Character Name: Grayson Shepherd
Nickname: Gray, Shep
Age: 16
Birthday: 17 February
Place of birth: Riverside
School: Gould
Grade: Sophomore
Appearance: Statistics:
Hair: Dark
Eyes: Hazel
Height: 6'5"
Gray's dark hair is cropped short to his scalp, which is a good look on him but he loves to experiment with his hair. When it grows back he'll be styling it into something else. Even he doesn't know.
His hazel eyes are warm and inviting even though he's such a bad ass. He likes to think that his eyes are tools of seduction.
He's not as tall as he likes but he's grateful that he's not a dwarf. His build could be called stocky but he likes to be called muscular.
Personality: Gray is the sweetheart who thinks he's bad ass. But everyone knows he's a softie. He loves and respects his mother and sister way too much to be the type to fool around with girls without thinking of the potential future they might have together.
He's more likely to be heart-broken than to break hearts.
After his father left, he took charge and got a part time job at a department store working shifts whenever he can. He's dependable, hard-working and believes he has enough heart and integrity to be someone.
He's got a lot of soul and his medium of expression is through his music. Gray isn't a jock so he gets a lot of shit from the popular kids about his singing and playing.
Without his dad around, Gray had to grow up pretty quickly so he doesn't really have any delusions of high school being the best years of his life so he doesn't spend much time socialising so he concentrates mostly on his studies and tries to collect as much extra-curricular points to make it look good on his college application.

Family Background and History: Father - Ray Shepherd - 47
Mother - Jenna Long - 40
Sister - Daisy Shepherd - 12
Ray knocked Jenna up when she was just finishing grad school. She had to give everything up for the baby and they got married with Ray promising to take care of her and the baby and it worked out pretty well but when baby number two came, Ray couldn't deal and he left, leaving Jenna to take care of her toddler and her newborn baby by herself.
Once Grayson was old enough to fend for himself, he helps Jenna take care of his baby sister and for awhile they were back to normal. Until Ray came back and demanded to see his children. For quite some time, the custody battle seemed to favour Ray because of his stable job and the fact that he acquired a house. But Grayson decided the custody battle and full custody went to Jenna with Ray being able to see his kids every other holiday and some weekends.
Although Ray tries hard to win back the trust and love from his kids, the two siblings can't trust or love him anymore.
Grayson still sees his father every now and then but he always comes back home with a frown on his face. Gray doesn't like his dad that much.

Writing Sample: "I think I'm in love with her." The flushed look on his face told me everything without him even saying it. I was doomed. The boy I have been pining for was in love with my sworn enemy.
"Who?" intelligent me feigned ignorance, hoping he would catch the hint that I was not in the mood to talk. Thick-headed him continued. "Leia. I'm in love with Leia. Help me, girl!"
She has a name and I'm...girl?
"What do you want?" I'm quite surprised and very proud of the fact that despite everything that was happening, I was still under control; cool and calm.
"Talk to her for me. I mean you're girls...you talk don't you?" he asked. Thickheaded idiot.
If by talk you mean gouging each other's eyes out and ripping each other's hair and clothes apart then yeah sure we talk...a LOT.
"Yeah we talk." I answer simply. And then the puppy dog eyes come out; those light blue irises surrounded by intense black, hands up in a clasped manner, full lips pouting.
Uh oh. No...don't succumb to his every whim like you always do whenever that look surfaces. Oh girl, give yourself some respect. Where is your dignity and pride? Don't say yes...girl don't...say...
"Sure, I'll talk to her."
No...
His whole body visibly lights up; his eyes shine, his smile widens, the hands come up to my head and ruffle my hair, just like petting a puppy. My God. I am his bitch.
I single-handedly brought the term puppy love to a whole new level.
Great.
