[Mike Spruill]

Mike was happy to be walking with an arm around Dare. He smiled at Bree and Tina. "Pleasure to meet you both." He held his hands out to both of them. "Nice to meet you too Thad." Mike told the younger boy. "So why are we sneaking you out? If you don't mind me asking."Mike was just wondering why he was helping to form a cramped circle around the boy. It was actually kind of fun.

"I feel as if this is a mission impossible moment, or something like that." Mike commented. "You girls need to join us. The more the merrier. Besides any friend of Dare's is a friend of mine. I trust my new boyfriends friends." Mike said smiling. He was happy right now. Someone who wanted him back. It was a nice feeling.

Mike had spent the last few months feeling rejected by the people who were suppose to love him the most. His dad's. Now Jade was agreeing to be his friend and Dare his boyfriend. it was about time he got to have good things coming. It definitely made it easier not to turn to drugs. Cause that was way to easy to do. "I think we made it, but which car are we going to?"

Takumi nodded to each of the newcomers in turn. "Konnichiwa, Tina-chan," he said, repeating the greeting to Bree. He'd vaguely seen her during the ruckuss in the cafeteria when the shootings had taken place. He remembered her being with that other boy. Felipe. The one who Takumi had saved from being shot by whacking his assailant with a fire extinguisher. It had been mainly thanks to his actions then that he'd ended up arrested and on suspicion of being a part of the rival gang. Still, that was now in the past and so much had happened since then. It felt like an eternity ago.

"But please. Join us," Takumi said in reinforcement of Mike's invitation. "No game of frisbee is complete without the presence of pretty girls, sou desu ka? But as for hiding Thad. He is supposed to be going home after school and we are sneaking him out. Hopefully not impossible!" He felt Thad's hand tighten around his wrist in response. "We will achieve this, otouto-san. Rest easily."

He glanced at Mike at the mention of a vehicle. "We don't need to walk? Sugoi! I have my Vespa and can take one person on its back but perhaps Thad would do better hiding inside a car. If you can all get into one car and I take someone with me I can stop on the way and buy frisbee. Yes? So who feels brave enough to join me on my scooter?" he asked with laughter glinting in his dark eyes.

Bree looked at the small crowd and calculated. "Well my convertible is in the parking lot. It will be tight though. Dare chuckled. "I can call Tony and have him come with the limo," he offered.

Bree wondered how she ended up involved in smuggling a freshman to the beach. "Tina you better call your brother and let him know our new plans." She wasn't about to get Tyler pissed off at her over playing frisbee. Tina texted Tyler and let him know, who, when, where and what was happening. She didn't ask permission, but did inform him. She didn't want him worrying, but this seemed like a lot of fun and the people seemed great. Bree knew them so they couldn't be bad.

[Thad Cotton]

Thad grinned excitedly as he was snuck into the middle of the group and shuffled into the parking lot. This was so much fun! Clearly this group of older kids were all right, if they were willing to smuggle him away rather than informing him he needed to obey his parents.

He shook his head in response to Dare's question about instruments. "Naw, I don't play nuttin' but Si plays violin!" He offered in a whisper. Of course, unless they played Darkwave or Industrial she wouldn't be interested in joining their band so it was probably utterly useless mentioning her. "I c'n be a roadie, though!" He agreed happily. At least, he could try and be a roadie once his leg was fully healed, should his mothers somehow refrain from grounding him for all eternity once he got home. If he decided to go home after they departed the beach.

He recognized the red-headed girl as a cheerleader, but not her friend. She was related to Tyler Durnham? He'd never known he had a sister! She was cute. Not Roxy, but then, nobody was as cute as Roxy. He whispered a greeting to the two girls as they were introduced to the group "Hey! Nice t'meetcha!"

He then tensed as Taki suggested sneaking him off campus might prove to be impossible, relaxing only when the older boy reassured him that they would succeed no matter what. He frowned reproachfully up at Taki. "Don' scare me like that!" He muttered, then, "Awww, that ain't fair, I don't get to ride the vespa? Wait, didjoo say limo?"

Takumi laughed at how quickly Thad was distracted from the Vespa by the thought of riding in a limousine. That was a large part of Thad's appeal. He was so... harmless. It was the reason why Takumi had immediately felt the need to look after the younger boy as he would a brother. Without some sort of guidance he had a feeling Thad would only find trouble.

Takumi paused in his thoughts.

Wasn't that same 'guidance' steering him *into* trouble right now? After all, his mother would be surely as mad as hell when he didn't make an appearance at the main gate. He shrugged - albeit mentally - and slipped out from beneath the coat covering Thad. "I will go and get my scooter," he said and the Japanese youth darted off to the left, returning moments later, wheeling the vivid red machine.

The others would all fit easily into Dare's limousine and so there was no need for Takumi to take a passenger. "I will still collect the frisbee." He paused and frowned. "What does it look like again?"

Dare patiently explained.

"Ah I understand! Kami-tsuki!" he exclaimed, not knowing until then what it was they were about to play. "Furisubii!! Now I know what it is I am to buy. I will meet you at the beach, hai?" He straddled the scooter and started its engine, grinning at Thad as he pushed the equally red helmet onto his head. "Unless your mama sees you before you can leave!" he added in a tease. He waved one hand and set off. Hopefully he'd arrive at the beach not too long after the others!

Dare dialed Tony, grateful when he didn't give him a hard time or ask a lot of questions. "Tony will be here in just a few minutes, "he told Taki and the others. It seemed barely that when the long silver limo pulled up near the dumpsters and Tony got out to open the doors for everyone. Bree piled in with everyone which surprised and pleased Dare as he thought she might have held back. Tina smiled shyly at Thad and said softly, "I'm glad to meet you too and that you're coming in the limo. She managed to sit next to him and Bree tried not to look disapproving for she knew how Tyler would react to such a friendship. With the dark windows it was unlikely Thad's mom would get a glimpse of him inside. Dare opened compartments and handed out bags of chips and bottled juices.

While Tony Drove them to the beach, Dare tried to make sure everyone was comfortable and happy. He also made sure that Mike knew how happy he was by giving him lots of soft warm kisses and not releasing his hand. Thad was as crazy as Taki and Dare found himself liking him a lot in the same brotherly way he liked his Japanese friend. Arriving at the pier, Tony opened the doors and as they began to pile out onto the parking lot, Dare found himself grinning. Once again he was arriving in his limo with a group of really attractive people, but this time they were his friends and they were there because of him, not his father. It was a new and very nice feeling. It made him feel generous and very protective towards them all.

It took Takumi a little over twenty minutes to reach the beach, having stopped at the first toy booth he encountered along the esplanade. His luck was in and he had a whole rack of furisubii to choose from but only one of them stood out in the sea of neon green, orange, red and yellow. A smaller stack had been set to one side. Of course, it would cost a little bit more but then again, stuff did when it depicted the marketing image of a well known range. He smiled at the girl behind the counter as he paid and offered her one of his formal bows... much to her amusement.

He waved to the others when he saw them by the pier and drew up in a small parking area where he would leave his scooter. "I have it!" he called out, waving the plastic disc above his head. "And you will never guess what it has on it! Look!" He held it out towards the others. A pink disc with the face of a cat on it. Not just any cat though. Only his all time favourite character.

"It is Hello Kitty," he stated in proud satisfaction. "How good is that?" Anything with that image on it was fantastic in Yoshino Takumi's eyes.

"Shall we go and throw her around a little?" He didn't wait for any replies and instead bolted for an open expanse of beach...

Dare grinned when he saw the Hello Kitty on the frisbee. He probably would never buy something like that, but it suited Taki so well. Now he thought of his friend every time he saw the cartoon cat. Pulling his hair back into a tail, he secured it with a hair elastic and ran to join Taki on the sand. He wasn't very good at this but he was ready and eager. He hoped that Mike would enjoy himself. It seemed to him that his boyfriend didn't do a lot of 'fun' things. "Here Kitty, Kitty!" he called out and watched where Taki might send it flying. He wished he had some shorts, but he hadn't grabbed them from his gym locker. He glanced over to where Tina was pretending not to stare at Thad. Tina and Bree were in short shorts. They looked pretty good too for girls. But it was hard pulling his eyes away from Mike who was looking godlike with the sun glittering on his short blonde hair.

Takumi laughed when he heard Dare call out for the furisubii and he drew back his arm, hurling the pink disc in Dare's direction. It scooted skywards and arched down towards a couple who were walking their dog close to the water. "LOOK OUT!" he yelled and the couple ducked... and not a moment too soon. The disc skittered across the sand and ended up not all that far from where Tina and Bree were talking. He jogged over and threw them a bright smile. "As you can tell I have not done this much before." He gathered up the disc and tried again, pretty pleased with himself when Kitty zoomed directly towards Dare.

Taki threw Thad a grin. "Teach me to do it properly otouto-san. Otherwise I might end up removing the head of a passerby. Not really a good way to start my new life here in the USA, eh?" He laughed and scampered off to catch the return throw. This was a lot harder than it looked!

They played around for the better part of the next hour and then decided to call it a day. The light level was already starting to drop and with it came a slight chill that Takumi knew wa sonly going to increase as the minutes passed. It had been a good session, though, and he had yet another Hello Kitty trophy to add to his collection. It didn't get much better than that!
