Roxy watched as the other boy seemed to be reluctant. He didn't think it would be a good idea. Well, Roxy didn't think so either, but it seemed like something fun to participate in anyway. That was the point. So somehow she had to convey that point without upsetting Thad. "Come on," she coaxed. "It will be fun," she explained. "Haven't you ever done anything that you weren't supposed to do...usually it makes things more fun..."
She looked back to Thad when he tried to explain how if they helped the vampires they'd be turned into them. She was pretty sure that was not what the other guy wanted to hear. "Or spare you. Ya know, if you don't want to be a vampire...and you still help them, they'll spare you instead of eating you...and it will be fun," she said, flashing the boy a cheesy grin. "Right, Thad," she said, poking her friend playfully in the side. "Fun!"
She pushed some hair off her face, still looking at the other guy. She had no idea she was intimidating him, or she wouldn't have been coming on as strong. She also had no idea that Thad thought she liked him. If she did have wind of that she would have set him straight...let him in on the joke.

"Oh, yeah!" Thad nodded enthusiastically, rubbing his side where Roxy had poked him -- harder than was necessary, he was certain. "Loads a fun!!" He assured the other boy, eager to enlist anyone who showed even the slightest inclination to care about the war between supes. He decided not to respond to the comment about being spared, since he wasn't entirely sure how Sidra felt about letting potential meals go free even if said potential meals had allied themselves with her kind; he couldn't very well make that kind of promise without speaking with her first.
The bell rang out in warning, and he jumped, glaring up at the ceiling. "Aw, drats!" He moaned, realizing he had just spent his entire lunch period in debate instead of eating. He wondered if his Algebra teacher would notice or care if he ate during class, and the answer was: undoubtedly she would give him detention and then his mothers would be called. Maybe he could try and skip, it was only one class, after all.
"Think it's time ta blow this joint!" He announced, "Fore the weres take over an' stuff." He shoved a stack full of fliers at Roxy, "You in fer sure, then? Meet after school an' help me out, kay? Tell Ezzy. Oh." His face fell as he remembered that they had a rivalry going; what if Roxy didn't give the other girl his message because she wanted him all to herself? "Uh, I'll tex' her an' see if she can make it."

"Yeah, I'm totally in," Roxy said taking the fliers. Maybe she wasn't as dedicated as Thad was to the cause but she knew it would be fun and there was nothing wrong with supporting a friend's cause. She nodded when he mentioned meeting his locker after school. She was confused about his instructions regarding Ezzie, but chalked it up to Thad just being weird sometimes. It in no way occurred to her that Thad would have taken their joke to heart and really believed they both had crushes on him.
"Oh, whatever you want," she shrugged. "See ya after school then. Maybe we can eat before we rally since I'm hungry," she said, although she'd skipped lunch before and knew she'd be able to tolerate it until the end of the day. Before she headed out of the cafeteria though, she caught up with the other boy who'd been undecided about the whole thing, eager to help Thad find another supported.
"Hey you," she said, once again having no idea how nervous the other boy was around girls. "You should really think about joining us," she said, handing him another flier. "We're meeting at Thad's locker after school...that's 143." Sensing his nerves though as she spoke, she decided to flirt a little, thinking it might help. "Or you can stop by my locker first if you want. I'm 163...right across the hall," she smiled. "So yeah, if you need anymore convincing, I'm Roxy," she said, flashing another smile. "Hope to see ya after school," she said, tossing her hair behind her shoulder before turning and heading away. She really hoped that she'd recruited another for Thad's sake.
