What a day. Silver had done a lot. She was finished with one of her end of the year projects. She had finished applying for computer camp and she was well on her way to almost being done with her latest book. She really was determined when she put her mind to something. Prom was not even in Silver's mind. She already knew she was not going so she focused on other things. Like the film festival. She was so excited. It was a festival of the classics pre 1980. Movies like Casablanca, Metropolis and Time Machine. Oh she was so excited and ready to go. It was the same night as prom but that did not even register to Silver. She had her blanket and chair and was ready for saturday. She had been doing good so far. She was feeling a little under the weather, which was not good for a girl with a heart transplant, but she was taking her normal preventative measures. Her last doctors appointment was good. Silver had nothing to worry about. She hoped. As the quiet girl she stood in line at the video store. Her mom asked her to pick up a video for her college class, so Silver agreed cause she rented a movie for herself. Another night alone. No big surprise there. Silver didn't mind really. Sometimes it was lonely. She was renting a foreign film as well as one of her favorites called the "The forbidden dance." That one could be a bit embarrassing. But she hoped no one saw it. So she had three videos in her hand. She was next in line and went to take a step when someone cut her off. Of course. And rather then say something Silver just stayed quiet. Like always.

After school Felipe wasn't all that keen on heading down to the pier. As LizBeth had homework to do he looked forward to a lonely evening and so Felipe wandered downtown to see what he could find to amuse himself with. Perhaps he'd grab a coffee at Starbucks then maybe even take that stroll on the beach he'd intending doing.
His aimless wandering took him past the video store and Felipe paused. A film later might take his mind off things.
He ducked inside and started to scan the films on display. Some swash and buckle maybe... Sure, he'd seen the movie before but not for some time. He scooped up 'Pirates of the Carribean' and walked over to stand in line and behind a girl he had a feeling he'd seen at school. Seen but not spoken to. Now seemed as good a time as any to set that straight.
He tapped her lightly on her shoulder and she turned around to face him. "I've seen you at school," he stated. "I'm Felipe... " He peered at the boxes in her hands. "Classics," he stated, "... and totally the opposite of what I have picked," he finished with a friendly smile.

Silver almost jumped when she had been tapped on the shoulder. She was not expecting it. Nor did she expect the foreign voice to go with it. Of course it had to be a guy which already put Silver on edge, just cause she tended crush on any guy who spoke to her and add in an accent and this guy was just asking for Silver to once again hold a secret crush just like she did on Christophe. Why did the school have to filled with such handsome men. She looked at her hands to see "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon", the one for her moms class. "The Forbidden Dance" and Giuseppe Tornatore's "Cinema Paradiso". Yes all classics so to speak. She smiled.
"Your movie is not so bad. I have seen it. Its a good one." She said shyly. "As for me, My mom needs this one and the others well. Just guilty pleasures I guess. I am kind of prepping for the film festival thats happening this weekend. Saturday and Sunday. Showing classics pre 1980. I am a sucker for them." And a dork for just admitting that.
Why did she always have to make herself out to be the biggest dork. "They have them once a month always a different theme weekend." She told him. It was then she realized she had not even told this guy her name. her cheeks flushed with red. "Sorry, you have to forgive me, don't know where my mind went I am Silver. Nice to meet you." Her mind was going crazy. He HAD seen HER. Really. Silver didn't think anyone saw her. This was great. Felipe had no idea how much he just made her night.

"Olá! Agradável para encontrá-lo, Silver," he replied. "It is nice to meet you." He took the boxes from her to take a better look. "This one I have heard of but never seen," Felipe said as he tapped the Cinema Paradiso case. "I have heard it is good, though. And this one..." He gestured towards the Crouching Tiger movie. "I love that film. You should see House of Flying Daggers too... If you like this one you would also like the one I mentioned."
Felipe looked at the third box and grinned. "Now THIS is a film I can relate to," he said with a laugh. The Forbidden Dance. It is almost my own story... except I do not dance... like that anyway... and as you can see, I am clearly not female," he added with a wink. "The music is good and there are a few scenes of Brazil." He sighed in an overly-dramatic manner. "Nowhere near enough, sadly."
"So these are your guilty pleasures, heh?" he continued. "You could definitely have worse ones that that!"
He handed her the 3 boxes back. "You should try House of Flying Daggers sometime... I am sure you would like it too.
The queue moved down by one person and the pair of them inched a little closer to the counter. "So tell me more about your film festival," he urged.
"What sort of films are being shown?" If it hadn't been for the prom on Saturday night he might well have been there to see some of them for himself.

"House of flying Daggers, I will remember that. If they have it here I will probably rent it when i bring these back. You really should watch Cinema Paradiso, It is a good one. If you like foreign films of course. The Crouching Tiger dragon is a good file, I have watched it many times, my mother needs it every semester for her class. i keep telling her to just buy it but she likes to rent it." Silver said with a shrug. "College professors...always like to do things the hard way."
Silver laughed a tiny laugh as he spoke about the Forbidden Dance. She blushed when he spoke about it. It was definitely not the kind of movie you would think Silver would like, but she enjoyed the dancing. "Yeah I wish I could dance like that, but I have two left feet when it comes to dancing." She admitted a bit shyly. She couldn't help it. She was always shy around guys.
"Movies are my guilty pleasure. I have more then this that might seem more embarrassing. " Silver felt like a dork for admitting to that. "I love the classics and most people cannot stand movies that are in black and white." Although not all the classics were in black and white of course.
When Felipe asked about the film festival Silver's face began to light up as if it was Christmas. "The festival starts Saturday at 10 am and lasts until midnight. It's an all day event so you can come and go as you please. Then it begins again on Sunday and again lasts until midnight. On Saturday it's movies before 1940 and then on Sunday it's movies before 1980." Really its just a bunch of random movies being shown for two days. But I happen to like some of them, and it's fun thing to do." She said.
"You should try and make it on one of those two days. There are way to many movies to mention but just a couple are metropolis, thats a silent film, Time machine. Casablanca, The Hustler, Mean Streets. Oh they even have Star Wars, but those three are being shown on Sunday. I mean you cannot have a film festival of movies before 1980 with out those films." Silver said realizing she was rambling.
"Sorry, didn't mean to take over there. i am just really excited. What brings you out tonight?" She asked. "Besides renting a movie."

"To dance the lambada you have to feel it here," he told her, grasping a piece of his black shirt in the region of his heart. "And also in other places but I am not about to grab myself there!" he added with a laugh. "The rhythm is felt in your hips but then all Latin American dances are similar in basics. Salsa, merenge... All are errotic. It was banned in some areas as too... extreme," he finished. "But the movie is a good one. It will show you all of what I have just mentioned."
Felipe was unaware of the fact that at least three other people in the queue were also listening and hanging on his words.
"I wasn't going to rent a film," he answered to her last question. "In fact, I was only out for a walk but was drawn inside. This seemed a good way to escape, right?" he asked with a grin as he held up Johnny Deapp's image.
He reyrned to an earlier comment Silver had made regarding the weekend's film festival.
"Ok... I will try and get there on the Sunday. I have a surfing lesson before breakfast and promised to take LizBeth somewhere. Maybe she'd like to go and watch a classic at the festival?" Assuming she wouldn't be peeved he spoke to Silver. Felipe pushed that thought out of his head. Now who was over-reacting? "We could meet up maybe and watch something with you... if you would like that?"

When Felipe grabbed the piece of shirt over his heart, Silver found it cute and endearing. She gave him a soft smile. "I have no rhythm." She said softly, however then he said the comment about grabbing himself else where, or rather not being able to and Silver's cheeks turned three shades of red. She would have died of blushing if she could. Cause all that comment did was make her imagine very inappropriate things, which was embarrassing. Luckily she had enough sense to keep her mouth shut and just nod in understanding.
Finally she did find her voice, "I have seen it a few times. I wish I could dance like she does, well at least some of what the main lady does, but I am afraid like I said for me it's two left feet." Then again it's not like she had ever really been to any dances to test this theory out or even been taught. She was not a lost cause, but Silver just didn't dance. "I will keep that in mind though, about hips and stuff." She looked to the ground briefly.
Silver laughed when Felipe mentioned escaping with Johnny Depp. "If you like a guy who is overly flamboyant and likes to get drunk all the time, then it's the perfect way to escape." Silver said joking of course. "It's a really good movie. I like the third one the best. Johnny Depp is very good."
So he had a girlfriend, right. Well she was assuming anyway, for all Silver knew it could be a friend. Still in her mind it was a girlfriend cause of course a guy as hot as Felipe had a girlfriend. He would just be added to the list of non available just like Christophe, Anderson, Evan, and just about every other guy Silver has spoken too. But that was more cause she was too shy then anything else.
"If she likes classic movies from 1940 to the 1980's, and if you want specifics just tell her they are playing Star Wars to begin with, then I say bring her along. Bring a blanket and chairs...or you can always share mine I will bring two extra just in case. They sell popcorn, soda, and other things at the festival so you don't have to bring anything besides what I already said. You should text me when you and she arrive and I will let you know where I am located. I always arrive early so I can get a good spot, so you can show up when ever you have time. if you decide to go of course." Silver wasn't about to assume anything. "Sorry if I ramble, i tend to do that."

Felipe noticed the colour that washed into Silver's cheeks. Perhaps his description had been a touch too heated in its wording but the dance was passionate and erotic. It could only be spoken of in that sort of manner. "There are classes you can take to learn the lambada. Maybe it would be worth looking into that? Everyone there would be in the same state and not know how to perform it... at first." A seed of an idea... Whether it would grow and bear fruit remained to be seen.
"For myself I like the original Pirates film although all of them are great fun. I like any movie with him in it as I think him to be an amazing actor." Keira Knightley was an added bonus, of course!
"To be honest I don't know if LizBeth likes those aged movies but will find out from her tomorrow. I'm sure she would watch Star Wars without any problem though." That said, he hadn't expected her reaction earlier so maybe he didn't know her as well as he thought...
Felipe rummaged for his phone and handed it to Silver. "Please, if you could enter in your number I can let you know when we get there." The weekend was shaping up very nicely indeed and it was looking like Felipe was going to be busy!
Perfect.

"Me...in a dance class. By myself." Silver said with a brief look of shock. "not that it's a bad idea but what if I don't have a partner. Do they even allow you to sign up if you have no dancing partner or do they assign you partners..." She asked once again going off and asking questions she wasn't sure Felipe knew the answer too. "My mom is always saying I need to be more social. Dancing is not too physical." She was no where near being in top physical condition. Still the idea was planted. Maybe she would at least check it out.
"My favorites are Edward scissors hands and Cry baby. Of course I like Orlando Bloom too." She said with another hint of a blush. Silver was beginning to think they might be a medical condition. One could hope. That would be a miracle cause until then it just looked as if she couldn't handle anything which was horrible. Silver really needed to have more confidence.
"How can you not watch Star Wars. It's one of the ultimate classics. Although I guess if you are not a big science fiction fan, but I bet she will go if you ask either way." Silver assured Felipe. "But if she doesn't let me know I won't mind the company." For Silver it was the more the merrier but she knew some people didn't care much for film festivals. "it's outside so you might want to check the weather before hand. If it rains they move it to the shelter inside, but it's better on the grass so bring a small fan."
Silver clumsily took the phone and dropped it, "Sorry...butter fingers." She said with an awkward laugh as she bent down to pick it up and typed her number. She pressed send and then made sure her phone rang. "Okay done. So besides horribly dressed pirates, what else are you into?"
(OOC: You mentioned Keira Knightly and the name Nova popped into my head, I had to remember where I was for a moment, lol)

(OOC: Nova! LOL! I diodn't connect the two until you mentioned it BWAhaha!)
"Well, there would be others learning with you," he pointed out. "You wouldn't be alone... There would be people there who needed partners and of course you could sign up for lessons alone. I think you would surprise yourself and turn out to be good at it. You have the perfect height and figure for the lambada," he added.
"For myself I am fond of the Sleepy Hollow movie. That one and also aah... where he is the writer of Alice in Wonderland... I forghet its title. So you like Orlando Bloom? With the long fair hair and pointed ears as well?" he teased, referring to Lord of the Rings, of course.
Felipe nodded when Silver suggested he go to the film festival regardless. He felt sure LizBeth would like to go but he would wander along to it anyway on the Sunday. "Of course I will let you know if any plans change," he assured her. He needed to check with Liz first... More so given her recent response to him arranging something with Abby without first checking it was ok!
He took back his phone. "What else...? I love fencing... Not the garden stuff but with swords. And football. Soccer here. The game with the proper ball and not that oval thing," Felipe added with a grin. "I also like drama. If I cna't play football for Brazil then I would like to be an actor. Tell me, though," he went on, "... what are your hopes and dreams?"
