Shane was bored out of her mind right around breakfast time. She grabbed a cigarette and walked out of the doors to the skate shop and sat on the ground, leaning against the wall. She was not going to school today... she figured another day off would be great after the worst week ever. She volunteered to work instead. She flipped her shades down on her nose and closed her eyes as she let the smoke just sort of smolder in the area. She was having a really slow day she felt like just hitting the half pipe until her next appointment... which was in a couple if hours. She wore a pair of her favoite ripped jeans and a white wife beater and a black button up collared shirt that she left unbuttoned all the way down. She had her hair in her normal mess. Then there was a shadow over her. She looked up, peering over her sunglasses and noticed a girl. She seemed lost. "Uh... hi..." she said sort of dumbly and lifted a brow. "You need help?"
Carment looked down hearing someone speak. She hadn't even noticed the person sitting down there. "Oh.." she exclaimed. "I didn't see you down there." WAs she lost? Not exaclty. "No...I'm good. I know..exactly where I am."
Shane lifted a brow. "Yeah? You sure about that?" she asked with a laugh as she stood. "Forgot my manners... I'm Shane." she smiled as she held out a hand, her cigarette between her lips as she spoke.
Carmen frowned slightly and only for a moment at the cigarette. Those things were nasty. Not to mention how bad they were for you skin and teeth and overall health. She eyed the other girl...then extended her own hand. "Carmen..."
Shane nodded and stuffed her hands in her back pockets. "Sorry... didn't mean to offend if I did... you just looked sort of lost." she said with a crooked little smile.
"Ok..may be a little. I'm still learning the city. Some of the streets all look the same." she laughed lightly. She didn't mind it though. Getting lost only meant she would discovery else new and exciting.
Shane laughed a little. "Don't we all love getting to know new places? How long you been here, beautiful?" she asked as she took a drag of the cigarette and let it out.
"It can be a pain, but it can be fun. I've found some great little shops that I am going to have to go back to and check out, and I have seen some interesting people. It's been like a big adventure right in my backyard."
Shane laughed and nodded. "I got that... yeah." she said. "Do you like skaters?? Cuz... I totally work here." she laughed as she thumbed to the shop behind her.
Carmen eyed hte place Shane was rferring to. "Do I like them? Well...I don't hate them. But..skating is really *my* thing. But if you're into it.."
Shane laughed a little. "Mm... gotcha... but you culd totally be eye candy." she laughed a little. Shane wasn't exactly a shy one... ever.
Eye candy? Hmm..that had some promising aspects. She rathere liked to be the center of attention. "Eye candy you say?"
Shane laughed as she inhaled some of the cigarette and nodded. She then blew out the smoke away from Carmen who seemed to visibly flinch every time she took a hit. "Yeah... You're definitely eye candy material." she laughed a little.
"Well obviously...I am." she smirked. "That just goes without saying."
Shane laughed she liked this girl's attitude. She liked a girl who knew she was hot but was not overly cocky about it. "It does." she laughed as she looked back at her shop and threw her otherwise polluting cigarette onto the ground and stamped it out. "Wanna get the grand tour?" she asked.
She didn't have anything she had to be doing right now, and seeing as hwo she wasn't in any real hurty to get back to the choas that was her home. May be this little tour of a skate shop or whatever it was could be..fun. "All right..why not."
Shane smiled as she then opened the door to the skate shop and then motioned for Carmen to go inside. "After you."
Carmen walked into the shop and looked around. Ok. It wasn't that bad. Not like it was scary or anything. Nothing like that. "So, this is a skate shop..."
Shane smiled and nodded. "Yep!" she said with a smile. "The half pipe is out there but no one is occupying it yet." she smiled.
"Really? A skate shop and no one's skating? That...doesn't seem right."
Shane laughed. "Probably because most people aren't thinking about skating at this time of the morning." she laughed.
Ok, she had a good point there. But she always had this impress that skaters were a bit obessive about..skating. She waslmost surprised there wasn't a line of people outside waiting.
Shane looked over to her right. "And this is my part of the shop." she said pulling a door open. "Wax." she smiled.
Carmen walked over peeking inside and looking around. "Wax? That's like your speciality?"
Shane laughed. "I've cut hair since I was like 13..." she said shrugging. "So yeah... it is."
"Thirteen huh? I would not have let any of my friends near my hair at 13. i rather like it and would have preferred to have it...ruined or shopped up."
Shane laughed and shook her head. "It was something I did for extra money."
"Well...I ssume then..that you're good. If you're at an establishment like this." she looked at her. "I might be...looking for someone..to do my hair from time..to time."
Shane smiled at her. "Yes. I would love to do your hair sometime."
"OK...well..then I will be see to stop by or call then." she gave Shane one of those contagious smiles she was so known for.
That smile dragged her in. "Mmm.. nice smile." she smiled.
That only made Carmen smile more. "Thanks...I get that a lot." she smirked.
Shane smiled and nodded. "I bet." she said as she looked down at the ground and then back up at her. "So... have you toured the city yet?" she asked. "I'm sure I have enough time to grab... coffee... or breakfast?" she asked.
"Not as much as I would like..getting moved and settled...has been rahter chaotic." WIth the brood they had it was major chaos. "It hasn't left me wtih as much *me* time as I like..so when I steal away for an hour or two..I go exploring."
Shane nodded. "Ok well then would you be interested in joining me for breakfast? or coffee??
Carmen thought for a moment. Well not really thought. But she didn't want to coe off as too eager. "Breakfast, sounds good. Let's..grab breakfast.'
Shane nodded again and wrote a note letting her brother know she would be back... but she was going to grab a bite to eat. "Ok then let's go." she said as she put the note on the door to Wax.
Carmen waited for her to write teh note and they headed out of the shop. "So, what are some good places to go too around here?"
"Well breakfast, lunch and dinner can be found to be quite good in most of the places here but there are a few to steer clear from. Like that one." she said pointing at one of the places across the street and then she kept going.
Carmen looked over and made a note of that. She wouldn't go there.
Shane looked at her. "Breakfast is only the best here." she said pointing over to a diner across the street called "Mama Mia's". "The name is sort of ironic 'cause it's so Italian... Mia is the owner... she is the least Italian woman I've met. In fact she's Irish." she laughed a little. "But the food is great." she told her. "We should go there." she smiled. "Whaddaya say?"
Carment looked down hearing someone speak. She hadn't even noticed the person sitting down there. "Oh.." she exclaimed. "I didn't see you down there." WAs she lost? Not exaclty. "No...I'm good. I know..exactly where I am."
