Some Stuff to Consider

The time jump is in three weeks time! Yay!

And because it's getting closer, I thought I should put some stuff out there for consideration.

School Name Since we can't continue calling it just Gould or just Silver, we kind of need a name for the joint campus. I need suggestions! Oh and suggestions for school colours too would be nice.

Subjects For their classes, should we add more or just stick with the ones we already have? And if so, do any of you have any suggestions how to make the timetable now?

Wiki Yearbook Obviously we're going to have to start clumping everyone together into one yearbook. Are there any other changes you would like to see?

Time Changes I was thinking and rethinking and thinking again about this and I was wondering what do you guys think about shortening the one week time changes? Instead of one time change being one week, what if it was just five days or less? No less than three days I think...

Prom Suggestions would be rewarded with cookie spams! The theme has to be decided and the venue and stuff. I just need suggestions

I had suggested LaSalle and they could be the LaSalle Lancers. Colors Green and White.

Subjects: I would keep the same

Yearbook: Eons ago, we had a page for silly pics, where characters are doing something they wouldn't be normally caught dead doing.

Time change: I think 5 days would work, one thing to think about that I realized, it won't always be the same day, where as the seven days it was we started on Sunday and ended on Saturday.

Personally I don't really mind about the yearbook... or the name but we should have something cool because we are basically the coolest sim in the world and people should know just by our title how cool we all are.

As for theme I really dont have a clue I'm English and when I was at school we didn't do the prom thing... we just graduated and went to college or something along those lines.

As for time changes lets keep them at a week but instead of making a day last three weeks lets cut it down to two.

School name: I was thinking maybe something like "Grey Rush High School"

The name would mean gray, sort of like the color Silver and rush for Gould so to speak...just an idea.. a way of showing the schools are merged.

Perhaps the colors should be Silver and Gold, a way to keep a part of each school. Or silver and Black....Gold and Gray...

Subjects: Keep the subjects. They would probably be standard for any high school.

Yearbook: Not sure about changes yet, but I will try and think of something

Time changes: I also think the whole every five days might be confusing, but I like what Owen suggested, i think two time changes per day would be good.

Prom: A theme...maybe we should all suggest something and then the admins pick three and the rest of us vote? I am going to think of something cause I am bad with themes. Oh maybe something cheesy like "Under the stars" or "forever in my heart"..i like cheesy themes

As for venue I say a conference center, i doubt the gym would be big enough...so a conference center or ballroom of a hotel...

The biggest thing to me would be that the name change of the school would have to make sense. Randomly changing it to something just because it sounds cool would be awkward. Karen brings up a good point that we could keep the colors of silver and gold (and probably black to make it look a little nicer) and then be a little more loose on what the name is. Does anyone know any historically famous people from the Los Angeles area that could be honored with a school named after them?

Subjects: The school could still be "split" in a sense, having a Silver class and a Gold class (if those are the school colors), so we don't necessarily need to re-do classed.

Owen's idea about the time change is solid. I've been wanting that for a while. Other alternative could be one full in game day every two real time weeks, or possibly making weekend days (Saturday and Sunday) just one full wee each instead of splitting them. My opinion is that every character doesn't need to be used every time change, and with the slow pace of this game it seems that a crazy amount of stuff happens in such a short period of time. People instantly fall in love and have three dates in two days and then break up. Seems so accelerated! If we quicken the pace of the game, I think it would seem a little more realistic.

What were the popular songs around this time? Or what could be a good made up popular song around this time? Most Proms I remember had a theme based on a song, like "Stairway to Heaven" (old school), "Time Of Your Lives," etc...

School name really is a toughie. Though I do like a cool sounding name to represent how awesome our group is, it really wouldn't make sense if we use Awesome High School Group Ever as the name. A joint suggestion would probably to name it MLK Jr High after Martin Luther King Jr [duh].

At my old school, we were all divided into three major streams. So Miami's idea is pretty doable. So for the application instead of the school box, we could ask which stream; Gold or Silver [neither being better than the other ]

For the Wiki Yearbook I thought of just asking everyone to give out the pictures that best represent your characters but maintain the two school yearbooks, shared lockers, activities and classes.

And for the time change, it's cool about the two week time change as I've already posted up in the merge/time jump post if anyone remembers. Credits to Karen for suggesting it to meh

An idea I had was a 50's theme prom set to Frank Sinatra's "Moments in the Moonlight". Maybe stick up Polaroids on a big pin up board near the entrance or something. And maybe we get old photos of the students up everywhere and stuff... As for the venue, Karen's idea to use a conference center would be awesome. Somewhere where there's a stage and a huge hall and stuff. Is awesome
