"We can't deny the 80's. Where would music be without the hair and Aqua net." she laughed. She laughed more when he commented on how old they sounded. "You're right. I sound like my Dad." she shook her head. "The man who blames the Beatles for the downfall of rock'n'roll music." She wasn't a huge fan, she liked some of their music. But she wouldn't go so far as to say they were to blame for any problems or downfalls in the rock genre now.
It was kind of personal, but she wasn't exactly trying to keep some secret about her family from people. It was just something she didn't really talk about. It was her and her Dad and had been most of her life. So, that was what was normal to her. "Ok, I will. I give that rhyming thing a try sometime. Maybe I"ll become the next Dr. Seuss or Shel Silverstein or something."
"Leave it to me, to be the protector of reputations." Oh, so they were jamming tomorrow after school. "Tomorrow? After school." she nodded. May be she would check them out. May be. She couldn't believe she was even considering doing that. But it might be fun.
She shrugged and ate a few more bites before she pushed her plate back and laid her chopsticks down. "How do I answer, without sounding totally lame and like a complete loser."

Though he wasn't as huge a fan of the Beatles, claiming that they were the downfall of rock and roll music was a bit too harsh. The Beatles were an awesome group. They produced really great songs during their time. "The Beatles could never be blamed for anything except being awesome." He shrugged.
"Dr. Seuss was a genius. If anyone could make people even consider trying something like green eggs and ham, it's him. I forced my mom to put in green dye in my eggs for five months straight until she made a doctor lie to me and say that the dye was going to make my intestines turn green. I hated everything green after that. Until my mom force fed me sushi." Grayson was talking a lot. He should stop. Taegan might think he was weird instead of the cool guy he thought he personified.
Gray just chuckled at Taegan's 'protector of reputations' line. Isn't she adorable, he thought to himself. "Yep," he nodded. "Tomorrow after school. Maybe we could walk down my house. It's not really that far. Or by bus." He shrugged non-committedly. He didn't want her to think he was eager about her coming or anything.
"How do you answer that? I dunno...whatever your answer is, it wouldn't sound lame and I wouldn't think you were a loser. No good would come of it." But I really want to know, he thought. And he did. If she was single then Gray might have a chance to woo and wow her during the jamming session. And if she had a boyfriend then...she might end up liking his band and being a regular at some of his shindigs at bars and pubs. Who knew.
The waiter came by with the bill and Grayson paid without even asking Taegan if she wanted to go Dutch. She didn't even eat so it seemed rather unfair for her to pay. He left a big hefty tip for the waiter and then looked at Taegan. "Wanna bounce?"

"I didn't say it." she held her hands and laughed. "That's my Dad's opinion not mine. I am not huge ubber fan of them, but I wouldn't blame them. They made some great contributions to the art form. You got to give credit where credit is due. But I don't know if I personally would go as far as to say they were awesome."
"Your mom made the doctor tell you you'd turn your insides green? That's a bit harsh don't you know think. I think most parents would have been thrilled that their child was willing to eat like that, even if they did have to dye it green." She didn't mind his talking at all. It was nice actually. If he didn't do so much talking, and it was left up to her to keep the flow of the conversation going they would be in trouble.
"Great, sounds great. After school then, tomorrow. Should I meet you anywhere in particular?" Unless they were just going to take a chance on fate letting them run into one another again. It might be helpful to have a plan this time to actually met.
"Well, I just back into town a few days ago. So, my Dad allowed me to miss a few more days of school to get settled back in. So, today I thought since it was my last day before I had to go back, I'd go out and see if the town had changed much while I was gone, but seeing as how it was a school day everyone else was in school." she shrugged. "The few close friends that I have anyway..." They were more like acquaintances anymore she had been gone so long. And as for a boyfriend. She was about as single as they come.
She looked at him as he paid the bill. She couldn't let him do that. She wouldn't feel right. "Hey, what was the total?" she asked and she would give him at least half of whatever the overall total was. "Let's get out of here." she nodded.
