Rosalie Naples was running late to lunch. She was speaking with the counsler about her volunteer work and college plans. She gathered up her stuff and dropped it off at the locker after they were done talking. She just had her purse on her since she was just going to buy lunch. She was in the mood for some salad and coke for lunch. She was smiling as she thought of the fact that she gets to have pratice and then stop by the hosptial to see a woman from the nursing home, that was in the hospital after having surgury on her hip.
'Have to get flowers for her' she thought to herself as she walked toward the library. She heard shots and gasped as she saw a group of guys with guns roaming around the school. She whimpered and saw the library and ran in as one of the guys followed her. She saw the look in his eyes as he looked at her form. It was a lustful one and she hoped that she would be okay. She ran into the bookcases and hid till she heard him come in and begin searching.
The last thing she hears is him cursing in spanish and leaving, she also heard him mummer he would find her since he needed a new bitch. And she kept silent as he left, she would not be anyone's bitch. She was sitting there for a while until she heard a noise in the main part of the library. She stood up and crept outfront and peeked around and did not see anyone there.
"Who is there?" she asked in a shaky voice. "Who is there?" she asked again scared. She hoped it was not the same guy or a different bad guy, she prayed it was someone she could trust.

Marrianne had spent her lunch in the library looking over the script of 'South Pacific' and listening to an MP3 of it on her IPOD when the chaos erupted.
She took shelter behind the counter where the librarian normally stood, hoping no one would think to look there for anyone hiding. She took her phone and pressed the "police" button on the phone which she was grateful for having at this time, even though when she first had it, she complained.
She quieted down as she heard someone enter. It seemed to be another student, running for their life. She felt safe anyway until she heard someone else, who didn't sound so light on their feet. She heard the spanish words about finding a bitch and if would have been unarmed Mom would have been on him like ugly on a stick.
Once he left, she slowly got up but didn't see the stack of books on the counter and accidentlly knocked them over. She gasped hoping it wasn't too loud to make who ever the guy was come back but it make someone else speak up.
"Its ok I'm unarmed!" Mom spoke up right away, even though she knew she shouldn't have said she wasn't armed.
"You ok?" She asked as she came from behind the counter.

The doors of the library were flung open and a half dozen men in black uniforms with thick vests and helmets stormed in. They were all business as they searched the library in the only way SWAT and Police knew how in such a situation. Guns leading. They found several students hidden among the books, under tables, and behind full carts. None with guns, and all terrified.
"Stay here." They ordered before moving on, leaving two officers in their wake to make sure no one left or entered.
It was over in the library almost before it even got started. The Police and SWAT presence was taking it's toll on the uprising of the gang shootings, but after Columbine, Paducha, Jonesboro, Virginia Tech, Edinboro, Jacksboror, Savannah... the list continued in a grim pattern. So many schools, hardly any of them getting more than local attention. Yet the police nationally had taken notice, sat up, made a plan and were now going through with it. Take down ANYONE who was in a fight. Don't try to sort who was "good" or who was "bad". Anyone fighting was seen as a threat in that moment. They could sort it out later.
Use deadly force only where necessary. Guns, and knives were necessary. Go for knees first, then more vital parts.

Before Rosalie could say anything back to the other girl the swat teams came in. "I guess we are safe now" she said a bit shakey. She moved back toward the other girl. Moving she sat down in front of the counter and pulled her knees up to her chest. "How long till this is over" she said softly. She was scared and she wanted to see her family to hug them after all this. She looked up at the other girl. "Sit down and join me" she said softly. "It looks like we are going to be stuck her for awhile" she commented.
"I am Rosalie Naples" she held out her hand for her to shake. Might as well make friends why you are stuck in here. Make the best of things. She tried to not think about what was going on outside the library. "Do you go to Silver or Gould?" she asked her. She hopes it does not seem like the stupid rivarly was something she cared about. "Of course it does not matter to me" she said and smiled. "I am not one of those idoits who take it to heart who is from what school" she laughed softly. It felt good to laugh, relieved some of the tension around them.

Seeing the men in blue was a welcomed site for Mom, she wondered how many she knew from sitting court rooms watching her father work on a case.
The girl seemed shaken but calm, very good sign. "You're right, we are safe and uninjured." She sat down next to the girl. "With the boys in blue here, the worst of it is over, thank god for that. You have to count any miracle that comes along no matter how big or small it is, thats what nana says."
"Rosalie, I like that name. I'm Marrianne or as my friends call me, Mom. I just need to say I'm so glad to be stuck with someone who is calm in this situation." She shook the girl's hand. "I'm one of those Silver kids but the way things are going I must just transfer over here and save the trouble of shipping us back and forth!" She chuckled a little. "Someone who thinks like me, sure I cheer my teams on but I don't let the rivalry control my life like some peeps I know."
An officer came to the door. "You two, they want the students at the auditorium, we'll ask for your statement there."

Rosalie stood up and sighed. "I just know that I want to go home" she said to Marrianne. "It is good to meet others who are into the rivalry either. I don't get it, immature boys and girls are into it" she told her as they left the library. "I will stick to my school where I cheerlead, since I like our uniforms best" she said and laughed. "I have seen you around before now that I think about it. I must of been to busy to say hi and I am sorry about that" she said honestly to her.
She tried to be friendly to everyone and say hi to everyone. It is hard to do but she does her best, or try to learn every face even if she does not have their name. "Can I call you Mom or should I just call you Marrianne, which is a nice name to, old fashioned like mine" she smiled. "My parents are going to freak, they will be afraid for me to come to school again" she laughed. "How do you think your parents will react to the news?" She knew not all parents were like hers, and she was very sensative to that.
She tried to be sensative to everyones situation because she knew some kids grew up in a hell for a home. She has worked with them while volunteering and it has broken her heart and she has tried to be softer with them then some others that need a firmer displine. "I know this is out of the blue but would you ever volunteer for the animal shelter. I know they need more volunteers, and you look like you would be great for the position."
