Each hallway had a door opening to the outside, easy escapes in case of fire or other event that required evacuation but happily (for Thad) avoiding nosy eyes from the parking lots on either end of the school. He crouched down beside the bushes, crutches laid across his knees and backpack shoved as far under the bushes as possible. He couldn't be caught or he'd be dragged right back home instead of getting to hang out with Taki and Taki's friends. At least he'd managed to steal his phone back before school that morning, or he wouldn't even know he was invited along much less have the means to contact Taki about it.
Unfortunately, the other boys wanted to meet by the main gate, which was out of the question; his mother was supposed to be picking him up and she'd see him if he went anywhere near the parking lot. He shrunk back against the wall as a couple passed near his hiding place, arms wrapped around waists, but they were too involved with one another to even notice his presence.
He sighed heavily. Where was the closest place he could meet up with the others without his family seeing? "cant meet u near gate mom waiting 4 me there" He hit send, hoping Taki wouldn't dis-invite him now.

Takumi nodded at Dare when he suggested he contact Thad once more and he pulled out his phone... just as it warbled with an announcement of its own.
"It is from Thad!" Takumi stated and he frowned as he read the message...
"U... that means 'you'... yes?" Dare nodded. "And 4 is 'for'?"
Another nod. Takumi tried to decypher the message once more. "Thad cannot meet us here as his mom... mother?" Third nod. "His mother will be waiting here to collect him... I think. I will go and find him and bring him around the side of the building where the rubbish is collected. Meet you there in two minutes," he said to Mike and Dare.
Takumi grabbed his pack and was still writing a message to Thad as he ran inside the school.
'See you by your locker. Will will make escape from there!'
He ran back into the main building and pushed his way upstream through the departing students until he reached Thad Cotton's locker. He leaned back to wait for the boy to arrive. He hoped, though, his invitation to join them on the beach wasn't going to get otouto-san into trouble as it was sounding like he was expected to go directly home...

"I think you mean Frisbee." Mike told Taki, "Is the saucer flying thing." He liked the guy. Mike had no problem going to the beach and tossing something around. It sounded like fun. Maybe he could dip his toes int he water and feel the sand and water flow. It sounded really good right now. Mike had a break through with Jade. They were friends, and even though Mike had lingering feelings he now knew where he stood, and now Mike could move on to Dare. Maybe Dare would be the one to help Mike.
"Okay Taki, meet you there." Mike called as the older boy disappeared from sight. Mike turned to Dare and smiled at him. "You ready to go?" He asked the boy as he ran a thumb over his delicate cheek. Mike gave him another kiss. He was the happiest he had been in a very long time. "There is more of that to come." He winked at Dare and grabbed the boys hand leading him out the door.
"So lets go pick up Taki. A day at the beach and dinner on the boardwalk sounds fun, and then if you don't mind. I was kind of hoping to spend the night again?" Mike asked almost sheepishly, which was not Mike's style cause he was rather bold but still. He felt the need to ask rather then just impose himself. It did not take long for Mike and Dare to get out side and disappear to the proper entrance to wait for Thad and Taki.

Mike's light touch made Dare feel loved and that was enough to make him happier than he ever remembered feeling before. At least in an ordinary, every day kind of way. "I would be thrilled if we never had to sleep apart again, but I know it is too soon to be thinking that way," he said, resting his blond head on Mike's sturdy shoulder. "I'm ready when you are." He was reluctant to move though. Contentment made him willing to stay put for however long his boyfriend was willing to hold him. But he rose easily when the time came to move, his long legs carrying him beside Mike. "I talked to my dad earlier today. He can't wait to meet you. He's coming home this weekend. He has paperwork to sign and stuff. He just found out about hid next tour which I will probably go with him on and he said you could pull Roadie duty on if you were interested. They're doing the UK which should be really cool. It's been a while, so they are going to take it slowly. A month in each country. Plenty of time to see everything." He couldn't help but grin when people stared at their interlocked fingers.

Takumi whistled softly to himself as he leaned back against Thad's locker, waiting for the younger boy to make his appearance. Life was never dull around otouto-san and that was quite possible one of the reasons why the Japanese boy liked Thad so much. Thad simply cried out for someone to look after him. Wel,, not actualy 'cried' but he gave off that aura of needing it. Takumi was only to happy to offer that care and if in the process they had a stack of fun together then so much the better!
He quickly keyed in a text to Izzy, telling her where he would be after school. He'd be glad to hear from her as her silence was starting to concern him. Had he done something wrong? If so he hoped she'd tell him so that he could put things right.
Finall he caught sight of the other boy and Takumi frowned slightly. Thad was walking - creeping? - almost bent over double and pressed against one wall. It was a comical sight to witness and by the time Thad had joined Takumi the older boy was grinning with amusement.
"Are you sure you should be coming with us?" he asked. "If your mother is expecting to collect you will she not be worried when you don't appear? The last think Takumi wanted was to get his little brother into trouble. That said, Thad seemed quite capable of achieving that on his own!

As they walked Dare had texted Evan to see if he and Patch would like to join them for merriment on the beach. He had told them to meet them at the dumpsters ASAP and then relaxed to enjoy Mike's strong arm around him. There was kind of a thrill he felt when people saw them together. Mike Spruill, the bad boy with the weird kid no one was quite sure if he was male or female, but they were pretty sure was famous. Dare grinned and lifted a hand in a wave when he saw Bree, his favorite red head. She was intent upon her companion, a new girl, a striking Asian with long black hair to her posterior with brightblue streaks near her face. When Dare distracted her, Bree ushered the new girl over to meet them. "Hi Dare, let me introduce my new friend. Tina Chang Durnham. Tina this is Dare Madison, his dad is Maddog Madison from Toxic Religion. She just moved here from New York. and she is Tyler's half sister,"she said with her easy social graces. Tina held out her slim hand and smiled. "Hi, it's really nice to meet you."She blushed and looked down.
Dare chuckled and shook her hand. "It's nice to meet you too Tina, I think you will like it here. This is my significant other, Mike Spruill, Mike this is Bree Marcus and Tina Chang Durnham." He figured that Mike probably knew the cheerleader, but probably hadn't really met her before."We are on our way to meet Taki and Thad as we are going to hang on the beach."

Thad crept along, trying his hardest to avoid detection (a task that ended him more looks than walking normally would have), dropping down every time anyone with pink-hair passed by -- he'd never noticed just how many pink-haired girls attended Gould and Silver, but now that he was attempting to hide from his family this fact was much more apparent. Somehow, though, he made it to his locker without incident, and there as promised Takumi was waiting for him.
"Taxi!" He greeted his friend energetically, straightening and staggering forward with his crutches. "You made it!"
He frowned at Taki when the other boy mentioned worrying his mother. "Y'ain't gon' make me stay?! Not after invitin' me!" He protested. He would deal with whatever punishment his mothers dreamed up later; for now, he wanted to have fun! Just because he knew his mothers would vexed didn't mean he was going to behave as they wanted.
He peered around the older boy, hoping for a sight of the friends he was bringing along. "Aww, I thought you got frien's comin'! They ain't skippin' out on us?" He sulked. Since his friends were in just as much trouble as he due to their attempt at breaking him out of the house, he couldn't very well call them to tag along; they'd never be allowed to hang out ever again! And anyone that Taki was friends with had to be just as cool as the Japanese boy was.

"Nah I wouldn't make you stay behind but I hope you won't get into trouble for this." He fell into step at the younger boy's side and he draped one arm around his shoulders. "Fear not, otouto-san," he added. "The others are waiting outside... by the rubbish bins. We can sneak out of the school by using the delivery gate."
They made it outside and Takumi waved to get Dare's attention. He and Mike ambled over. "Thad, this is Mike. You know Dare... yes?"
Dare quickly told him that Patch and Evan were also joining them.
"Sugoi!" he enthused. "Then it is sure to be a good adventure!" He didn't know Patch all that well but Evan was deemed as another brother to Takumi. "Now, we have to make our escape without any of Thad's family seeing him." He pushed the boy in question into the middle of their small group and he draped his own jacket over Thad's head and shoulders. To anyone witnessing the scene the act might well have earned itself a phone call to the local police station as it liekly looked as if Thad was being kidnapped.
"Just keep up with us and we will soon be clear of the school." The walk to the beach wasn't all that far as trying to fit four people onto Taki's Vespa wasn't even the remotest possibility. He'd come back for it later. "Are we meeting Patch and Evan at the beach?" he asked as the odd little group set off.

(Sorry apparently still having problems with some of my messages going through) Dare moved so that he was part of the circle hiding Thad from out side view. He was so thin, he wasn't sure he really helped that much though with his arm around Mike's waist it did help some. 'Nice to meet you Thad," he said with a warm smile. If Taki liked him, he was sure that he would as well. We need to stop in a souvenir store to see if they sell Frisbees," he suggested, thinking they might find a gaudy one with Venice Beach emblazoned upon it. "I will buy it since I think Rufus will enjoy playing with it when he is a bit larger. "So Thad do you play any instruments? We could use more Band members or roadies.
Bree who was curious to meet Taki whom Dare had spoken about a lot at her brunch had dragged Tina after him. "Hey Dare would you introduce us to your friends?" she asked with a friendly smile.
Dare blushed that he hadn't thought to do so himself. "Bree, this is Mike, my significant other, Taki, who plays bass in our band, his good friend Thad and this is Tina who is new and Tyler Durnham's half sister. It is a surprise that his sister is even prettier than he is, but nice to see. This made Tina blush as well, especially catching Thad's brilliant eyes.
