The blond dancer wished nothing more then to turn on her heel and run, as far and as fast as she could. Returning to Gould was nothing like she had wanted it to be. She had not argued with Brian on this because she honestly thought it was going to be better, but she had been wrong. Now she just wanted to leave.
Her classes were pointless, and she honestly paid no attention to anything going on around her. If she was shot, maybe it was a good way out of her miserable excuse of a life. She hated her life, hated the fact that her ex, whom she still loved, was shacking up with some Russian whore who couldn't keep her legs shut. He was better then that.
She sat under a tree, picking at a sandwich and some chips, just completely absorbed in her own thoughts. She didn't care what happened to anyone else right now, let alone herself. The entire world could come crashing down around her and she wouldn't notice, after all, her own world had been destroyed a long time ago. No one cared about her, not her abusive father, not the mother that ran out on them, not the brothers that went off on their own and left her there.

Greg had been out of school for the morning, taping a commercial for some god awful sugar enduced cereal. He had stopped off at McDonalds to grab lunch. He had no idea what had happened at least not until he found a ton of police cars surrounding the school.
He watched in amazement with the people coming out, so many tears and hysterics going on, no one was right to talk to or ask what had happened. He hoped Sandy was not one of those injured.
He found a blond girl sitting alone, who didn't seem to be phased by anything going on. Maybe she knew what was going on without freaking out about everything.
"I guess I was under a rock for 24 hours," He said as he approached her and sat down close but enough to give her space. He opened his bag which had the chicken strip and large fries, the aroma was pleasant. "What happened here today that the men in blue are around here?" He reached into the bag and took out a couple of french fries and started to much on them as he waited for her to answer.
Little did he know the news would turn his world upside down.

Skye was yanked out of her thoughts by the arrival of multiple police vehicles. It was then that she realized that something grave had happened. She stayed where she was sitting, staying out of the way. It was par for course in her life, nothing good ever happened.
She looked over when a boy came over and sat down near her. "I've been under a rock for 17 years." she replied lightly, scrunching up her nose at the sight of fast food. She rarely touched the stuff unless it was after one of her father's episodes and she didn't give a flip what happened to her.
"From the chatter out here, couple of shooters or soemthing..I've been out here most of lunch and kinda out of it most of the day...an elephant could step on me and I'd not have noticed." She answered, looking over at him. "I don't dare go inside to find anything else out...my butt is staying right here till they let us all go home...and then i'll figure out what to do then..."
Skye looked at the boy. "Is this..typical of school here? This was my first day and I already wanted to run before..now I'm realy thinking thi is the wrong place for me."

Greg smiled, not knowing if she was kidding or not. He didn't notice her face as he ate food from the grease pit. Not his usual choice but when schedules collide you make do with what's there.
He nearly choked on his food however hearing about the shooters."There's been a what?!" He shouted, taking out his phone. "I...I have a sister in there!" He dialed her number. "Answer, please answer!" A shaky voice picked up on the other end.
"G--Greg?"
"Its me Sandy. Are you ok in there?" his color came back to his face.
"I'm so scared!! Everyone is in the auditorium. Its.. its like..." her voice cut off with loud sobs.
"Its ok, I'll call mom and dad, just stay put ok?" He didn't want her to hear the panic in his voice.
She sniffed. "I will, your ok too right?" She wanted to change the subject. A lock of her red hair fell into her face.
"Yeah I just got here before the police arrived. I'm outside with umm," he didn't know her name. "A girl and its not what you think."
Sandy let out a small laugh. "I'll wait to talk you when they let us out." She hung up her phone.
Greg knew once things got back to normal she'd be teasing him about this.
"Hmm well not really, unless you count the earthquake a few months go. Normally its quiet."
