Despite everything. despite how mean jay might be, considering his plan, he really was only trying to be a good brother. He really only wanted Trixie to be safe and with a guy who would seriously not hurt her. Jay might not have a problem with DJ, but the moment his sister did not come home, that was it. Jay was angry and pissed off and all he saw was DJ keeping her out for no good reason. jay was a guy like that. A guy who would convince a girl to stay out all night and the last thing Jay needed was for Trixie to fall for an asshole like Jay could be.
"Thanks I am trying. Sometimes she seems like she is cold hearted, but to be honest Trixie can fall easily. especially when a guy challenges her." He told Emma. Jay knew Trixie's type and it usually only ended badly for her. "You don't have to be a member. Well you do, but I know the owner so no worries, but to be honest the equipment at the gym at Silver might be easier for you." He told her with a kind smile.
Jay was aware he was an ass and this girl really should stay far away from him. He might have a heart but it was buried beneath a world of pain. Pain he should talk about, but he was convinced he could handle it all. He felt he could control his world, but it was slowly slipping from his grasp and Jay hated to lose control. "I know. I hope to move on and get back to normal when I can. All this is just so crazy. I feel like I am in some horribly written movie."

Emma nodded when he went on about his sister. She sort of wondered why he had such a bad rep. He must let people believe he wasn't a good guy when he really was. She wondered why someone would want a bad rep. She'd been afraid of him, based on it. She'd been petrified that day she'd bumped into his table at lunch and she'd been too scared to not sit with him when he'd told her so. But then he'd quoted her favorite book...and she thought there must be something more to him...and now...hearing the way he cared about his sister, she knew there was.
Emma had always taken care of everyone else. She'd always put her family members before herself, so hearing that Jayson was the same way, made her like him more. She appreciated anyone who could put others before themselves. The fact that he could be an ass...well, he hadn't been one to her yet so she had no reason to believe it.
She shrugged when he mentioned he could get her into the gym. "What is the difference between the equipment there and here?" she asked. Silver was rat infested anyway. She was sure that gym would be closed for some time.
Before she could reply to his next statement about moving on, her father approached. "Emma," he said. "Are you ready to go? Who is your friend?" he asked, eying Jayson.
"This...this is Jayson. He goes to Silver," she explained. She turned to Jayson. "This is my dad--I better go. But I guess let me know about the gym sometime--and if you're sister is alright..." she said pulling a pen out of her purse. She didn't have any paper but she boldly took his hand and wrote her name and number on it. "Let me know when you hear something," she said kindly, before she stood up. "See ya," she said, looking at him one last time before following her father out of the gym.
