Character Name: Elizabeth Charlene Davies
Nickname: Betty, Liz, but usually Davies
Age: 16
Birthday: 7/16/92
Place of birth: Los Angeles, CA
School: Silver
Grade: Sophomore
Appearance: Liz stands about 5'5" and is skinny enough for her own tastes. Her long brown hair is usually covered in some sort of hoodie, and her blue eyes hidden by a pair of cheap sunglasses. The clothes she wears could be considered a more casual punk look, with sneakers, jeans, t-shirts, and hoodies being common. She's actually quite pretty, but doesn't think so herself and doesn't normally try to look it.
Personality: Some people consider Liz to be bitchy. A lot of times they'd be right. Liz keeps up a very good front by using sarcasm and agression to get people out of her face. She will make fun of people and push them away more often than not, before they could ever get a chance to hurt her. With her friends, however, she is much more relaxed and likes to goof around and be jokey. She finds her friends to be a good escape from the parts of life she hates.
Town Area: Compton
Job: Lynwood Records
Transportation: Her friends or her bicycle
Family Background and History: Laura Chuckner found out she was pregnant while attending UC Davis. It didn't take long before her and Greg Davies were married, and while they thought they loved each other at the time it just wasn't the case. Both "took a break" from college but never managed to return. Soon Ashley Davies was born, and it wasn't long after that Laura found herself pregnant once again, this time with Liz.
The pressures of raising two kids eventually took its toll, however, and after six years of marriage Greg and Laura split up. Both Ashley and Liz were still quite young at the time, and Laura found herself with little help raising the kids. She started working three separate jobs just to keep food on the table and a roof over their heads.
As they aged, Ashley and Liz found themselves to be quite different. Ashley succeeded in school and was quite the teacher's pet. Most teachers started assuming Liz would end up the same, but soon found that she was more of a troublemaker and class clown. She was commonly given detention for talking in class and making snide comments while the teacher wasn't looking. Liz was just as smart as her sister, but she hated school and didn't apply herself.
Her freshman year of high school was one of the most difficult for her. Almost right away she met a boy named Nolan Ahlstrom and the two started dating. It lasted for a few months before the differences between the two really started to show. He was very absorbed into football, and she wanted nothing to do with school spirit. The relationship turned sour and Liz got her heart badly broken. She rebounded to a boy named Haden Kiley, who used her and left her even more bitter about boys.
Since then her high school life has been a mix of pot, skipping classes, drinking, and barely squeaking by. The only enjoyment she takes out of school is playing drums in the band, though she'd never admit it. Her older sister tries to be nice and look out for her but Liz won't have any of it.
Class Schedule: 1st Period - Physical Science
2nd Period - Drama
3rd Period - Band
4th Period - Art
5th Period - World History
6th Period - World Literature
Attendance Length: Since freshman year
After School Activities: None
Likes: Music is the one biggest love in Liv's life. Her favorite bands are usually never ones most people know about, and she prides herself on her indie rock knowledge. However, she can listen to and enjoy almost any kind of music, though counrty is not high on her list of favorites. Beyond that, she likes getting high with her friends and rocking out on her drumset. She isn't the best, but she likes to play anyway.
She also likes scary movies, making people feel uncomfortable, and secretly she loves reading.
Dislikes: School, first and foremost. In general, any sort of authority. People who are completely fake, jocks, cheerleaders, stupid people (which is most anyone) and her dad. He's an asshole.
Other Information: Ever since she was in middle school, her friend have called her Davies. Most everyone else calls her Liz, but her mom still tries to call her Betty, because she loves Betty Davis, even though the names aren't exactly the same. Liz thinks her mom is an idiot.
Face Claim: Amanda Crew www.thecinemasource.com/moviesdb/images/Sex_Drive-7-Amanda_Crew.jpg
Player: Miami
Writing Sample: Liz slammed the door behind her and stomped down the front sidewalk. Halfway around she turned and screamed "Fuck off Mom!" Who cares if the neighbors heard. It would piss off her mom even more, and that was the inevitable goal, right?
Who was her mom to judge who she hung out with, or how she dressed? She was sixteen! She was practically an adult and she was definitely smart enough to make her own god damned decisions.
Her hoodie flared out as she spun back around and stormed down the street. She knew she'd never walk to school, it was way to far, but at least she could walk in the direction her friends were coming so they could pick her up sooner. Maybe she could even convince them to skip first period and go smoke at the beach. That would maker her feel a lot better.
Then she wouldn't have to deal with all the retards in her first class, especially that stupid jock Nolan. Maybe she'd even go so far as to skip ALL her classes today, have a friend call in sick pretending to be her mom...
It wasn't a bad idea, but Liz was starting to worry that maybe she had pulled that one too much. They'd already called her house twice, and luckily she was able to delete the messages before her mom found out. Would it be worth risking it one more time?
