'Izzy-chan. Are you busy this evening? Would you like to see a movie or something? Give me a shout. Taki'

The sound of Takumi's bubblegum J-rock ringtone rang out not much more than 10 minutes after he'd sent his own text. He rummaged in his pocket and pulled out the device, smiling happily when he saw
a) who it was from and b) what Izzy's reply was.
He hadn't seen her all day and he had to admit he was miffed at that sorry situation. Not that it was either of their fault but he was happy to be able to remedy matters.
With the somewhat goofy grin still on his face Takumi sent a reply as he walked along the pavement towards home. Head bowed and concentrating on his task he quickly keyed in a brief message back...
'Sugoi! Then shall we meet by the pier and then decide what to do? I am not sure what films are showing but we can choose together. I am very much looking forward to seeing you. X Taki'
One day he knew he would adopt the western mode of shortening his messages but until then they would continue to be relative epics in their content.
A spring in his step, Takumi increased his pace so as to reach home that much quicker. A shower for himself and a change of clothing before he would set out to meet up with Izzy at...
"Kuso," he swore benath his breath, pulling out his phone once more.
'Is 7 ok?'
It would make sense to set a time and he'd forgotten to do that in his initial reply, excited at the thought of seeing her again.

Izzy her her ring tone go off for her text messages and got excited as she pulled the phone out. She read the first message and when she was about to reply the second message came through. Izzy had missed seeing Taki, and she was glad she would get to see him tonight.
"7. Perfect. See you at the peir. Can't wait. Missed you. XO- IZ"

"What time will you be home, Takumi?" called out Yoshino Hajime.
"Not late, chichi," he called back to his father. "I'm meeting up with Izzy."
"Izzy? Who is that? Have we met him?"
"Her. Izzy is a girl, chichi."
His little sister, Mayuki, giggled. "Taki's got a kanojo."
Takumi glared at Mayuki, his heart far from in it and he grinned seconds later. It was impossible not to grin at his sister's gentle taunts.
"Kanojo?" Takumi's mother peered into the room. "You have a girlfriend, Takumi?"
"Hai, mama. Her name is Izzy."
"When will we meet her?"
"Yes, Taki. When?" bounced Mayuki.
"Maybe later... Maybe not," he stated before bolting for the door... and the haven it offered from the endless torrent of questions.
* * *
He arrived at the pier early and for two reasons. One was to escape the teasing back home and the other was born out of sheer excitement at seeing Izzy once more. He wasn't at all sure what they would do, or if indeed a film was showing that they both wanted to watch. If not he felt positive they'd think up another form of entertainment but even a stroll on the beach with Izzy's hand in his held a great appeal.
He leaned back against the railing and stared down at the far end of the pier, eager for his first glimse of his 'kanojo'. Takumi smiled, liking the sound of that.

Izzy was ready. Her hair was blow dryed and straightened. Although her hair was straight to begin with, but the way Izzy did this, it gave her hair a little bounce. Izzy actually had a hard time trying to figure out what to wear. For once in her life, she just could not figure it out. Izzy finally decided on a blue jean skirt and a purple tank top that had flowers all over it. She decided on platform, flip flop shoes. Izzy did her make up but it was not overly done. It looked natural. The she picked peach lip gloss in hopes Taki would not mind the taste and applied it before heading out.
However she got caught. "And where are you going dressed up...you look like you have a date..." Jett laughed from the kitchen table.
Izzy laughed and turned around, "It just so happens I do have a date, with my boyfriend. His name is Taki."
Jett snapped his head up. His English out the window as a Korean shout out of his mouth. The basics were coming out, why did you not tell me, how could I not know, who is this guy? All in Korean.
Izzy just laughed, "He goes to our school, he is a good guy named Taki, and I do not want to be late. I will be back later."
"Hey I want to meet this guy....not fair you hear me..you cannot keep him hidden." Jett said laughing.
Izzy just smirked as she got to the door, "You will meet him soon I promise. "
Jett just watched his sister for a moment, "Fine. Have fun. Be safe."
Izzy waved by as she left before Jett could let loose more annoying questions. Izzy drove to the pier and applied her lip gloss once more. She did not look any different then she would at school, just a tad more dressed up. Izzy spotted Taki and smiled and big smile with a hint of a blush. Izzy made her way over to him and hugged him as she approached and gave him a kiss on the lips. "Hey."

Takumi's patience was soon rewarded and he pushed himself away from the railing when he saw Izzy approaching. Her kiss was warmly returned and Taki slipped his arms around Izzy's waist, not all that keen to release her once their lips had parted.
"Kawaii," he said as he looked at her in close detail. "Kawaii... it means cute," he quickly clarified. "You look very cute, Izzy." She always did but today even more so. Maybe it was the hint of colour in her cheeks that added to that description. Yes, she usually had colour but today it seemed to make her eyes glow.
For himself he'd dressed reasonably normally in a pair of drainpipe style black jeans, a t-shirt (not one bearing the image of Hello Kitty for once) and a long hooded waistcoaty type affair that ended at his mid thigh. Reasonably normal indeed and even the brightness of the vivid green t-shirt didn't make the outfit look too bizarre (taking into account that the waistcoat masked the majority of the red and white striped 'rising sun' logo that comprised the t-shirt's front.
"I have checked the cinema and there doesn't seem to be much showing that I have heard of. Is there a movie you would like to see perhaps? If not then we can always revisit the lighthouse," he finished with a wink. "We never did find out if the ghost was real." For himself, though, he was sure the lady spectre existed. He'd felt her breath on the nape of his neck.

Izzy blushed at his comment that she was cute. "Thank you. You look very handsome as well." She said with a bright smile as she snuck another kiss. This whole having a boyfriend thing was nice. for once Izzy liked a guy who actually liked her back. It was not a one sided crush. for now this seemed surreal and soon Izzy feared she would be pinched awake and this was just another dream that was twisting her mind, but sure enough as Taki spoke and suggested the light house Izzy was reminded this was in fact real.
"The light house, are you just using that as a n excuse to scare me so I will never leave the comfort of your arms." She suggested in a joking manor, with a smile and glint in her eyes. "Good thing I am not a big movie fan unless they are at home. I think the light house idea is a good one. We can get to know each other better, and I brought food." Izzy motioned to her bag, "A few Korean delicacies, I was wondering if you would like to try."
Izzy could cook. She could follow a recipe and she had been working on Korean food, since she was Korean, "I have dumplings and Wha Jeon." Izzy realized Taki probably had no idea what she was referring too. He was still learning English, how could she expect him to know a few Korean based food. "One is sweet and the other is more like a snack. Two of my favorite dishes and I wanted to share them with you." Although for now she was neglecting to say she made them. Izzy held out her hand, "Shall we go to the light house and begin an adventure."

"Really?" Takumi's eyes widened in surprise as he hadn't expected her to agree to revisiting the lighthouse. In a way he'd only been joking but the idea of being alone - and with Izzy maybe a bit scared - appealed a lot. "And you really spoil me, Izzy-chan!" he added with a laugh. "You thought to bring food... I am afraid I didn't even consider that idea but I can at least buy some drinks to take with us, hai?"
The ice cream place where they'd arranged to meet stocked a fair number of soft drinks and while Takumi wasn't all that keen on fizzy ones he knew they had a good variety of flavoured water.
He grasped her hand and they ran into the parlour, resurfacing in fits of laughter a few moments later.
"It wasn't my fault!" he stated as they laughed anew. "How was I supposed to know Mountain Dew wasn't really dew? They should call it Mountain Soda... or something." Making a fool of himself in the shop hadn't been all that bad as they could both laugh over his misunderstanding. Takumi had merely wanted to ask the shop-keeper which mountain the dew had been gathered from. A simple mistake.
In high spirits - perhaps a good description given their spooky destination - they headed for Izzy's car. Taki had walked to the pier and so using her set of wheels made far more sense than heading back home for his Vespa.
He settled in the passenger seat, half turned towards Izzy so that he could watch her drive.

"Yes, really." Izzy replied with a small laugh, "Why not make our first date unique and memorable. I think it will be fun. Something that we will defiantly forget. Especially if we really do see the lady's ghost." Izzy said with a bright smile. In retrospect, had Izzy actually thought about it. She would see how this idea could mirror her dream in a way. The dream she had that night after they all went to the lighthouse. The one where she had been possessed by the lady and fell out of the tower window, only to be saved by Taki and then to kiss him. However, Izzy did not think of that yet. "I enjoy cooking, so this was nothing out of the ordinary for me, but now that you say it, I could use a soda." She followed Taki into the store.
Izzy was laughing as they left the soda shop "Next I will have to remember to explain certain titles to you, but that was precious. When you asked about the Mountain. I cracked up laughing." She told Taki. God he was adorable. Izzy was lucky to have a guy like Taki. There was something existing every time she was with him. Something that amazed her even more. And she only knew him a few weeks.
Izzy led them to her car and got into the drivers seat. She buckled her seat belt and prepared to drive, "I am actually nervous about the light house this time. Its so creepy, but I guess I do like being scared. I know that sounds weird but there is something fun about it." She drove with ease to where the light house was. "I wonder if I have a blanket in the back. I usually do because I take it when I go surfing." Although Izzy was not much of a surfer at all. She preferred to watch Jett, Ben and Eden surf.
