"Well, the shirt looks like wearable art now, who knows it might catch on." He was still finding bits of cake in his hair. "I'll be finding this for days now I bet." He chuckled.
"Hollywood? You live in my area then." It was surprising to find someone else who lived in that area that he didn't know. They had limo bring them, slightly more than what Greg was used to but if one had the money why not. "That was good thinking, I try to be more...more hmmm not sure, I just like doing things on my own without the money talking, unless I need to make a big impression."
"I suppose I'd be mad too but then the party will be the talk of Silver for the next several weeks besides which, if something DIDN'T happen then this would have been just a normal Hollywood party." Greg replied.
"A pleasure Alex." Greg shook hands with the other young man. With the intro, Greg figured they were friends at the party although Alex trying to get BJ drunk could have indicated something else.
"Yeah for the most part, this is one of those anyone who's anyone is here and from what I heard it was to be exclusive meaning if you didn't measure up to birthday boy's money standards out you'd go guess his sister softened him up."

BJ laughed at this, "Greg I'm sensible with money to a degree, Alex is the one with more money than sense, and the one that rented the limo for the evening, you did rent it right?" BJ asked never to sure what stunt the Edwards twin would pull next. "Yeah we've been living their a while, I was born in Melbourne Australia and raised there... I have Alex's parentss to thank for us coming over here." BJ said to him with a grin on his face.
"So pretty much every one here is either loaded or famous, now thats my kind of party, or both actually, you can be famous and poor now days right?" BJ asked, he never really asked his agent whether that was the case he just assumed their were famous people some where that were struggling for cash... anyone usually on the celebrity dancing circuit or singing. "Thats what my agent tells me anyway... I really wish I hadn't splurged my weekly treat on a twix bar yesterday this cake looks great." BJ said to Alex who chuckled. "One of the disadvantages of being diabetic is that I can only look most of the time, and some times these cakes you see are so delicious looking you just want to eat them." BJ said to him.

Taft. Melodee was impressed, it meant the girl was very skilled in whatever it was she did. Yet, a school with a Rhino as a mascot… well Mel had some opinions on the matter, but chose to keep them to herself. Instead she filed away the information for further use later, and applied herself to answering the query presented to her.
“Mostly it’s school or work. I keep mother’s books and her appointments for her, as well as keeping operations at Riker Publishing.” She’d finally managed to get her siblings to give over their shares. She was sole owner now, and the company was going brilliantly, so long as she kept the business up, she had nothing to worry about. “Though when I do find some down time, I usually end up playing the piano.” Or grooming Judd, but Kaylie didn’t need to know that. Besides, it was all work related. Groom them now, reap the benefits later.
“Though on Saturday’s a Gould club meets at my house to discuss world views. If you’re interested you’re more than welcome to join us.” How easily the invitation was extended, never once did it occur to Melodee that the Young Republican’s Club wasn’t for everyone.

Jasper didn't want to hear or think about the cake any further. If he wasn't intent on having a perfect birthday/trust fund day he would have made a scene. And he would make a scene...later. He'd recruit Aly and perhaps her friend to find out who was responsible for this. He already had a good idea who it was after all. He saw the people who looked out of place...fleeing the scene...he just couldn't name them...but he was sure that a yearbook could.
"Let's just go smoke," he said. He headed towards the balcony that looked over the city. Taking in a breath of fresh air he looked out at all the lights that filled downtown LA. It sort of reminded him of New York city, but of course it wasn't even a fraction as big. Still it seemed to be the only place in this large spread out city that could boast sky scrapers and Jasper liked it. Maybe it wasn't the most prestigious part of LA but it was the most prestigious hotel and soon he'd have a penthouse in the most prestigious building in downtown.
He grabbed two cigars out of the box Tyler had given him and handed one to the other boy. "So...where did we meet again?" he asked as he lit up his cigar. After all sure the boy looked and acted the part but Jasper needed to make sure he was the real deal if they were going to be seen together.

Riley watched as the boys walked off, letting out a sigh of relief. She was covered in cake, but still, disaster averted. Now to make sure everyone else was okay. Pushing some hair behind her ear, she also seemed to knock a piece of cake out of it. She shook her head and smirked. Okay, maybe the exploding cake was aimed to annoy Jasper and the others at the party but Riley found it a little amusing, which couldn't be said for all of the guests.
Well...that settled it she supposed. It was time to go off and make sure everyone was okay. She'd start with the people who looked most upset...offering them champagne or a cocktail to calm their worries. Everything would be back to normal in no time...cake covered...but still back to normal.

Hearing that Melodee played the piano made Kaylie's eyes sparkle. " My main emphasis was theater and dance but secondary was music including vocal. My instrument is the cello. I find it so soothing," she enthused. Lately she had needed a lot of soothing and her mother enjoyed her playing so she did a lot of playing.
"I think I would enjoy your club. I have to admit I am not as up on current events as I should be and that would give me a chance to catch up. It wouldn't matter that I attend Silver? I wouldn't want to ruffle any feathers," Kaylie said, not sure what the status was between the two schools.
Looking around Kaylie was bewildered by the sheer volume of new unfamiliar faces. It seemed that havin a friend like Melodee could be very useful just in social knowledge. "You seem like you know everyone here, I have to start planning my sweet sixteen party and I could use some help if you enjoy that kind of thing and have the time. My parents gave me free reign on the plans. I would like to do some kind of theme."

So she was talented, but attended Silver. Yet, Kaylie seemed eager to join, and what was a political club worth if it didn’t span school boundaries. That was part of politicking after all. Reaching out, diplomacy.
“It doesn’t matter at all that you attend Silver. Though I admit, I have a weakness for the cello myself. Those rich notes,” Mel sighed, her comment had the benefit of being completely truthful and she wondered if Kaylie would be interested in coming over and playing some time together. She rarely got to play with another person, let alone someone who knew what they were doing, it would be fun.
“As for your sweet sixteen,” Melodee smiled, remembering her own “coming out” at sixteen in New York, “I’d be happy to help you. I have some of my cards in my clutch, but that was stored with my coat, it won’t take but a moment to go grab it. It looks like the party’s winding down anyway.” Mostly thanks to the pranksters it seemed. The one glance she’d gotten at Jasper’s face suggested trouble for those who had dared gate-crash, and what’s more blow up a cake.
“It isn’t difficult to find my house, it’s…” she paused for a moment, “Unique. I believe I was told that the architect was the same fellow Hugh hired to build the mansion.” Playboy mansion, that was, but Melodee wasn’t about to mention such things in mixed company. “We’ll be very happy to have you tomorrow. Come by anytime.”
All in all, Mel was very pleased with how her introduction to Kaylie had gone. A potential new acquaintance, or friend. It really all depended on how things progressed from where they were now.

Kaylie was excited someone to duet with was awesome, playing with someone else was a challenge which allowed her to stretch her musical wings. "I would love to come play with you sometime, just let me know when would be good for you or I could bring my baby with me tomorrow and we might be able to play after your club let's out. I am used to lugging her around.
"What time does your club start tomorrow? Can I bring anything?" Kaylie asked for her mother said you should always ask and her mother was kind of an expert at these sort of things. "I never said happy birthday to our host, but I imagine he will see my present eventually." She didn't really want to search through the remaining people for him. She doubted he would remember whether he had met her or not anyway.
"Would you like me to walk you to your coat and you can give me your card?" Kaylie asked, fingering her cell phone, knowing she should call Rupert, her driver. He wouldn't be happy if he found her waiting outside alone. He was almost as bad as her parents. She couldn't wait till she turned sixteen and got the BMW that had already been ordered for her.

Lighting his own cigar, Tyler looked over the view of the city, but didn’t give much thought to it. Pretty views, unless they were of a woman, weren’t of much interest to the footballer. He never could understand why people like to bang on about scenery. Sure, the fact one of the Durnham’s vacation houses overlooked the beach, another a quiet lake wasn’t lost on him, he appreciated the view, he just didn’t see the enjoyment of looking at trees or water or whatever it was for an extended period of time. Surely people could find something much more interesting to do with their time.
With a quick grin at Jasper, Tyler considered the question. “Well, I have been trying to remember. The old man takes me to so many different functions, for image, as you would know. And while I’m good at remembering names and faces, tends to pay off for people like us, I’m afraid I don’t pay too much attention beyond that, unless someone happens to be of the much fairer sex.” he laughed lightly. “No offence intended. But you know how it is.” With a slight smirk lighting his feature, he glanced around back at the people gathered behind them, the females anyway. “Let’s see, don’t think it was one of his movie premieres....ah yeah, Osso’s, that Italian place. The opening of that. I think. I do recall meeting a lovely girl named Michelle there, you’ll have to forgive me if my memory is a little hazy after that.”
