Character Name: William Gregory Owens
Nickname: Will, Owens. Big Willie Style to the mens swimteam
Age: 15
Birthday: March 4th, 1994
Place of birth: Calgary, Alberta, Canada
School: Silver
Grade: Freshman
Appearance: Will stands about 5'8" and is somewhat lanky, though he's starting to fill out. He has blondish hair and light blue eyes that were until recently covered by a pair of glasses, but he hardly wears them anymore now that he has contacts.
His style differs from day to day, though most commonly he wears nondescript t-shirts and jeans or cargo shorts, preppy more than anything else.
Personality: Will used to be a pretty nerdy kid. He was raised with wholesome Canadian values and a solid work ethic. He excelled in school and studied hard. He also played youth hockey in Calgary, where he learned dedication and relentlessness, though he was actually pretty bad at hockey.
When he moved to LA in the 6th grade, he soon learned that studying hard was considered dorky, and was picked on a considerable amount. The next couple years saw him work harder on making friends, though it was to the detriment of his schoolwork.
Now, Will has a somewhat nebulous personality. Inwardly, he is afraid of being rejected by his peers and so he projects a large, boisterous personality. Every day is an act to him, and he usually is striving to get people's attentions with weird ideas and goofy actions. Sometimes he even goes a little overboard and can be kind of an ass, or will get a swelled head when he's the center of attention. People generally find that they really like him or that he's incredibly annoying.
He now hides a lot of who he is and what truly makes him happy in order to please others.
Town Area: Beverly Hills
Job: None
Transportation: Bike or foots!
Family Background and History: Will's dad is the famous (in Canada) hockey player, Trevor Owens. His claim to fame is that he played on the Edmonton Oilers with Wayne Gretzky and befriended the greatest hockey player ever to live. The same year Wayne was traded to the Kings, Trevor was released and picked up by the Calgary Flames. To this day he claims it was the best thing to ever happen to him, because he met Heidi Hotchkiss, the daughter of one of the team owners. The two were soon married and they had a child.
When Will was eleven, Trevor was once again moved, this time to the Los Angeles Kings. Heidi and Will followed shortly after, and the three began a new life in the United States. Trevor is now an assistant coach for the Kings, while Heidi has taken up writing romantic fiction. She has three books, the latest being a New York Times Best Seller. Will is understandably embarrassed by the book.
Class Schedule: 1st Period - Health
2nd Period - English
3rd Period - Art
4th Period - Biology
5th Period - French
6th Period - Algebra
Attendance Length: Since Freshman Year
After School Activities: Swimming, Student Council, Cross Country, Fencing
Likes: Attention, being accepted, swimming, his family, pizza, science, hockey, being admired, and speed metal.
Dislikes: Bad pizza toppings (pretty much any vegetable), people knowing he's Canadian or about his mom's books, failing at something.
Other Information: Will has friends in just about every high school clique, though he is closest with his fellow freshman on the swim team. Because of his branching out, however, he has left a number of friends at the way side, mostly kids considered nerdier by others. He's still nice to them (when no one is looking) but ignores them when he feels it would make him look bad to talk to them. Levi Rubenstein is among this group.
His secret desire is to be a biologist, or an engineer focusing on the human body. He would never tell a soul, however. He also listens to metal when no one else is around.
