She had been placed with a temporary foster family, Mark and Cindy seemed nice enough at least. The hospital had worked with Social Services and gotten her placed with them, at least for now. Either a regular home would be found, or hopefully, one of her friends might offer up a place for her to stay. She hurt, god she hurt in so many places. Cindy had wanted her to stay home for one more day, after the hospital had released her the morning before. Skye had not been able to take more then one day sitting at home.
Mark had driven her in, stating he could leave work if she needed a ride home at any point during the day. She couldn't drive, not with the amount of pain killers coursing through her blood, and the fact that she could still barely move her knee. Hopping on crutches with cracked ribs and a backpack was...interesting. Painful at best. Skye managed up hop up the steps into the school.
She looked...ok. The bruising on her face had been covered by makeup, the wrap on her knee covered by loose pants, and a long sleeve shirt covered most of the cast on her left hand. Oerall, she felt like she had been hit by a mack truck, but she looked better then she felt at least.
She carefully made it to her locker, out of breath and in pain. Crutches were set against the lockers as she balanced on one leg, swinging her backpack to her front so that she could swap out her books.

Nate had heard Skye was released, but he wanted to give her a chance to settle in with her new family. Although he did not know much about it, but he had heard a few things from Skye. So for now Nate would wait. He hoped she was at school, because it was sucking not to have someone to talk to. Jay and Trixie were in this cold war of sorts, so Nate was literally like monkey in the middle and it was not fun.
Nate slept in late, so when he woke up he had to rush to school At least all his homework was done, for once in his life. he usually waited to do his homework in the class prior to when the homework was due. it worked so far, although not very well. But Nate felt motivated or some shit like that.
Nate made his way to his locker. The one he shared. When he got there a smile spread across his face as he saw her. Skye was here. Thank god. Someone to talk to that was not going to yell or scream at him to pick a side. Nate walked over and smiled, "Well hello there...can I help?" He asked. "You know in come countries swinging a book bag like that can be considered a lethal weapon." He was referring to when she she slung it from her shoulder.

She turned, her face lighting up in a smile, a small one but one nonetheless. "Hey.." She said, keeping a hand on her locker for support and balance. "Lethal weapon huh? Maybe I should have had it with me the other night." Yeah, it was a weak joke, making light of the attack a few nights back, but at least she was there to talk about it.
"I wanted to call you last night, but getting settled in, and everything, I kinda lost track of time..and I didn't wanna call at midnight." Skye told him, looking over at him as she shifted her books and stuff into the locker, making sure that she didn't mix them up with Nate's. She glanced down the hall for a moment, hoping to see Nero, whom hadn't even bothered to so much as call her when she was in the hospital. Maybe she really had screwed things up beyond repair there.
"And you can definitely help..think I can get a ride home today? i don't want mark to have to leave work to come get me...he's really nice but i don't want him getting in trouble at work."

Skye looked so fragile and broken. he just wanted to fix her back up. Like that Humpty Dumpty song, but sadly Nate had no idea how to fix Skye at the moment. He just eyed her when she made the joke. "Not funny." He said even though he laughed. Nate extended a hand out and touched her cheek. He leaned in slowly and kissed her. A passionate kiss in front of the school. Well actually the locker but oh well. "Of course I can give you a ride home...you know I love to give rides." Nate winked at her.
He leaned against the locker and rubbed a thumb over her cheek. "I don't care if its 2am if you need to call me then call me. i might grumble and be pissed, but hey....what a the point of having a girlfriend if she cannot annoy the crap out of me right." He said joking around and laughing. He grabbed her book bag from her softly. "Let me take that. I can't have you proving you are stronger then me." he smiled.
Nate wrapped one arm softly around her fragile body and pulled her in close keeping in mind her crutches. he held Skye tight and kissed her forehead. He thought she would never get out of the hospital. Sure she had not died and Nate had been assured Skye would live, but it was not the same as seeing her like she was in the hospital. it was worse, but seeing her out made it all better.
