So I finally posted the rules, because I realized my attitude had been "but all the players know the rules already, they've been around since before I was modling"....and that's just not true anymore.
Any feedback? Rules I should add? Anyone want to try rewriting them in a cutesy, amusing and interesting way so people will remember and not go "blahblahblah I've read these all before?"
ETA: oh. By the way, I know some of you are way better at graphic editing than me. So anyone want to make some pretty banners for the board? This one is lovely and all, but I would like to change things up about once a month. Especially since someone was offering to help make the layout prettier, and I would love to have a new color scheme and graphics before jumping up and down and screaming "yes"
And if anyone wants to help with the superlatives, that would make me happy. They don't need to be done right away, just I am slacking so hardcore. I know Les said he would help with them, but I hate to dump it all on him. Still....c'mon, my graphic editors, I know you are out there.

I don't think I'm the best graphically either, but I do know my way around photoshop and would be willing to help if you'd like. If you split up the superlatives, I would make some. And I can play around with some banner ideas and see if anything sticks.

So me saying I'm going to think about banner ideas kinda equaled me making a banner instead of getting ready for my internship like I should be doing...damn places with really flexible schedules! I can make it on time, but make it flexible and I'm always late  Anyway...I have the graphic done mostly, except for the words...see I have a silly questions...is this game still called Time of Your Life? Or is it Gryphons Nest/ Spinx Den? Or basically what is the name of our group called now??? |

You can do Gryphon's Nest and Sphinx Den, or just Gryphon's vs Sphinx, or something of the like. WE are no longer called Time Of Our Lives.

Just thinking of the top of my head here guys so if its a bad idea blame it on the hyper the coca cola gives me.
Maybe we should up the post minium to 250 words...
I'd also like to see more about family histories in people's applications, so adding minimums to character histories personalities and appearance maybe something we should do as well.

250? My head will esplode, especially if I'm grasping at straws in some postings!  As for graphics, if anyone is interested, picnik.com is what I use, its free (you can pay $25 a year and get more options) but its very user friendly so if you flub up you can undo what you did. Les  |

We aren't asking for graphics programs, trust me. Dry has them. LOTS of them. She uses them. The tools, the filters, etc. She just wants other people to be involved. The word min will stay at 200, as it was voted on previously. We like the quality of the game as it is now and want it to be accessible to people who may just be getting started in the RP world. We want to encourage people to write and 200 is a reasonable request. Maybe, at some point in the future, we'll up it. But extended posts are always applauded. It's not a bad idea, Owen, it's actually a really great idea. But we do want it to be accessible. There are a lot of games out there that aren't newbie friendly. We were all there once. It's humane to encourage the up and coming. Les, you've been doing great. If you're grasping at straws, then you're spinning it into gold. |

If his grasping at straws I don't see how... I've worked with people in the past I struggle to get more than two lines out of per post, let alone two hundred words... I came here and was surprised to find the quality of players and writing here...

Thank you, Anna. Yeah, I have Photoshop and Gimp and OpenCanvas. I want Illustrator. I know how to use them, although I could probably stand some tutorials for more advanced work. but as Anna said, I want to involve other people more. Show off player work, since the players are the game, not me.
Okay, so I will work on divying up awards between Les, Cheryl and myself (and anyone else who volunteers)
Owen, you are right. There was a word minimum for different parts of the character application, I think I forgot to keep them when I copied it. Oops. I'll re-add them.
