Connor's excitement made Kian even happier. "It will be so much fun. We could spend the weekend at Catalina or up the coast somewhere, we can fish and swim. I will learn to cook even. I bet they have some cooking DVDs at the library. What's your favorite meal? I will learn to cook it," Kian promised, figuring his mom was a great cook so he would have to capacity to learn to do it.
"I figure if I get resigned for another season then I will get a pair of jet skis, but that is at least a year off," Kian dreamed out loud and grinned as Connor showed off his hat. "You're very very sexy, I have to restrain myself or I might have to drag you upstairs. The patter of rain drops that abruptly stopped showed that there indeed might be a storm that night."
Rushing to get the glasses to catch the gush of champagne, Kian thought that the only thing that could make his life better were if his Dad were alive to share in his happiness. "We dub you the Sea Panther!!!" he yelled and took a deep sip. "Oh my god! Rain. The roof of the jeep is off!" He rushed back to the parking lot to secure the top so they wouldn't have to drive home with flooded seats.

“Well, I’m a terrible cook, so I can’t complain with you cooking instead.” Connor laughed, though he was rather taken with the idea of Kian cooking for him, fussing over him. “But honestly, you don’t have to go to that much effort for me, something simple would be fine. Though if it would really make you happy, you know, making me my favourite foods and all, I’ve always had a soft spot for Guinness stew.” he grinned.
“Jet skis, well, I would be horrible on those, I don’t have that much balance. I can watch you instead though, I think I can manage that.” he offered with a smirk, then cursed himself for saying anything about it at all. After all, Kian did say that wouldn’t be for another year, and seeing how they’d only been dating for a week, a year was quite a way off, and it might, no, it definitely seemed creepy and possibly stalkerish to already think about a year from now.
It took Connor a few seconds to pick his jaw up from the floor, and attempt to get ahold of himself. He could do this, yeah, sure. “Restrain myself? Or you’ll drag me upstairs? Now, that’s just incentive for me not to.” he grinned back, playfully tilting his hat just that little bit more, before taking a sip from his glass.
Then the rain came and distracted them both. He let Kian run outside, instead just watching amused, safe under cover where he stood. He took another sip as he watched his boyfriend hurriedly fix the top of the jeep, giving a thumbs up when he saw him looking. Eventually though he felt bad enough to put down his glass, and his captain’s hat, and venture outside himself, as Kian was heading back. “I heard the soaked look was in these days.” he laughed.
