Now Silver knew Felipe was not checking her out, but he actually noticed her height and figure. No one had ever noticed before. Well maybe a few people had, but still. She had never actually been talked about out loud. Silver was use to being ignored. The girl everyone over looked. "Thank you. I might look into it." She really would now. Just to show Felipe she could learn. He obviously thought she could so why not try it.
"Lord of the rings is a great movie. I could watch it all weekend, if I wasn't going to the festival. Orlando makes a cute elf." She said with a smile. "I would role play it, but I prefer dungeons and dragons." She told Felipe. She obviously lost him at the term role play. "Role play is like acting. I know you mentioned it. Except its a game too. Basically you come up with a character. You come up with a name, history, a look and a personality and then act like that character during a dungeons and dragons game. There are other role plays, but that's the one I am most efficient at."
Silver beamed as he mentioned fencing. She actually knew what that was. "Did you know The first known use of defens, which was what fencing was basically called back then, is in reference to Renaissance swordsmanship is in William Shakespeare's Merry Wives of Windsor." Silver said. "I am full of useless information like that. Did you also know that there is fencing in the Olympic games and there is a Fencing World Cup."
Okay now that she established she was a dork, she moved on to answer his question. "I really like science and math, so I am hoping to do something with them. Not sure what yet. And maybe live to see past thirty." Silver said sheepishly. "I am in good health now but I have had issues." he asked and it just came out.

Felipe listened carefully to Silver when she explained the meaning of ‘role-playing’... It all sounded confusing to him but while he’d never taken part in such a thing himself he’d vaguely heard it mentioned amongst his friends back in Sao Paolo. “Why would someone pretend to be who they aren’t? But then you are right... Its not much different to acting in a play or something.” He was struggling to work out how a game also came into it, though. “Maybe one day you can show me how this takes place?” he suggested. At least then he would know what she was talking about... Well, hopefully anyway!
Silver knew a bit about fencing and Felipe nodded when she spoke about its origins. He knew about that but was surprised to find someone else who did! “Yeah I knew about the Olympic Games and World Cup. I would love to represent Brazil at the Games...”he replied in a wistful tone. “I doubt I will ever be that good though!” He would keep practicing as often as he could. Stranger things had been known to happen!
“Science and maths are a good mixture,” he agreed but he frowned at Silver’s next comment. Live until past thirty? What did she mean by that? “You aren’t well?” he asked in some confusion. She seemed to be hale and hearty to him!

"If you like acting then you would like roleplaying. Its just like being an actor, where you play a part and there is no script. Ifyou are truly interested then I can find out when the next group role play is. But that depends on what kind of role play you want to do. I like Dungeron's and Dragons, but that might be to complex to explain. There is a group I meet withand we come up with a story on the sport, each play a role and then improve it out. If you are interested? But I am sure you are pretty busy." Silver should never assume someone could always hang out.
"Don't sell yourself short. You never know." She told him with a bright smile and gave him a friendly pat on the arm. "If its your passion and you really want to try then why not stick with it and goas far as youcan." Silver started saying. "You don't have to listen to me, I bet you have been told that a million times already. i just hate seeing people devalue what they can do. I bet you are a better fencer then you think."
"I can do so much with it. Chemist, or microbiologist. I could be the person who discovers the next scientific break through." Silver said excitedly forgetting she mentioned her health. "Oh I was in poor health, but now I am in good health." She told him. "I am still trying to remember that."

"I would like to give it a try if nothing else," Felipe replied when Silver explained more about the role playing concept. It would be good acting practice and sounded like it would also be a lot of fun... once he got the hang of it, of course!
"The next Louis Pasteur or Alfred Nobel. Perhaps a new Marie Curie? I would be proud to be able to say I met that famous scientist one damp Thursday evening in a video store. I doubt I would be believed," he finished with a grin.
His amusement evaporated when Silver told him that she'd been ill. "I am very relieved to know you are over your sickness," he finally said and with feeling. "What was wrong with you? Or is it something you feel you don't want to talk about?" Not everyone was at ease discussing their health and even more so in a public place.
Felipe's phone warbled at that moment and he glanced at its display. A text... and from LizBeth. She'd finished her homework and was heading out for a walk.
"Do you feel like getting a coffee?" he asked on impulse. Maybe then she would reveal what had happened.

Jeffrey stood in line behind two other teenagers, waiting to check out a few episodes of one of his favorite 80's TV shows. Buck Rogers, staring Gil Gerard and Erin Grey. His mother had recorded them on VHS back in the 80's, but he wanted to see it in better quality. Jeffrey waited patiently listening to the conversation the two in front of him were having.
It's typical. A beautiful girl and a good looking guy. She was someone Jeffrey had imagined being with but of coarse, Jeffrey wasn't the guy in front of him. He could never catch someone like her. It wasn't as if he has had time to try. They just moved to the town and school is practically over. Perhaps next year would be better then this year. Who knew.
Glancing around, Jeffrey noticed how beautiful of a day it was. He had no clue why he was indoors instead of outdoors. He thought this would only take a few minutes, but they were busier then expected. He wondered if it was like this all the time.
Jeffrey looked at his watch to see what time it was. If the line didn't get moving soon, he would have to just leave. He had to meet his mother back at the grocery store in twenty minutes. As the line inched it's way up, Jeffrey caught another glimpse of the blond teenage girl in front of him. She is beautiful and this is probably the only time he would see her. Oh well. Easy come, easy go. It's not like she notices him anyway. the guy in between them has her attention. Jeffrey continued to wait.

"I will text you with the next time my group is meeting. It's usually on sunday's but since I am busy this sunday, and to be honest the whole group is busy cause most of them are going to the film fesitval as well. So it's been moved to another day, but I don't remember when. I will let you know." She said with a big grin. She might convert someone, yay. Well maybe, she should not assume that he would actually like. "I meant to ask do you want to be an American actor,or would you act in portegues films, or other foreign films." Like telenovela, but Silver knew thoses were spanish soap operas and she knew there was a difference between portgueses and Spanish.
"I promise if I become famous I won't forget you." She just doubted he would remember her. But it was nice of him to say that. It made her smiled a little more. Silver wsa about to give a breif explanation about her health when he was interrupted by a text.
Silver dropped one of her movies and she bent down to pick it up, but as she went to stand back up she ended up backing into the guy behind her. She turned around and smiled at Jeffery, "Sorry. I didn't meant to." She said softly. Then Felipe spoke up about coffee.
"Coffee sure. Yes. " Then she looked at Jeffery. "Don't you go to Gould too? You should get a coffee with us." She felt back cause she knocked into him. She hoped Felipe didn't mind. Why would he. It was not like he wanted to be with her. Neither guy probably would want to be alone with her, but if she could get a coffee just this once then why not.

Jeffrey noticed the young lady drop her movie and started to pick it up for her. He was too late, however and she bumped into his as she picked it up. She had apologized, Her voice was so sweet, something Jeffrey could easily fall in love with. "Oh, i-it's okay." His heart began to pound. She was talking to him. He noticed her hair, her clothes and her body that was close to his. This was a treat for Jeffrey. Usually, someone like her was ten miles away from him. She asked him a couple more questions. "School. Yes. Actually, I just moved here." His voice was a little crakly and a little high.
He noticed her smile. Even that was beautiful. Jeffrey was sure he was sweating bullets by now. He had managed to gain controle of himself and his voice was a little more down to earth. "Thank-you for the coffee invite, but I have to meet my mom in about twenty minutes." Jeffrey lowered his head, to embarrassed to believe that SHE was talking to him. He hoped that he didn't give the wrong message to her. That was the last thing he wanted to do. Again he said, "Thank-you."

Felipe was pleased that Silver had agreed to have a coffee with him. He was intrigued to hear more of her past... and find out what had caused her health issues.
Felipe took a half step back when Silver dropped one of her films, stepping unwittingly on another person's foot as he did so. "Minhas desculpas," he instinctively apologised, adding a quick English version immediately afterwards. "I am clumsy and also apparently blind as I didn't see you there."
Felipe looked at the fair haired boy who Silver had spoken to and he didn't mind at all when she invited him to join them./ "Yes, the more the better," he urged... but he declined. "Perhaps another time then," he added. "I am Felipe," he added. "... and this is Silver." Felipe paused. "I am sure we can get a coffee withing 20 minutes, though," he tried again. "We can even make it a Starbucks each to go and drink it as we walk..." It was worth a try... right?

Jeffrey considered the invitation again. This was pretty cool. Just arrived and already he is making friends. It took him two months back home when he switched schools to even gain one friend. After looking down at the ground, wondering why they were being so kind to him, he glanced back up, first looking at Felipe, and then at Silver.
He couldn't get her image out of his mind and if anything, with this invite, he would at least be able to see her. Seeing the expression on both their faces, he hesitantly said, "A - alright. But it's because both of you asked. He gave Silver a smile and began to stick out his hand to Felipe. "My name is Jeffrey."
As he moved his hand out, his cell phone rang. "Uh, excuse me." He answered the phone and talked quietly so he didn't disturb anyone. "Are you sure? . . . . Okay. Thanx mom." As he put his phone back in his pocket, he noticed out of the corner of his eye, his mother walking away. "Well, it looks like I can stay longer." Jeffrey was happy. He could now enjoy the company of these two longer, and that meant getting to know them better.

"Fantástico!" Felipe replied. "Just as soon as we finish here..." He frowned at the slow moving queue once more...
* * *
Finally all three of them had finished in the video store and Felipe pushed Johnny Deep and co into his jacket pocket. "If we have longer we could perhaps try that coffee shop on the corner of Main Street. I think it's called Amelia's or something. Italian coffee. They also do paninis and proper Italian ice cream if you haven't eaten." Felipe hadn't as yet but the other two might already have plans. If so he wouldn't bother eating alone. Where was the fun in that?
"Does it sound good?" he asked. "It shall be my treat as it was my suggestion," he added... just in case either Silver or Jeffrey hadn't come out prepared for such an outing.
