Since the PM system decided to be buggy (after all these months of working fine) I took down the alert code. If you still want to be alerted about PMs you can edit your own preferences.
To do that just go to the Side Bar, find Quick Links (it's right there at the top) and find "PM center" under the dropdown menu. Then look on the right hand side of the PM box, over the word "Date, you should have this list:
New Message Outbox Backup Messages Preferences
Click on Preferences. Look! You can block people from PMing you and you can recieve both alerts AND emails when people PM you. And hopefully that system is less buggy than the javascript was being.
