Theo stood in his bedroom at the mansion looking in the full length mirror that he had inside his wardrobe, checking out the look for the day he was determined to look half way decent as he prepared to leave the house.
"Theo." his sister said he looked back at his elder sister with a smile. "Your going in a t-shirt and shorts Theo, how you can be so vain as to look at yourself in a mirror in that I don't really know." she said to him.
"Chloe seriously... I can check... myself out in the mirror without being vain you know." he said to her she laughed as he stepped out of the wardrobe. "Did you actually... want something?" Theo asked her she shook her head. "So you could have come in here with me butt naked, and you didn't actually need something." Theo said to him.
"Your getting better." she said to him.
"Thanks, Nick's been working with me." Theo said to her she nodded knowing how hard it was for him to talk the way he did, he was far more proud than most people assumed he was including his parents.
"I just wanted to say good luck for today." she said he grinned at her lopsidedly.
"If you keep this up sis, I may have to assume you actually care about something other than your next handbag." he teased her she gave a growl. "Thanks Chloe." Theo said to her.
"You have everything?" she asked.
"Yes Chloe I checked three times already, once with dad once with mom and once with my pain in the backside brother, I am not checking for the fourth time with you. Any one would think that I had never been to school before the way you guys are being protective." Theo said to her she chuckled as he sat down to pull his sneakers on.
"I'll speak to you later." she said leaving him in his room alone.
Twenty minutes later he was sat in his car with the school in sight and the traffic down to a crawl, people blowing their horns in every direction possible. It was an annoying fact of life that you got stuck in traffic in any city, but it annoyed him that he could see the school but couldn't get to the student parking lot
When he finally pulled his car into a space, he was stiff and aggitated from being sat in a jam for so long, he crossed the lot heading for the school and what he hoped would be a half way decent breakfast before he started the day.
He entered the cafeteria, one to wait for his teaching assistant and two to get something to eat. When he was done he slid into a chair in the still relatively empty school cafeteria, life was good apparently right now.

Sarah walked through the crowded halls of Gould high. She hated being here. Sure it made the workload easier because there were so many kids that the homework lessened as did the classes in general, but in the end, Sarah liked comfort and being in the comfort of her own school was something she preferred. Sarah was used to being one of the ones on top and with that, came the fact that she liked order to things and she didn't like when things changed on her. There had been enough drama lately...she was over it.
As she continued down the hall, her stomach grumbled annoyingly. Sarah was by no means anorexic and she didn't have any eating disorders to date, but doing some modeling on the side, she'd learned to occasionally skip a meal here and there, so she certainly could go without breakfast. However, seeing that she had a little extra time on her hands before class started she headed over to the cafeteria, hoping to grab a piece of fruit or something before class started.
The caf was pretty empty as she'd expected. There was one boy sitting there on his own...cute, but she didn't know him so she assumed he was some Gould loser. Oh well, no skin off her bones, she thought as she headed past him, in pursuit of a yummy looking green apple that had caught her eye. Sarah had always liked the green apples best. However, as she did so, he over sized Prada bag knocked into him. Usually not one to apologize...one to blame her own faults on others, she almost walked past him altogether, but then, changed her mind since clearly she could have walked in a way where she wouldn't have crossed his path. "Sorry," she said, as she tossed her long dark hair behind her shoulder and turned around to look at him for a moment.

Theo felt something hit him, it wasn't hard, but he hadn't been paying attention to what was going on around him as he sometimes did, so he was a little surprised by being hit, and had to suppress the urge to yelp even though it hadn't actually hurt, then said girl said sorry to him... though it looked like she probably only did it as a reflex rather than actually mean what she had said to him.
"No problems." Theo said flashing her a smile as he looked at the girl, showing that he actually didn't really care or mind that he had just been hit by someone's bag, which could contain just about anything by the looks of it, or absolutely nothing. "You may want to keep... a tighter hold on your hand bag though... I hear there dangerous weapons in the wrong hands." Theo said to her cursing silently that he couldn't seem to construct a sentence completely at the moment.
If you could see a black man's blush, he would have been blushing, embarrassed and irritated by the current trouble with his speech. 'Way to go with being normal on my first day' he thought.

Sarah nodded when he said it was okay, feeling that her apology was like her good deed for the day even though really the whole thing had been her fault. But then again, Sarah was the kind of girl that was secretly so insecure that she had to work hard to keep herself on top, which often meant coming down hard on others, even when they'd done nothing wrong.
Unlike many of her friends, Sarah wasn't super rich. She had money, but she wasn't oozing it like Trixie or Haley, which meant that Sarah had to be smart about things. And she was. She knew how to make her money stretch so she'd have just as good of a wardrobe. And she also knew how to act so that the other girls would never question her authority. Haley was easy...Haley had no desire to be the leader and was perfectly happy doing what she was told. Trixie on the other hand was a little more difficult but usually they seemed to do a little dance around each other that made them both feel like they were secretly better. But Sarah had one thing that neither of her good friends had--she had a clean record when it came to boys. Haley of course had started dating that nerd and everyone knew that something was going on with Trixie and that DJ guy who was popular, but not popular enough. Aly went to Gould now so she didn't really count.
Sure, sometimes Sarah was lonely, but in the end it was worth it. She'd rather have no boys then end up with the wrong ones. She started to turn around to go and grab her apple when the boy continued...purses...dangerous weapons.... Sarah turned back to him and placed her hand on her hip. "What is that supposed to mean?" she said pointedly, "I said I was sorry...what else do you want from me?"
She sort of felt bad. After all, he was cute and it hadn't been his fault, but Sarah never let her emotion show. She wasn't in full all out bitch mode, but she was being mean enough considering he hadn't done anything wrong. But still, she stood there unmoving, her stony face glaring at him as if he'd been the one to inconvenience her.

Theo looked at her incredulously as she took offence to a light hearted joke he had made, 'Wow way to over react girl.' he thought to himself as he sat looking at her.
"If you thought I was accusing you... of attacking you, then I think you probably just had... a massive over reaction to what I said, it was intended as a light hearted joke, it was not meant as a jibe against yourself." Theo said to her. "If you took offense to what I said I apologise, that was not my intention." Theo said to her holding up his hands in surrender.
He went back to his food taking a mouthful of it before returning his eyes to the girl, he wondered whether the girl could get any more confrontational with someone she didn't know. He also had to wonder whether or not all the girls at the school were going to act like this, he had seen the prissy I Must have everything the way I want it girl, it was standing in front of him right now.
'Why do I get the feeling that my day is about to get a whole lot less fun, she looks ready to explode.' he thought to himself.

Sarah continued to glare at the boy. Why had he said that. Why had he had to go against her...make her seem like a fool? Thankfully there was no one else there to witness it all, but still...Sarah hated when people made her feel small. She was the one who was supposed to be on top.
"Right," she said simply. She tossed her poker straight hair behind her shoulder and pursed her lips. "And I am not over-reacting," she informed him. "Do you think you know me or something?" she asked raising her eyebrows. "Well, just so you know just as much as you Gould kids hate us being here, us Silver kids hate it too." Since she didn't know him she assumed he must be a Gould kid. After all, Sarah knew everyone worth knowing at Silver.
She turned on her heel and walked over to the counter and grabbed the apple she'd been eying and took a bite. She didn't know who this guy thought he was, but Sarah was finding him seriously annoying. How did she end up finding these people...who thought they were better than her? No one was better than her! She was Sarah Brody! She was one of the most popular girls at Silver high. She modeled on the side and was successful at it! Not many people in high school could boast that. Sarah did not like this guy. Not one bit.

Theo laughed at this he knew the girl would hear him, their was only one deaf person at the table, or hard of hearing person anyway.
"And how exactly can you be sure I'm a member of Gould, you know when you assume stuff like that without any kind of prior knowledge of a person you make an ass out of yourself, I'm a member of Silver for whats it worth, even though we are in another school right now. And I'm brand spanking new to this school so you know may be being hostile isn't the best thing to do." he said loudly enough to get her attention while not loud enough to draw the entire room, it was strange how the words came to him without a fight when he was annoyed.
The girl had managed to annoy him by this point, he was left wondering how stupid a girl had to be to make assumptions about someone they had never met before, off one innocous comment. The girl had over reacted majorly to something he had said in jest, not something overly rude about her or even made to hurt her.
"Oh and yes if you didn't think you were over reacting before you are now." he said to her in the most condescending way imaginable, in a tone you might use if say you were talking to a small child who had stolen from a cookie jar.

"Right so considering the fact that I know pretty much everyone at Silver...or at least everyone at Silver knows me, it makes me an ass that I would assume you didn't go there? Sorry. It doesn't work that way," Sarah said, shaking her head. Who did he think he was? He was never going to be popular at Silver if she had anything to do with it. And she would have everything to do with it--she'd make sure of it. "Listen, new kid, I don't know where you're from but if you think that people are going to be nice to you just because you're new...you've got another thing coming to you. This isn't a Disney Movie people aren't going to hold your hand and want to be your best friend just because you're here," she snapped. "So, you think I'm over reacting...some new kid thinks he's the shit and tries to give me a hard time and I'm over reacting. Yeah...I don't think so," Sarah said. She was livid. At least people at Silver knew that this treatment of her was unacceptable. They knew to be afraid of her. "A word of advice, learn to keep your mouth shut and find out who you're talking to before you get cocky. Otherwise, you'll never make friends here." With that, she started heading towards the door. She'd finish her apple on the way to class or maybe not at all. The new kid had left a sour taste in her mouth and she'd lost her appetite. It was just as well though, Sarah could hold out till lunch--that's what she usually did. Wrapped unless Theo has more to say to her--you're call
