For once Reggie had decided to be a decent older brother and take his baby sister and her friend out for breakfast. Of course, Jonell had insisted that he not eat at the same table as herself and Shelby, but as his generosity had been inspired largely by an interest in one of the waitresses, he didn't mind too much.
The wait at Uncle Bill's Pancake House was frequently quite long, but once seated service was quick and excellent. The food was delicious, as well, though of course Jonell insisted on sharing with her friend rather than eating a whole meal herself. That was what friends were for, though! Sharing food, getting mani-pedis, and trawling the mall for deals on cute clothes. And of course, spying out cute boys together.
"So there's this new boy in my class," She explained to Shelby, "He's super cute, but I think he's kind of shy. It's cute, though. I really hope he asks me out." She didn't realize that he'd already been snatched up, but then this was only the tenth boy that year she'd wanted to ask her out. She'd just go on down the list once she found out. For now, though, she had her sights on Sebastian.
"He didn't come to school yesterday, though, so I hope he's okay..." She continued, then trailed off as she spotted him across the patio, "Omigod, there he is!" She whispered, grabbing Shelby's wrist, "I'm gonna go say hi."
She stood and strode over to the boy and the woman he was sitting with, making sure to tug the bottom of her shirt to show more cleavage. She didn't really care about his mother, but she wanted him to notice.
"Heeey," She greeted her current crush, twisting her hair shyly. "Sebastian? Didn't think I'd see you here. Were you sick yesterday? I was worried when you didn't come to class."

Sebastian nearly dropped his fork in shock, completely not expecting Jonell Estes to be present at one of his favorite breakfast establishments on the American Mainland. Still, he had enough sense about him to be polite, and after swallowing the rather large chunk of pancake he had in his mouth, stood to greet the girl.
"Oh.." mumbled Sebastian, obviously taken aback. "H-Hello, Jon-Jonell.."
He shifted uncomfortably in his seat, fidgeting around for a means to escape this precarious situation.
"I-It's nice to see you.. Here... At breakfast... In the.. erm.. pancake house..."
At the mention of his absence, Sebastian couldn't help but squirm in his seat, obviously uncomfortable with the prospect of talking about that particular event.
"Y-Yeah.." replied Sebastian, scratching his head anxiously. "I was... sick.."
Smiling lightly, the boy moved towards Jonell and landed two brief pecks on the girl's cheeks. Having been born in France and spent quite a bit of time living in Francophone areas around the world, he didn't think too much about giving anybody (least of all girls) a traditional "allo"-peck on the cheeks.
As he would later find out, Jonell probably had different ideas.
"W-Well.. Sh-Shayne an-and I are going to a c-carnival today for a two hours before my ap-appointment to... to the d-doctors."

Fallon had lied to her mother, claiming she was spending the night with Ezzie. Yeah Fal felt bad for lying, but she knew for a fact there was no way in hell she would have let her daughter spend the night at a boys house. So Fallon lied. The night had been fun. It was perfectly harmless and very innocent. Which was perfectly fine with Fallon. She enjoyed just talking. Fallon had never been to Uncle Bill's. So this would be fun.
She excused herself to the bathroom for a few moments. She texted her mother to check in, and used the bathroom, washed her hands and then walked back out. She spotted Sebastian giving this strange girl two pecks on the cheek. Fallon was familiar with European customs, but it still sent shivers of jealousy through her body. The other girl was obviously better looking then Fallon. Fal took a deep breath and walked over with a smile.
"I'm back." She said in a sing song voice. Fallon noticed another girl was with them. She smiled at both girls and held out her hand. "Hi. I'm Fallon." She held out her hand attempting to be friendly. She was probably over reacting. It was just a greeting anyway. This girl was probably one of Sebastian's friend she had yet to meet.

"Sick?" Jonell repeated in concern. Okay, chill, it couldn't be contagious if he was at a crowded breakfast eatery and then attending the Carnival. Still, the fluttering that accompanied the (annoyingly chaste, but then his mother was right there) kisses was dampened somewhat by the thought of staying home from school because of whatever he had. She couldn't really afford to miss school, after all; she struggled enough with her work when she actually attended. "You must really feel awful if you're going to the doctor, then. Are you gonna be at school Monday? I can bring the work by your house." She offered, making a mental note to coerce Reggie into driving her to the Flambert house should her crush agree.
She tensed as another girl joined the group, immediately perceiving a threat. But Sebastian had kissed her, not this other chick, so that was a good sign. Maybe this girl was his sister? That was probably it, no need to get so defensive just yet.
"Hey, I'm Jonell." She responded, shaking the other girl's hand quickly. "Sebastian and I have a few classes together. You must be his sister." She guessed, praying that she was correct despite a sense of foreboding. It would be quite wonderful if this girl he was eating breakfast with was his sister, anyway, because that meant she wasn't a threat. If he was eating breakfast with a girl who wasn't his sister, well, that was just a problem, especially if she'd seen the kiss. Really it would be a bit awkward if he went around kissing every girl, because that meant she'd set her sights on one of those annoying player types. He didn't seem the type to be much of a player, but then she'd been wrong about boys before frequently.

His sister....did she really look like his sister. Fallon looked at Sebastian, nope...no way. Could Fallon really be mad? It was always safe to assume when a guy and girl were together they were siblings. After all if you implied something else you could wind up with an eww, gross or slap across the face fro being insulting. At least thats how Fallon rationalized it. Fallon was about to correct this woman, when another thought occurred to her... Had Sebastian told Jonell he was with his mother and his sister? Why would he do that?
For a moment a feeling of heart break washed over the poor girl. After all they shared,he was going to say she was his sister. Perhaps she was wrong and still over reacting. Or maybe it was something else? Fallon was not use to reacting so strongly to new people. But something about this girl irked Fallon. Was she...jealous...no way....no...right?
"I am not his sister." Fallon said in a friendly voice, with a tiny bit of harshness. Fallon looped her arm through Sebastian's. "We are really close friends...." She said with emphasis on the words close and friends. After all they had yet to define themselves as being a couple. Sure they kissed a few times and he admitted to liking her, but the question Will you be my girlfriend had yet to be asked.

Shelby had been so excited when Jonell had invited her to spend the weekend with her. Jonell might have been a Silver girl but she was a sophomore, thus cooler than any freshmen that Shelby could hang out with. They were sharing breakfast of course, mostly because who wanted to pig out on pancakes...gross. The last thing Shelby wanted was to feel fat for the rest of the day.
"Oh really," she said when Jonell gushed about the boy. "All the boys in my classes are gross," she said, thinking mostly about Thad Cotton and how he'd asked her out. "You're soooo lucky!" Shelby peeked over at the boy when Jonell said that he was there. He was cute...seemed maybe a little odd, but Shelby wasn't about to question Jonell's taste. She knew better than to question anything any of the older girls did. There was a hierarchy after all and Shelby knew that she was at the bottom...and as long as she didn't screw it up, she wouldn't be the bottom much longer. It wouldn't matter if she was a freshman or not.
She nodded excitedly, egging her friend on to go over to the boy, Sebastian. He was sitting alone. Shelby turned back to have a little more breakfast. Chewing slowly and then taking a sip of her fresh squeezed orange juice, before taking another glance at Jonell to check on her progress. To her horror, Fallon Cotton had joined them. Did a girl like Fallon really think that she was even competition for Jonell?
Shelby watched it unfold for a moment, but Fallon looked territorial. Shelby decided that she should intervene. On her way over to the group, Shelby heard a slight harshness in Fallon's voice which was unacceptable. Didn't she realize that Jonell was much more popular that she was?
"Hey, Jonell," Shelby grinned, "Hi, Fal, how are you," Shelby said matching the same tone that Fallon had used when Shelby overheard her telling Jonell that she was not Sebastian's sister. "You must be Sebastian," Shelby grinned, her tone soft once again as she turned to the boy and offered her hand, "I go to school with Fallon," she told him.

Completely oblivious to the ominous clouds of estrogen gathering about him, Sebastian Flambert continued on with his air of characteristic -- albeit slightly strained -- politeness, addressing all three ladies with a sheepish smile. Unfortunately for all three ladies' the boy's attentions were focused less on their glowering stand-off and moreso on the stack of strawberry-cream crepes stacked on the breakfast counter.
"Oooh.." murmured Sebastian in delight, his gray eyes flashing brilliantly at the sight of the strawberry crepes.
A squeezing sensation at his arm brought him back to reality, courtesy of Fallon Cotton.
"Y-Yeah.." he mumbled, caught off guard by the sudden appearance of his sweetheart. "Fal, Shayne, and I are going to the carnival and the doctor's later.."
He grinned, squeezing the girl's hand affectionately.
"Erm.. B-But Jonell.. It w-would be nice for you to.. erm.. pick my homework up on Monday.. I think I m-might be out of town.."
By that, he meant an additional checkup with the counselor's, scheduled earlier in the morning by Shayne herself. Ever since last night's revelation, the older woman had vowed to make herself an active force in Sebastian's rehabilitation process, understanding the need to address and treat the issue as quickly as possible.
"Nice to m-meet you.." added Sebastian somewhat absentmindedly, shaking Shelby's hand. "Erm..."
Unsure of what to say to this new acquaintance, he kept quiet and turned his attention back to the crepes. In as subtle a manner as possible, the boy shifted his head to within a hair's length from Fallon's left ear, whispering softly into the opening.
"You ever have crepes?" inquired Sebastian innocently, pressing his lips slightly against the girl's ear in an affectionate peck. "They're very good."

Jonell gave Fallon a level look. Close friends. Really? He'd only been in town for, what, two days? And she already had competition? That shouldn't have been surprising, as he was really, really, really cute, but it was so vexatious! Why were the cute ones always snatched up before she got to them?! It wasn't fair! And this girl wasn't even all that great. Sure, she was kind of cute in a girl-next-door sort of way, but who wanted to be the girl-next-door? That was just boring! And since when did boys go for that kind of thing, anyway? Weren't they supposed to like the sex kittens? Which brought another thought, too horrible to contemplate for long: maybe she wasn't sexy enough! But she strove constantly! She wasn't good at school, so she needed some talent, and looking cute had seemed like an easy one. Granted, there were always boys willing to cooperate and buy her things/compliment her/drool over her, but they weren't the same boys that she wanted to date.
She was grateful when Shelby strode over to reinforce that she was so much cooler than this other girl, but it didn't seem to work very well. Especially since Sebastian decided to kiss Fallon on the ear. Ugh! So he was one of those infuriating players! Just another Brent Adams in the making! She decided not to voice this, however, as Shelby's (really cute) older brother was also a player.
"Great. I'll drop it off for you." She glared at her rival, regretting that she'd asked to take him his homework if he was going to try and play every girl that he came across. Maybe she could convince him that she was better than this Fallon girl? She was better!....wasn't she? She certainly hoped so.
"I guess we'll leave you and your friend alone, then." She decided, because he wasn't being at all as responsive as she'd hoped.
"Try not to catch anything," She whispered maliciously to the brunette girl as she passed. He may not have responded appropriately, but she could still attempt to sabotage any relationship they had. (Ha! As if a player would have anything permanent.)

Fallon knew Shelby. She heard rumors about how the girl turned down guys she found non worthy. Fallon did not like that very much. it was mean. Then again each person had their own taste. She did not get why girls could be so cruel. what was the point. Fallon just continued to smile as she watched the interaction. When Sebastian placed the kiss near her ear she smiled slightly more and shivered a little. He was adorable. "Nice to see you Shelby. Always a pleasure." she told the blond.
Fallon looked at Jonell, "You have to leave. Such a shame. i was looking froward to getting to know you." Fallon did mean it in a way. Fallon was friendly and enjoyed making friends, but she also saw this girl as a threat and it was that whole keep your friends close and enemies closer sort of mentality. The girl was beautiful and sexy as hell. Way sexier then Fallon, so she felt a tad jealous in a way.
As Jonell passed by and whispered Fallon looked at her, "And what does that mean exactly?" She could not imagine what Jonell was getting at. After what Sebastian revealed catching something was the least of her worries.

"But you don't have to leave, Jonell.." quipped Sebastian, returning to the table with a sizable stack of crepes on his plate. "I m-mean, I suppose you could have breakfast w-with us if y-you'd like."
He was in a far better mood than usual, and almost felt sorry for the two girls.. Both eating alone.. Sure, he hardly enjoyed Jonell's daily attempts at flirting with him, but seeing as all three girls were familiar with each other and seemed (in his naive mind) good acquaintances, it seemed like a shame to deprive Fallon of company on his behalf. Besides, Fallon did say she was "looking forward" to getting to know Jonell... Right?
Shayne sighed softly, shaking her head at Sebastian's naivete.
"Th-The crepes are really n-nice.." he added, rolling one strawberry crepe off from his plate and onto Fallon's. "B-Both of y-you should.. should try them.."
"I'm afraid that we'll be leaving soon, dear.." spoke Shayne, cutting in to stop a potential cat fight. "We've only got about an hour at the carnival before we need to visit Dr. Van Maren."
Almost immediately, the grin on Sebastian's face wilted at the reminder. He was far from looking forward to wards discussing the details of his experiences with another stranger -- especially on such short notice -- and desperately was looking for some way out of the inevitable.
"Do I really have to go?" asked Sebastian in French, his voice wavering slightly. "I.. I.. I don't want to do this.. Please?"
He tugged lightly on Shayne's sleeve in a very childlike manner, temporarily reverting back to his five-year-old persona.. Sebastian of the Rose Garden..
"Please?" he asked again, a detectable hint of distress in his French. "I.. I.. I don't want to go.."
He glanced over at Fallon with pleading eyes, almost begging her to come to his aid. Fallon, of course, couldn't understand French and more often than not had no idea what sort of conversation was being carried out by mother and son.
"Fallon." asked Shayne, looking knowingly towards the teenage girl. "Traffic'll be around soon, so we ought to make a move on in a bit. I take it that you had enough to eat?"
The older woman stood up from her seat, patting her son on the shoulder affectionately. Extending her hand out to wards other two, she flashed a warm smile, glancing over each girl's appearance with a careful eye.
"Nice outfit.." she commented, noticing the designer jeans on each girl. "I have a pair of those too.."
As the Chief Executive Officer of that particular brand, she couldn't help but smile at her company's presence here at breakfast, of all places.
