Bree’s outburst was a complete surprise even to Tyler, having never seen his friend act this way before, nor had reason to expect her to. She had started to become more confident, more her own person since the death of her father (which had come much too late to Tyler’s mind) but to see her go off at Xavier was something he wasn’t expecting. He was, at the very least, impressed and proud that the shy girl he was once only loosely acquainted with was becoming a woman who wouldn’t let anyone take advantage of her. He was also just a little bit turned on. Something about a fiery woman was very sexy.
But before he could step in, back up his friend and insist that the wannabe Casanova leave, a rather cute, perky looking girl joined them. And he was surprised for the second time in the last two minutes, seeing the newcomer turn on Xavier with pepper spray. He watched, in slight surprise, along with everyone else as the guy ran out of the gym. Finally.
Laughing, he gave the girl a small round of applause before letting her and Bree get talking. “Well Cam, looks like it’s time for the ladies to get back to practice.” He shot Haley a quick grin, she was pretty cute after all, before turning back to the other guy. “Why don’t we sit over here, get acquainted?” With a broad grin, he squeezed Cam’s shoulder as he would an old friend’s, leading him to the side of the gym. “It’s Tyler by the way. So, Haley’s boyfriend eh? Gotta love cheerleaders.” he laughed. “Say, ever play football?”

Cameron felt his nerves peak as the other boy didn't seem as complaisant as the others. There was no doubt in Cam's mind that this was the troublemaker of the group and the others were just trying to calm in down so he wouldn't be so rash. But then one of the girls from the Silver squad joined their group. He didn't know her name but he recognized her from Haley's practices. She was a no nonsense kind of girl clearly because she shot the troublemaker with pepper spray without a second thought.
Although Cam hadn't been the one shot with it the scent still reverberated and the group quickly dispersed. Like the other boy said, the cheerleaders headed back towards their practice, Cam gave Haley a quick kiss on the cheek and squeeze of the hand before letting her go. One more reminder to the others that she was his.
The other boy, who was clearly a Gould guy, seemed like one of the popular ones. He seemed to lead Cam away towards the bleachers as if he was actually interested in getting to know him, unlike the popular Silver guys. It made Cam feel good about himself, maybe it was possible for him to fit in with the popular kids...even if they weren't the ones at his school. It seemed the two schools were starting to get along, starting to bond, especially given all they'd been through together.
"Yeah, I'm Haley's boyfriend," he said, "sorry I didn't catch your name," he said to Tyler, sitting down beside him, simply smiling at the cheerleader comment. Cam had never been confident enough to watch their practices before he started dating Haley. "No, I've never really played," Cam admitted about football, mostly he was pretty sure he'd get completely crushed if he did, not to mention that he didn't know the rules. "Are you on Gould's team?" he asked the other boy, eager to get to know him as if maybe it would help him feel like he fit in a little more.

Tyler’s games weren’t just reserved to matters of the heart, and lower places, he found enjoyment toying with anything and anyone. And Cam seemed to be the perfect subject for such. After all, it was clear the guy somehow got very, very lucky in scoring Haley. Just from appearances alone, the couple were in very separate leagues. Haley, being a cheerleader, would normally be automatically moved to the top of the social ladder, but the fact that she happened to be gorgeous to boot just cemented her place.
Cam, on the other hand, seemed quite opposite to his girlfriend. He was really nothing special to look at, rather scrawny actually, and most likely couldn’t tell one end of the field to the other. He was probably more of an academic, perhaps quite smart if Haley was interested. There had to be something to appeal after all, and though intelligence wasn’t something known as a turn on for cheerleaders, he couldn’t think of what else it could be. He and the other male were so very different. It could make things rather interesting.
And, another option that was playing on Tyler’s mind was to take the guy under his wing, in a way. Kind of how Sloane took Bree under her wing, and look at the girl now. He needed something to spend his time on when he wasn’t training or wining and dining the ladies. Plus, he was keen on having some sort of boys night out soon, and with the few guests he already had in mind, Cam would be an interesting addition.
“It’s Tyler Durnham.” he happily introduced himself, taking one of Cam’s hands to shake. Of course his companion didn’t play, by the state of him he would go down after one tackle and quite likely not get up again. He was probably more of a...how did they phrase it...mathlete. “I am. Don’t wear the jacket too often, so it makes it a bit harder to tell, but I’ve been on the team for a couple of years now. Love it too. Not many things more satisfying than landing a tackle perfectly. A few of the team and I often have practice matches, just playing around. You should come one time, it’ll be fun.” He would have to warn the others to go easy on him. Or not. That would be funny. “Some of their girls come and watch, you could bring Haley.”
Stretching out his legs, he watched the cheerleaders in silence for a little while. So many pretty ladies. He loved being him. “So, you’re attending Bree’s brunch on Saturday? Good, I was starting to worry that I would be one of the very few males there, surrounded by women. Not that it’s a bad thing, far from it.” he laughed. “But you know how women get when they get together, it’ll be good to have an excuse to avoid shopping talk.”
A particularly impressive tumble by a rather flexible, cute sophomore Tyler wasn’t yet acquainted with, but would make an effort to change that, caught his attention again before he turned back to the guy by his side. “So Cam, or do you prefer Cameron? How do you spend your time?”

Haley caught Xavier's comment about flirting, but ignored it. There was not point in replying. He was obviously having issues or something. Then Bree went off and Haley took a step forward to stand next to Bree in case Xavier tried something. "It's okay Bree." She told her new found friend. But then Candace showed up and pepper sprayed the guy. Haley could not help, but laugh, "Thats Candy for you. Never mess with her." Haley knew Candy because they were on the same team.
"I think Xavier screams like a girl." Haley laughed. She nodded as Bree said she could lead the cheer. "Sure thing. Let's get going." Haley smiled as Cam gave her a kiss and squeezed her hand. That got looks from some of the other cheerleaders. Of course it would. Haley eyed Tyler once and then walked off. He was cute, but once again not her type. The look was more of a warning to be nice to Cam, but its not like Tyler would understand that. She just met him, so no way would Tyler know her looks. So all Haley could do was pray Tyler was nice to Cam. Hell, perhaps Haley could enlists Tyler's help in getting Cam to become incorporated into the Popular crowd. Haley made a mental not to speak to Tyler later.
All she wanted was Tyler to hang out with Cam a few times and get to know him better. If people saw Cam with a guy like Tyler, then things might be easier for him. She felt bad sometimes, trying to bring Cam into her world. However, if Cam was to hang out with her and they were to be public, then hanging out with he popular crowd was a must. Although Sometimes even the popular crowd got on Haley's nerves. What attracted Haley to Cam was his intelligence, and his look. He was a nerd, a geek and something about that drew Haley in. Perhaps she was not the typical cheerleader, but she was starting not to care. However, she did still want to be popular. Hence the whole having Tyler hang with Cam. Then he could get use to it. Although Haley was not sure she wanted Cam in the popular crowd. All the parties, the flirting and everything else might be too much.
Haley started to lead the cheer, which involved a few flips and turns and some sexy, but cute poses. "And thats the cheer." Haley told the girls. Haley walked voer and got her water bottle to take a sip. She smiled at Cam and turned back to the girls. "So Bree what is this I hear about a Brunch? Sounds fun."
(OOC. Sorry I suck with coming up with cheer moves and stuff, so sorry for lack of description)

Bree had stopped for some water as well and wiped her face on her towel. "I like that cheer, Haley, that should get their hearts beating," she teased with a grin. She liked the provocative cheers because they woke up the crowds and made them pay attention. "Oh good Cameron did tell you, he promised he would. Saturday morning I invited people I thought would like to help on a committee for a charity to honor the students that were lost or injured in the shooting. It is something I hope that will help stop it from ever happening again. We're having the brunch at the Four Seasons and will discuss the Charity after everyone has settled down. I really hope you will come. Maybe you could even co-chair the committee with me. It would be good to have someone from both schools."

"Nice to meet you, Tyler," Cam said, shaking the other boys hand, nodding as the other boy went on about being on the football team but not wearing the jacket. He sort of liked that. The guys who wore the jackets all the time usually came off at meat heads. Tyler on the other hand had class. He seemed like he was smarter than the stereotypical jock. "Oh tackling practice..." Cam said his words trailing off. It was an act that sounded sort of gay but coming from a guy like Tyler who talked about it which such confidence it made it sound like it was okay. Okay, but still not something that Cam was ready to participate in. "Thanks but...I dunno, I mean, I'm not really one to kid myself, I know half the football team is twice the size of me," Cam admitted. It wasn't something he liked to admit but anyone who wasn't blind could see it was true so there was no reason to beat around the bush about it. "Thanks though," he said once again, nodding.
"Yeah, I'll be there," Cam said about the brunch. "I didn't really know who would be there aside from Bree, and well Haley," he said although Haley hadn't really confirmed she'd go since he hadn't had a chance to really talk to her about it, however now that he knew that she and Bree knew one another, he was sure she'd be there. "But I'm glad that I'll know somewhere else there," he said. "It does seem like a good cause."
Cam followed Tyler's gaze to the cheerleaders. He checked them out too but let his eyes linger on his girlfriend the longest. She was definitely the hottest one. Or at least to him she was. "Oh Cam's fine, or Cameron, doesn't matter," he said with a shrug. "What I do..." he trailed off, not really wanting to admit all of his nerdy activities. "Well, I'm in a few clubs," he said under estimating himself. He had a club almost every day, although admittedly he'd been cutting down his attendance in them since he's started seeing Haley. "And I work part time over at the Griffith Observatory, but that's more for fun...I kind of like science..." he admitted lamely. "What about you?" he asked, hoping to turn to conversation so it was less about him, "well, besides football."

“It’s not always size that matters. Speed is important too, we have a few guys about your build on the team, real speedsters there.” Tyler wasn’t one to kid himself either, anyone could tell from just one look at Cam that any of the cheerleaders practicing in front of them had a better chance of making Gould’s team than the guy sitting next to him. Actually, Cam had more of a build to be a cheerleader himself, if only he was strong enough to lift up and support a girl. Something which the footballer strongly doubted.
“It is.” He agreed, though he already forgotten about the cause behind the brunch, if he even knew it in the first place. He was only there for the ladies after all. A cause was all well and good, and his father was all for them, for image and all. Tyler’s view was the same as his father’s, spare the time if it could be spared, look good for doing so, and when you can, escape and throw money at the problem. Money could solve everything. He would welcome the opportunity to socialise a bit more, he was a very social creature after all. Plus, it would be interesting to see how Maggy would act when surrounded by people so much more like him than her. And to see how comfortable she was with their non-exclusive dating agreement ie how she would act when he flirted with other women.
Tyler knew it though, when Cam mentioned he was in clubs. He seemed much more of a club than team kinda guy, and not the fun clubs either. That might very well change when Tyler finished with him, if the footballer decided to embark on another project. He was a busy man after all, couldn’t go wasting his time on things that weren’t profitable to him, or entertaining. He was willing to bet that a couple of those clubs included a chess club, and some sort of role playing thing.
“Science huh? And space. Yeah, I know pretty much nothing on the subjects.” Tyler readily admitted with a laugh. “Nothing outside what we’ve learned in school, anyway. Besides football, well, school wise, I’m on the debate team. My father was on the team at his college, he recommended I join the one here. It’s surprisingly fun, and I’m really persuasive when I want to be.” he smirked just a little.
“Besides that, work out a lot, but that’s all related to football. Guess just the same things as everyone our age, partying, women, hanging out with my mates, you know, the usual stuff. I am getting a bit more into reading though. Don’t tell anyone, got my rep to think about after all.” he added with a laugh. Not that he cared about people judging him. It was much more likely that if people found out he was a reader, all his fan club would turn into readers. Tyler always did his own thing, to hell with what anyone thought. The only opinion he ever cared about was his father’s.
“A girl I’m kinda seeing has got me reading H.P Lovecraft. You’ve heard of him? I hadn’t till she quite happily introduced me. It’s kinda weird, but not too bad. I’m worried I’m gonna graduate from that to Lord Of The Rings, and start dressing like a hobbit.” Laughing again, he ran a hand through his hair, his eyes never straying from the cheerleaders. “So you and Haley, that a serious thing?”

"It's my pleasure, its rather fun to see someone with an ego that big get knocked down a few notches!" Candace replied with a laugh. She gave Haley a nod of approval, after all this wasn't the first time she had to mace someone.
"We have been practicing some new cheers. Are you on the Silver team? I am having a brunch on Saturday if you think you would like to come, we will be talking about a charitable project," she said softly. She thought she might enjoy getting to know Candy. She seemed serious in the same way she herself was.
It was a comfort to see the red haired girl calmed down. "I am one of the Silver girls and I think the cheer is a great idea!" She caught herself starting to go on. "I need to change quickly but I'll be back to catch up on what I missed so far."
She headed to the locker room and slipped into the uniform and pulled her hair back since it liked to have a mind of its own every so often. She watched Haley perform a few of the moves. "That looks hot! That'll get people on their feet for sure!"
"I think we should have some sort of tableau at the end." She commented working the moves out in her mind. She was distracted at the mention of the brunch on Saturday. "Commendable idea, I don't want to invite myself but I'd like to take part in it, if thats fine with you."

Haley briefly watched Cam and Tyler. It looked good. Although Haley had no idea what she was trying to do. Did she really want Cam to be popular just because she was? As long as he did not start walking around with a letterman's jacket and getting a big ego then Haley saw no problem with it. Although she might want Cam to be more bold then he was, she liked the face that he was a geek. Something about it just drew Haley in. Haley would definatly need to talk to Tyler though, because popular guys could be cruel and she did not need something bad happening to Cam.
"Thank you both." She said to Candace and Bree as they complimented her cheer. Haley was thankful she actually got to led for once. Usually she was in the background doing the learning, but this was a good change. "You want me to what?" She asked Bree astonished. "I would love it. Thank you for the offer. My dad is always saying I should get more involved in causes such as this." Of course her father was a Hollywood producer, but he still managed to be involved in multiple charities and causes.
Haley listened to Candy's idea. "It might work. Just work out the moves and I am sure we can find a way to bring it into the cheers. After all its what we do right." Haley said laughing. "But brunch sounds good. Count me in and you can count me in as co-chair. I would love it." Her dad would be so proud now. Haley had a wide smile on her face. "You said its at the Four Season's right. I was just there the other day, lovely location Bree. I really have to admire you for creating such a committee."

Cam continued to nod nervously as Tyler kept going on about football. "Well...I go to Silver," Cam pointed out, "which is another reason I probably shouldn't take part in the whole tackling practice thing." Cam wanted no part of it and he hoped that Tyler wouldn't press the issue because he wasn't sure if he'd be able to think of any more excuses and might just have to agree if Tyler kept going on about it.
"Yeah," Cam agreed about the cause. "I mean maybe Bree's plan does seem a bit idealistic, but every bit helps. Gang prevention might not stop them altogether but it couldn't hurt," he said. He was glad that Tyler would be there because from the sound of it, it would be mostly girls. Cam of course didn't mind being around girls, it was just a bit nerve-racking sometimes. He'd learned to talk to Haley and through that he was much better at talking to girls in general, but he still by no means considered himself good at it.
Cam nodded, "Science, mainly physics and astronomy, math, all that kind of stuff," he said with a shrug. "That's what I've always been good at," he said. "Debate...not so much. I'm not really as good...with words..." That wasn't completely true of course. Cam was fine when it came to his English classes and he even spoke 2 other languages...it was just the actual talking to people that made him nervous and screw up all the time.
"Really...H.P. Lovecraft," Cam said with a nod. He was surprised that Tyler would date anyone that read H.P. Lovecraft, let alone was reading it and enjoying it himself. "That's cool though. I always liked reading," Cam said. He laughed about the Lord of the Rings comment, "You can read Lord of the Rings and not want to dress like a hobbit...there are way cooler characters to dress up as anyway," Cam said, pausing a moment to let out a laugh, "kidding," he said, hoping that he wasn't coming off as too lame.
