No rehearsal tonight.
The three words that was music to Jeremy's ears. He could actually focus on his home work tonight as well as work out the details of the upcoming weekend with Jade.
He sat in the cafeteria with the earbuds playing 'Younger than Springtime' aka his solo in 'South Pacific'. He listened get the idea of the song as he followed in the script marking where he should take a breath or where would good spots to cheat. He occasionally looked up to rest his eyes.
He smiled as he saw Mom sit at a table with someone he didn't know, no doubt her instincts were sitting in. He took a bite of his sandwich as he turned the page in the script.
The table of jocks seemed to be growing louder by the moment, nothing but Neanderthals. He sighed and turned the volume up slightly trying to drown them out.
He restarted the song and double checked his markings making sure nothing was mismarked. Everything seemed to be correct, as he hummed the song quietly. Each breath he needed in the song was working out perfectly.
He was quite content with everything, that was until someone bumped him hard, he ripped the ear buds out ready to put who ever it was in their place.

When the bell went to signal the end of the morning, Theo followed his translator out of the room with a smile on his lips. It was a slow walk against the crowd as he went back to his locer to retrieve his food from it. Theo never ate what was on offer at the schools mainly because they had very little in the way of vegetarian food. That and they were never very specific about what was on the menu, or what was in it.
Theo walked into the cafeteria a few minutes later, walking to the counter and asking whether they could heat up his food in one of the school microwaves. He brought a drink while he waited and was pleased to be able to head for a table. He knew that there were a lot of jocks at the school a couple of them took great pleasure in taking the micky or at least trying to. As he walked past a set of football players when he was sent careening into some guys back, he glared as he righted himself at the jocks who had managed to nearly send him to the floor, his food was still in tact for the most part, some of it had landed on the tray he had.
"Idiots." he grumbled at the boys in question as he turned to the boy he had been knocked into. "I'm... so sorry, some people... have no tact." he said with a shake of the head.

Jeremy's temper cooled down knowing the bump wasn't intentional. "It's all right, no real harm done." He sort of felt like a heel after thinking he was going to rip the kid a new one.
"C'mon and sit down, there's room for two." Jeremy gave him a smile to show no hard feelings were at hand, at least not towards him. "I'm Jeremy." He offered the other teen.
He scooted over to make room. "I think I've seen you before, you to Silver don't you?" It was a decent way to make small talk without being too nosy.
"Those guys are nothing but cavemen. I have to meet a football player who doesn't think they're hot stuff on a silver platter. To be honest, I think they're making up for what they lack in other areas." There was that tall kid in the show, and he seemed to have a head on his shoulders although Jeremy didn't really know DJ that well.
He closed his script and powered off the IPOD, right now there was a person who needed a shoulder or two. Jeremy didn't mind it though, the good you do now will come back to you.

Theo smiled as he sat down near the boy at the table, without taking up the boys personal space, he took the lid completely of his currey and smiled as he poked at it. There was one great thing about his family, they supplied him with good food they knew that he would eat without complaint.
"Hi Jeremy, nice to meet you... I'm Theo." he said to him. "Yeah I'm going to Silver... though in fairness I haven't actually seen the old place yet. I transfered in while we have been at this school... its a lot more different... than what I am used to in New York." he said to the boy silently cursing the fact that those idiots had tripped him was getting to him. His vocal skills being shown to be less than stellar once more.
"I think your being hard on the cavemen... but sure thats as close as we are going to get." Theo said to him with a smile before taking the time to take a mouthful of food, he had a look of bliss on his face before swallowing it. "They see a black man who is deaf, and who likes to dance... and they immediately feel like they have... to put them in there place." Theo told him with a smile on his face. "You get used to it... you shouldn't have to... but you do." he said to him.
