Strolling into the party liked he owned the place, well, his father could if he had the inclination, Tyler looked around, presently alone. That would change, soon enough, he believed. He hadn’t managed to find Maggy to invite her, though it was her loss, as he saw it. So, he would have to make do with one, if not more, of the bevy of beauties that showed up here tonight to celebrate Jasper’s birthday. A few had come with boyfriends, though, that was more of a fun challenge than a hindrance.
Adjusting his tie, after all a Durnham couldn’t attend an occasion such as this without looking the part, he let his eyes wander over everyone else who had already showed up. He wasn’t exactly on time, and he expected more latecomers into the night, but, even so, it was a pretty decent turnout.
It was the polite thing to do, give his greetings to the host after all, so he searched out Jasper, though, any friendly face, and by friendly face hopefully a woman’s, would be welcome. He was not a wallflower after all. Tyler liked to party, like to flirt, liked to charm, and all the things that came as a result of those. Besides, he had a small pack of Cuban’s in his jacket pocket for the birthday boy, would be rude to attend and not bring a gift after all.

Jasper actually smiled as he took a sip of his top shelf champagne. It had been quite long since he'd had anything to smile about really, but there it was. Today had been well...incredible. After a trip to the bank so much money had been transferred into his account that he'd be able to live wealthily his entire life. And the party...well, it was a good turn out. The girls had done a good job. There were a few people who looked well, out of place, but he'd have to blame Riley for that one, assuming anyone who didn't belong was a friend of her's.
Still, Jasper was in much too good of a mood to bother with them now. He saw Tyler walk in but really didn't think anything of it. As a Silver student, Jasper simply didn't know everyone who was invited. Mostly because Aly didn't go to his school. Had he been a girl, Jasper might have greeted him personally but saw no reason for that. Instead he headed across the room towards a girl whom he didn't know but found especially tempting at the moment. However, before he could even make eye contact, Riley bombarded him.

The turn out for the party had been good. It felt just like the old days...only something was off. Riley hadn't really admitted it yet...not even to herself...but living poor for the past few months...well, she'd changed a bit. Now, all of this seemed, well unnecessarily lavish. Of course she preferred the fancy hotel to the dump of apartment they'd lived in Compton, but did they really need this much? Maybe they could live somewhere more comfortable, middle class and use their money to help the people in Compton...
Riley was going crazy. As she saw her brother, actually smiling for once, she knew that would never happen. Next year when she got her trust fund she could do with it as she pleased but for now, Jasper was in charge. That's just how it was.
She noticed another guest walk in and noticed her brother ignoring the boy. Riley sighed. She knew Jasper hadn't greeted each and every guest the way he was supposed to, but if he wasn't going to have manners, she'd have to do it for him. After all, Riley had been raised by her mother whom threw dinner party upon dinner party while growing up. She knew Jasper hadn't spent quite as much time with their mother as she had, but still. He should know these things.
Grabbing another drink, Riley walked over to her brother. "Hey, birthday boy," she said, putting her arm around him. "Have you said hi to all the guests yet?" she asked, "Someone just walked in," she added nodding at Tyler. She of course had no idea who he was either.
Looking at her brothers face, she knew exactly what to do. "Guess I'll have to go do it myself," she smirked. Jasper hated when she talked to boys. He was extremely protective. He'd be a good host and say hi to everyone now...

Dressed in a smokey gray silk shirt and black dress pants, Greg went to the Jaspers birthday/I got tons o money party. Sandy had begged him to take her as well but that decision was a resounding no from his folks, she would have to be content to spend the night babysitting for a neighbor.
With his clothes and his hair slicked back, Greg looked like a totally different guy but still had that boyish charm that so many girls loved when he was on tv. Though finding a gift for this guy was a chore in itself.
Money was going to be pointless, and he didn't want to insult Jasper's clothing taste or his intellect. Finally it was decided to get him a $250 gift certificate for a legit massage parlor. After all what man in their right mind wouldn't want a massage from a blond Swede woman named Leisel?
He checked his phone, making sure it was charged. He was a good boy and promised that if he had anything stronger than ginger ale, he'd call for a ride home. No need to be making headlines when they weren't necessary.
He looked around and found the table were there was a small gather of birthday presents, Greg set his card and gift certificate on the table and looked at the boxes trying to figure what people had brought.

OOC: So I was bored with waiting I am tying Brad to this one...
BJ had been left standing in the bar getting drinks, while he got an idea that this was a birthday party, it was still beyond him that he had managed to get in the place with Alex, technically it was invites... but well he was in and he had a cold drink in his hand, as he walked over to the present table...
"Of all the parties we had to crash we had to crash a birthday." BJ said to himself... "I suppose it beats trying to find something to do for the evening, and Alex was right staying home was just a little bit boring." he said talking to himself he spotted the brown haired boy near by.
"Do you know the birthday guy?" BJ asked not even sure whether it was a guy or not. "For me it was just about getting out of the house and being invited to crash a party, or at least attending one that would make for a better evening than the one I didn't have anything planned for." BJ said to him with a smile on his face. "Oh well, I'm here now, might as well get drunk, I'm not sure the limo driver would look kindly on cleaning sick up, so not to drunk." BJ said.
"I'm Brad, or BJ, call me Bradley and I will have to fry you or some similar punishment worthy of the crime." BJ said to him.

You had to love these kinds of parties, Tyler thought, walking away from the bar. They could always be expected to have the best alcohol, the scotch in his glass one of his favourites. His blue eyes scanned the room, looking for someone to talk to, flirt, perhaps secure some further company for when the party was all well and done.
A few people in attendance weren’t quite what he had expected to see. He recognised them as Gould students, though, he didn’t have a clue about their names. They were no one important after all, and the girls weren’t his type, so there was no point in putting in that effort. The girl in the purple jeans was especially far from appealing. He didn’t understand the whole tomboy thing, didn’t find it attractive in the least, though someone obviously did, judging from the guy with his arm around her, looking at her all starry-eyed. Now, a girl who put effort into her appearance, and embraced her femineity, that was what got Tyler’s interest. Maggy wasn’t quite there yet, but he was sure, with just a little bit of input from himself, she would.
And with good awful music sounding in his ears, Tyler spotted the guest of honour. And a gorgeous girl by his side. Jasper’s sister, if he remembered right. Taking a swig from his drink, he approached them, a friendly smile lighting his face. “Well, birthday wishes are in order then Jasper.” he greeted, a brief chuckle escaping his lips. “And you two most likely have no idea who I am. I can’t blame you, we only met once, very briefly, and that was a while back. Some opening, for something or other, I can’t quite recall. All I remember is that my old man dragged me along. I’m Tyler Durnham.” He was certain they would recognise the surname, even if they didn’t recognise him.
He grabbed Jasper’s hand, shaking it firmly before taking Riley’s hand and brushing his lips against it. “It’s Riley, if I remember rightly. I’m good with names and faces.” he explained. They were his kind of people after all, worth remembering. “Hope you don’t mind me crashing Jasper, I just heard about the occasion and I couldn’t resist. And, I come bearing gifts.” Grinning, he pulled out the cigars, pressing them into Jasper’s hand. A loud bang quickly got his attention though, and he turned just in time to see a cake explode. “What the hell?”

Kaylie sighed as she was dropped off at the entrance to the party. She was dressed in a very short version of a Scottish Black Watch kilt complete with navy blazer, white shirt with a lace jabot. She had a perky Tam tilted rakishly on her wavy hair. The black tights clung tightly to her long toned legs and the outfit had all the correct accessories. On someone else it might have looked like a costume, but the outfit was chic and stylish on Kaylie. In her hand was a somewhat flat box wrapped in silver paper with a gold bow. Inside was a pair of Imax screening glasses that plugged into an ipod for widescreen movies at a moment's notice.
There were even crowds outside so she wasn't looking forward to entering, but she needed to put her offering on the sacrificial pile and Kaylie knew she should say hello to the host, if she could figure out who he was in this madhouse. She asked a few people but they all pointed in side so she took a deep breath and pressed forward.
She entered and looked around feeling a bit dazed by the thudding bass line and the milling crowds. Just when her senses were about adjusted a loud bang startled her and had her backing into someone very solid. Freezing she hoped she hadn't damaged someone on her first day as a California High School Student.

"Right, Tyler, thanks for coming," Jasper said. Truth be told, Jasper remembered few people, mostly because there were so few that he came across that were worth remembering. He could pick out a good one of course, easy enough. Tyler was clearly of the Hastings caliber...clearly someone he would have remembered had he been a pretty girl, but seeing as it had been years and Tyler was of the male specimen, he'd slipped his mind.
Looking at the cigars, Jasper smirked. "Might have to go out on the balcony and smoke one of these...care to join?" he offered. Jasper needed to make connections in LA. If he was going to stay here which it seemed like he was, he had to make himself known. The party was the first step in that--now that he had his money back of course. And Tyler, well, Tyler might not have been someone Jasper wanted to jump in bed with but that didn't mean he wasn't worth knowing. He didn't particularly like the way he looked at Riley, but on the other hand at least he was better than the filth she usually associated herself with.
However, before Tyler had a chance to respond to his request a cake exploded and he was covered. Jasper's face immediately twisted into anger. "Who did this?!?!?!" he demanded, looking around, his eyes wild with anger.

So many people were still arriving, and Riley being the natural hostess she had been raised to be was ready to greet them all...and drag Jasper along with her. After all, it was his party and he should thank everyone for coming.
Tyler reached them first. She didn't remember him at first but when he mentioned his name it did seem rather familiar. "Perhaps I do remember you," she said simply, letting him take her hand. She was used to such gestures after all. It's what people in their circles did. Not that Riley really felt like she was part of this anymore...it still seemed like it might be easy to slip back into. Perhaps she was still figuring it out.
Jasper suggested opening up the cigars. He seemed like he was in a really good mood and that really pleased Riley because he'd been such a pain to live with for the past few months. Maybe she wasn't completely satisfied with going back to her old life, but if it made Jasper this happy...well, she could deal with it. She was about to let the boys go off and smoke their cigars...excuse herself to go greet a few others she saw enter the party...two boys, one from TV, and a girl who looked rather lost. But the cake exploded and Riley found herself covered in chocolate instead.
Wiping cake out of her hair, Riley shook her head. She placed her hand on Jasper's arm. "Calm down...we'll find who did this," she attempted, but it was too late...he was already yelling and looking for the culprit. Riley couldn't say she was pleased being covered in cake, but an element of it was a little funny. After all it was quite a classy affair...everyone was all dressed up and drinking the best of the best... A cake exploding and ruining it all...well...it was kind of humorous. Riley suppressed her urge to giggle or even smile and kept her hand firmly on her brother, making sure he didn't freak out too much.

"I'm Brad, or BJ, call me Bradley and I will have to fry you or some similar punishment worthy of the crime." BJ said to him.
Greg introduced himself. "Greg Meyers. I don't know the birthday boy personally but I'm not one to turn down a party." He shook hands with the other boy. "I have to be the good boy tonight." He rolled his eyes with annoyance even though he knew his folks were right.
"Had I thought about it, I'd have just rented a room for the night and save the expense of worry or making headlines." He was rambling on. A server walked by with a try of drinks, and offered the boys one. Greg took from the side that was pointed out as non-alcholoic. He took a sip, "Ahh yes vintage lemon-lime, a nice crisp taste to it." He was about to take another drink when he was given a jolt from a loud bang and someone bumping him.
He smiled seeing it was a young girl. "Don't worry its fine, nothing stain--" he looked up and saw debris of cake flying towards her.
"DUCK!!" He yelled moving to shield her from the bits coming around. He got hit right in the chest as well as getting a few crumbs in his hair. He brushed them out away from his company and the one that nailed him in the chest. This would be one to explain to the folks, still he took it in stride. "Mmmm chocolate, my favorite kind!"
