Shelby did not think that Jonell deserved to be treated second string to Fallon Cotton. But she supposed it was better not to make a scene. She glared at Fallon when she tried to confront Jonell based on what she'd said. "What do you think it means," she hissed, taking off after Jonell. She didn't bother to stick around to say bye to the boy, who couldn't even seem to make out a competent sentence.
What was Jonell thinking anyway? A boy with a stutter? Shelby didn't care if he was cute...which he was. He stuttered and clearly had a thing for Fallon, or at least the kiss on her ear suggested such. They seemed to be leaving anyway and the other girl with them that Shelby didn't know complimented her jeans which was cool and all, but Shelby didn't really care at the moment. Looking out for her friend was more important.
"Can you believe them," Shelby said to Jonell once the rest of the group was out of ear shot. "I can't believe he'd like a girl like Fallon Cotton over you--she goes to me school, he little brother even asked me out," Shelby said with a shudder, she made a face. "She's nothing, trust me. He's new--maybe he doesn't realize that yet, or he's blind or something, cause clearly you're much better looking," Shelby pointed out, hoping her efforts would console Jonell a bit.

Fallon smirked as Shelby hissed. She kept her voice calm, collected and void of everything except friendliness. "I think she means, nice to meet you and have a nice day. In which case I wish her the same. You both have a good morning." Fallon could be a bitch like the rest of them and there was no way she would let some freshmen get under her skin. Especially the one who seemed destined to be some lap dog. Although Fallon knew she should not judge, which is why her voice was kept friendly. If Jonell wanted to be her friend then Fallon was fine with it, but you can't say she was mean at all. Jonell had been friendly and so was she. Shelby could hiss all she wanted.
Fallon turned back and eyed Shayne. She looked to the ground a tad ashamed at her moment of posessiveness. She had been a tad jealous, okay more then a tad. "Thanks for breakfast, but maybe I should go to." She felt bad for how she acted. She felt like a fool. Sure she had been friendly. But the look on Shayne's face told Fallon she knew what was going on.
Then Sebastian suggested he not go. Fallon eyed the boy and squeezed his hand and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "I think this is something you need to do Sebastian, and it will just make you stronger. Trust me. You have no idea how awesome you are right now." Fallon smiled at him. She used her thumb to rub the back of his hand, "Please do this."

Jonell flounced back to her seat with Shelby, ignoring both Fallon's question and Shayne's compliment. There was really no reason for her to hang around and be part of some boy's harem, after all, not when she was looking for long-term and monogamous.
"Ugh, really?" She sighed in response to Shelby's comment about Fallon and her family. Why were lame guys the ones most eager to actually ask girls out? Were there truly so few good ones they were already snatched up before she'd even noticed them?
She did agree that she was better looking; she worked hard to be attractive! But it was discouraging to always be passed over, only ever noticed by the boys who would hit on any girl -- even the gross nerdy ones. "Yeah, whatev. She's probably just easier. I should've known better than to trust some skeezy French guy." She decided as she resumed her seat. "Are you done? I don't think I'm hungry anymore."
She'd have to drag Reggie away from the waitress he was courting bothering, of course, and he wouldn't like that very much, but if Shelby was finished, too then they might as well leave. "Boys are dumb, I don't know why I even bother. I always think they'll be cooler than my brothers, but it's never true. You're lucky, at least you have one older brother who isn't totally annoying. So that's one guy out of God knows how many that's actually half-way okay."

"Seriously," Shelby agreed. "He's not worth it. I mean, if he's going to date someone like her, clearly he's not good enough for you," she said. She wasn't sure what else she could do besides trash Fallon to make Jonell feel better. Shelby hadn't really dated much yet. She wasn't interested in any freshmen and a lot of the upperclassmen weren't so eager to date a freshman...except that Xavier guy...but he was just ew.
"Yeah, I'm finished eating," Shelby said. She wanted to get out of there too. She didn't feel like talking about that lame French guy and how he was into someone even lamer. "Yeah, I do have one cool brother," Shelby agreed, "but I think my twin makes up for it in lameness. I mean, ew. I don't understand how we're related let alone twins," she said, cringing. "Anyway, lets go brother your brother and get him to take us back to your place," Shelby said. "Or maybe he could drop us off at the mall," Shelby said. "We can buy you a super hot outfit to wear on Monday and then Sebastian will totally be eating his heart out when he sees you," Shelby smirked, hoping that this would cheer up her friend. Plus, going shopping was always fun.
