They'd made it back nearly halfway into the next class, but after Felipe had walked Liz to her class, her body convincingly draped in his arms, claiming that she'd had to take pain meds for her mouth and was feeling kinda loopy, the teachers had excused it. They had met back at his locker after the final bell, and had left campus to go attend to the errands that Felipe's mum had asked him to do. The dry cleaning had been picked up, a few groceries had been bought and the new official couple had hit the video rental store.
They had chosen a few movies for the rest of the family, as well as a few for themselves. They had chosen one romantic comedy, and one good vampire flick. Best of both worlds. Snacks had been bought, but there was a good possibility that anything Mama VilaNova would whip up would be better then the candy and popcorn that Liz had purchased. Her mouth was feeling better, the major pain was easing mostly and there was just the dull throb, which was tolerable. Liz was quite looking forward to dinner with his family, even more so now that they were an actual couple. She still squealed inwardly at that thought.
They pulled into the driveway, parking the car and getting out. Liz grabbed the bag of movies and snacks, and after only grabbing her cellphone out of her purse, left the rest of her personal things in the car. She had no need for the rest of it. She smiled, looking up at the warm and well lit house before them. "God I love coming here...it's so...perfect." She spoke softly, looking over at Fefe as he came around to car to her.

“It’s not always so perfect!” he replied on a laugh and he, too, gazed up at the house. It was a fantastic structure without a doubt and far larger than their old place back in São Paulo. Sure, that place had been bigger than the majority of its neighbours. Dental work paid well enough even in Brazil but here...? Here it was ridiculously highly paid and as his father had his own Malibu practice he would never be short of wealthy clients wanting that non-essential whitening on their already glossy teeth.
The evening was already setting in and so the floodlights dotted around the shrubs were already on, their beams directed up towards the roof. Felipe was lucky enough to have one of the front upper floor rooms. One of the ones with the large balcony. It looked out across the extensive grounds as well as one edge of the swimming pool. He counted himself as beyond fortunate.
His oldest brother, Victor, had the second largest room at the back, his parents having the biggest. Ricardo, the next down in age, had one alongside Felipe’s. Ana Izabel had the last room at the back. The cute one with the circular walls and arched windows.
Adelina and Eduardo Ramírez, the Vila Novas married housekeeper and groundsman - lived in a small one bedroomed apartment building off to the far side of the pool and well hidden by the tall palm trees. The couple were Spanish but with a mixture of English, Spanish and Portuguese the two families managed to communicate... for the most part!
“You should be here when Ricardo and Victor get into one of their arguments. Or when Ana pisses me off one time too many! Its not so wonderful then!” he added with a broad grin but for the most part... yes, LizBeth was right. It was as close to perfect as a large family home could be.
He steered her up to the main entrance where Adelina met them.
Time to test out his memory - and his accent. “Buonas noches, Senhora Ramírez,” he said with care and the middle-aged woman beamed up at him.
“Bueno, poco Felipe,” she complimented. “Soon enough I will have you speaking Spanish like a native,” she added with a laugh. “Good evening to you to... and also to you Miss Livingston.”

Liz couldn't help but smile as Felipe laughed, good naturedly, at her comment about his family and their home. She knew that the peace and tranquility that resided at the moment could be easily broken in a heartbeat. That little Ana could be just as much as a terror as Liz herself, she rather liked the girl. She was full of spitfire, just like her youngest brother.
"I have been here for one of their arguements, remember? 2 weeks ago...they began firing back at each other over dinner...it was like watching one of those mexican soap operas..only in Portugese.." Liz moved and leaned against her boyfriend gently. She knew that his family, along with any other in the world, could have their down moments as well as their up. But for the girl that lived alone in a huge mansion with only her guardian and servants, any family was good. Felipe's family had also taken her in well, his mum taking the Brit under her arm like another daughter when Liz's own mother was no longer there to do so.
"No..I'll always thing it's wonderful." She replied softly. They headed up the main path and toward the door, where they were met with the family housekeeper. She smiled as Felipe spoke to the Spanish woman, his accent, as usual, sending a shiver up her spine. "¿Buenas noches, Senora, cómo es usted y el Sr. Ramierez?" Liz asked, shooting a grin over to Fefe. "I can help you wrap your tongue better around Spanish if you want..." She told him cheekily.

“And have you teaching me to say something painfully embarrassing or rude to Adelia?” Felipe laughed and shook his head. “No chance, princess!” he added and much to Adelina’s amusement. She was still laughing when she vanished from sight.
Felipe’s mother wandered out of the kitchen to meet them both and she drew first LizBeth and then her son into a hug. “How are you feeling now, meu caro?” she asked the former. Felipe had told her about LizBeth’s dental work and knew from her own past experiences how much that hurt.
“I have made all your favourites,” she added to the stricken girl. “Come and sit down and tell me how your day at school went.” This was spoken to them both, of course.
Felipe and LizBeth followed her into the main sitting room where they dropped down onto the deeply cushioned couch. “We went out over lunch time,” he told his mother. “I’m afraid we were a bit late back for the afternoon classes but... the beach was particularly nice today.”
Mrs Vila Nova narrowed her eyes slightly. “Oh well, one day won’t hurt. Just don’t make it into a habit, Felipe.”
“I won’t, mãe,” he assured her.
“And LizBeth... You have your dress all ready for Saturday?” she asked with a warm smile.

Liz looked at Felipe, absolutely shocked. "Scandal!" She gasped, smacking her Brazilian in the chest with a hand. "I would never!...." She sent a conspirital look over at Adelia and grinned, glad that the older woman was laughing. "No puedo esperar para conseguirle que más adelante solos… allí son cosas quiero hacer a usted…" She whispered up to him in Spanish as Adelia left them.
Fefe's mum came out, and Liz pulled back from Felipe's ear with a small smile, finding herself being enveloped in a warm hug by the woman. "Better then earlier.." She admitted, grinning as MamVilaNova called her *My expensive one* Damn right! An expression crossed Liz's features, one that read of *I wanna stay here and let you take care of me*. Cor, she missed her parents, but Fefe's were absolutely fantastic and lovely and having them there was a huge help.
Felipe explained that they went out over lunch but were a bit late getting back. "Please, don't get mad at him..it was more my fault...I pushed too fast with trying to eat and my pain meds made me a little loopy..he wanted to make sure I was ok..." LizBeth stated, curling up against Fefe in the couch, her fingers running slowly along one of his hands. Of course she was not going to explain that they were really late because they were making out under the pier.
The topic turned to her dress and the weekend. She nodded. "I do..it arrived the other day, and it's brilliant.." She grinned. "I had it custom made...and I think someone's going to like it.." Liz shifted enough to get her cell accessible, opening up her pictures folder to find a shot of her dress on a mannequin. She carefully handed the mobile over to MamavilaNova without Fefe being able to see. "No peaking!" She tapped Fefe back when he tried to lean forward to get a glimpse.

He wasn't all that sure what Liz had said to him in Spanish as the words were very different to his native Brazilian Portuguese. Something about her wanting him to do things... Maybe. He lifted an eyebrow in silent question but she'd already moved on to speak to his mother. Felipe knew his mother wasn't all that cross about him being late back to school after lunch but it was sweet of LizBeth to try and take any blame. He scowled when she showed his mom the photo of her dress. It really was frustrating not to be able to see it himself! Still, he only had a couple of days more to wait. "Its beautiful," breathed Mrs Vila Nova. "Really lovely, LizBeth," she added, patting the girl's hand. "You will look like the princess Felipe is always calling you!" she added with a teasing glance at her son. Felipe rolled his eyes and said nothing. "We are going out for dinner before the prom, mãe," he told her. "And not all that sure what time I will be home. I have to be up early on Sunday though."
The older woman nodded. "Your surfing lesson. I remember. If you can let me know if you will be home Saturday night I will make sure Adelina leaves the catch unlocked on the side door. You can use that to get inside."
He nodded in reply. Luciana Vila Nova got to her feet. "I should check on the meal."
"Need a hand, mãe?" asked Felipe. "Perhaps you can set the table between you," she replied and then the woman vanished back into the kitchen. "I cna do the table," he told LizBeth. "You rest. Want to listen to some music?"

Liz had grinned to herself when Fefe didn't quite get what she had said to him in Spanish, that was the point. She could be dirty to him and he'd only be able to catch part of it....it might urge him to learn the language faster! They headed further in to speak with his mum.
The Brit saw the scowl on his features when she allowed Luciana to see the dress, but not him. She was infuriating, and in the best way possible! "Aww..don't scowl.." She told him. "It will be wroth your wait..I promise." She beamed over at MamaVilaNova as she complimented the gown, soaking up the affection. Still, she couldn't help but blush as she found out that Felipe had been calling her princess around his family. "Oh really now?" She asked, glancing over at him, giving him a sweet smile.
"If it is too late, I won't want Felipe driving home. He will be allowed a guest room at my house as well if he needs it." Liz mentioned as well, moving to her feet as his mum got up. She mentioned going to check on dinner, Fefe asking if he could help. The lovely older woman disappeared toward the kitchen, leaving the couple alone.
"I can come help you..you are not going to do all of the work and have me sitting around like a pampered house cat...no matter how much I might enjoy it!" She grinned, taking his hand. "come on..let's go set the table...but first.." Liz leaned up and kissed him gently, only after making sure no one else was in the area.

A guest room...? Felipe threw LizBeth a smile. He wasn't so sure he'd be using any guest room if he had to stay over but he'd wait and see what happened on Saturday.
He kissed Liz back and then grasped her hand, leading the way outside to the dining area. It was a cool early evening but warm enough to eat out there. The sky was the colour of pure azure. Cloudless. "There is supposed to be a fall of stars later this evening. We might be lucky enough to see some for ourselves. If so you mustn't forget to make a wish. The Urubu tribe of Brazil had great belief in falling stars. It was said that each star that dropped had been loosened from the heavens by Iea... The Moon God. It was done to signify the death of one of their people. A shower such as tonight's one always seemed to coincide with one of the great Urubu battles... and that would reinforce the belief that the stars that fell were those of departed spirits."
Felipe paused and threw LizBeth a smile. "I'm boring you, aren't I?" He wandered over to the table where plates, cutlery, glasses and such like had been deposited in a huddled group. He started to lay them out. "So what shall you wish for tonight, LizBeth Livingston?" he asked.

Liz caught the smile that her Brazilian gave her about the guest room. She had been entirely serious about it but if he preferred to share her own room, she had no problems at all with that! In fact, there was a fluttering and a tingling that settled deep in her stomach at the thought of being with him like that. Liz was certainly no pure virgin, but with the way they felt about it each other, surely it was going to be better then her FWB's back at Winterhaven.
He kissed her back, then led her to the outside dining area. God she loved this house. "Really?" She asked. "A meteor shower?" Liz leaned against a chair, resting her back against it for a moment as Felipe spoke of tales and myths from Brazil. She loved listening to him speak, and while her normal attention span for things not related to her, these myths were pretty interesting. "No!" She assured him, walking over to him. "You are not boring me at all. I promise" She held up her hand as if she were swearing to it.
Liz began helping him set the table, finding some..happiness with the mundane chore. She normally never did this, but here, she did not mind helping. "Ah!` But a lady should never tell her wishes, for if she did, they were not to come true." She grinned teasingly over at him. "But if you ask me later, after one has fallen..I may tell you." She set the last plate on the table. "What about you..what will you wish for tonight?"

Felipe was relieved when she told him he hadn't bored her senseless with his inane chartter about old Brazilian folklore. He knew he could ramble on endlessly for hours ojn that subject if not stopped dead in his tracks. Forcibly at times!
He laughed when she refused to tell him what her wish might be. "If you aren't going to share yours with me I don't see why I should tell you mine," he countered. "You have that knife and fork the wrong way round," he pointed out and she swicthed them with a pout. "If I didn't know better I would guess this was the first time you have set a table... Am I right?" She pouted again and Felipe grinned.
"Be right back. I will get some napkins," he said and he darted back inside the house, soon returning with some pale terracotta-hued cloth squares which he folded into triangles and placed to one side of each plate. "Tell me something, Lizbeth," he began a little uncertainly. "Do you really mind me going surfing with Ben and Eden on Sunday? Does it bother you that I have got to know them a little?" Better to find out now rather than later... Not that her answer would stop him from going...
