going to that?" she asked. Clara didn't know anything about football aside from the fact that they wore pads and helmets and got into huddles before running around.
