Renton, sighes as he sat by himself today in the cafeteria, he just picked at his food with the cheap spork. stabbing at the sickly piece of beef off the plate. He brought the beef hanging off the sharp edges of the cheap spork to his face as he examines it. His lips twisted in disgust. "I forgot to make a new years resolution this year!" He muttered. "I should just become a vegiterian and stay the hell away from the cafeteria, all they do is make shit for each meal of the day!" he said to himself and then sigh and dropped the cheap spork and beef back on the plate.
Renton shook his head and pushed away his meal from him. He didn't have the appitite to eat anymore. He looked down at the table staring at the detailed of the old scratched up marble surface. He could barely see the faint carvings of passed student's piece of work. Suddenly he smelt a strong wift of tomatoe sauce on pasta. Renton's eyes grew wide with sudden fear as he felt his stomach churning. Renton hurried and slapped his hand to his mouth and shut his eyes tight trying to concentrate not smelling the sauce. The last time he smelt tomatoe or even heard it he ran to the mens room and vomit all that his life was worth. But this time it was different, he felt sick but he felt like something was taking over him.
Renton suddenly heard muffle voices around him, and then Renton felt so sick that he suddenly blacked out. Last thing he heard was gasps. As his body fell off the chair and hit the floor flat on his face. After a while he opened his eyes groggly and found himself in the nurses office, starting up at those familiar big brown eyes looking down at him. He let out a painful groan.

When Catalina was done with her class before lunch she was relieved. She had no more run ins with Quenten since that morning. So far he was not in her morning classes. After dropping off her books and getting the ones she needed to walked toward the cafateria. She hummed as she walked, she was going to eat with Renton since she did not see him yet that day. Walking in she stopped and scanned the room. Finaly her eyes found him and saw the look on his face, she remembered that look the night he got sick when they ate out.
She hurried over and before she reached him he passed out. She gasped and sat her books on the table. When a few others came over she asked a guy to help her get him to the nurses office. She put one around around him and put his and her stuff under her other arm as she and the guy got him to the nurses office. She took the seat next to the bed in the office and explained to the nurse she knows he gets sick hearing or smelling anythign with tomatoes.
Their stuff was on the floor as she waited for him to wake up. When he groaned she had to smile. "It is good to see you back to the land of the living" she told him. "How are you feeling now?"

Renton saw Cat standing over him. "Oh she looks like an angel!" he thought to himself, "Ah... I finally died and gone to heaven cause I see an angel...!" he said dreamly with a sheepish smiled as he lifted his head up to reach for Cat who he thought really an Angel with wings, but the moment he lifted his head up from the pillow he felt a strong wave of dizzy hit him, and he groaned in pain again and dropped his head hard against the pillow he cringes in pain and took a sharp breath and exhale till finally he was no longer in lala land.
And then his eyes rolled up at the ceiling and darting back and forth to see where he was at first he thought he was back in the awful hospital. "Oh shite... no no no no, I no more doctors please!!" he croaked as he struggled to get back to his feet but the nurse stopped him and laid a strong enough force with their hands on to his chest. "Now you lay back down mister! and watch that mouth of yours, or I'll feed you soap with it!" the nurse growled as she tried to calm Renton down.
Renton finally got a grip of himself and calm down his eyes again fell onto Cat he smiled at her and then looks back at the Nurse and suddenly his eyes bugged out and he freaked, he jerked himself away from the nurse. "AH OH SHITE!!!" Renton yelped and sat up quickly and back his back into the wall away from the scary looking nurse. "Okay I'm fine now you nag go away!" he begged, shooing the ugly woman off. The nurse glared at Renton and growled as she put her hands on her hip and then swiftly turned on her heels and walked out.
"Damn it, and I thought I was in hell for sure!" Renton muttered and then looks to Cat and gives her a stupid smile. "Hi Cat! I missed you!!" he said as he suddenly threw his arm around her and hugged her deeply. "Oh you don't know how good it is to see you right now it's like a dream that I never want to wake up from!" he muttered into her shoulder. He then let her go realizing he must be sufficating her. "Sorry, I am just really happy to see you Cat!" he said as he swung his legs off the bed and on the side as they landed on the cheap rubbered marbled floor. he then looks to Cat again.
"My God you are more beautiful than the last time I saw you!" he smiled. "You look positivaly glowing!" he said realizing she did seem a different and better person. "You have changed!" he smiled proudly.

Catalina smiled and kept her giggles in. When the nurse walked out she let them out. "You should be nicer to her it is not her fault that she looks that way" she smiled at him. "None of us look beautiful all the time" she said to him. Catalina hugged back Renton tightly. "I am glad to see you to I did miss you" she told him honestly and sweetly. "You were one of my best friends here" she told him when he put his feet on the floor. "How you feeling? Feeling dizzy or anything?" she asked him when he was up right.
She blushed at what he said. She was not use to people telling her that she was beautiful. "Thank you I feel better. I got group counsiling and took some self defense classes so that way I am not completely defenseless" she told him. She did not tell him about what happened in the hallway this morning, she knew Colby would notice espically when he saw her arm, and she knew by the evening her cheek would be a bit puffer and it was sore. "Are you going to be able to stay the rest of the day?"

Renton smiled at her as she explained what had made her changed and feel a lot better about her self. Then when she mention self defense class, Renton couldn't help but grin wide.
"Nice... Hey maybe after school I'll give you a few scottish slaps and punching tricks to add to your self defense techquines!" He offered.
Renton smiled and then got to his feet and stood his full height of 5'11 he looked slightly down at Cat. He wrapped his arms around her again and pulled her into a deep hugging embrace. He bent his head down as he buried his face again into her shoulder he breathed in her scent. It sure was Cat and this was all real she really was here.
"You are my only best friend here too!" he said softly being just as honest and sweet as she was. "I thought I was all alone!" he said. "The only friend I had was Travis but it's different the guy is like a brother to me. But you are something different, like I said before, your my angel!" he said and then finally lets her go from his embrace even though he didn't want to let go but he had to. He held Cat finally at arms length he smiled as he got a good look at her but then his smile turned upside down as he noticed a soft pinkness on one side of her face. It was slightly pinker than the other side, and bigger almost big enough to be a hand. Renton suddenly glared at the hand like pink print on Cat's face.
Renton then gently took his right hand and placed it under Cat's chin and moved her face carefully to one side so he could get a good look at it. And sure enough his eyes telling the truth. Cat was slapped in the face. Renton suddenly felt the anger flaring through his veins and then let Cat's chin go and then looks to her sternly.
"Let me guess that fucking bastard hit you again didn't he?" he hissed lowly. "Why that low life son of a bitch is going to pay big time!" Renton growled. Renton was tired of Quenten, who does he thinlk he is Renton thought. "Damn it does he think he owns this school?? Does he think he owns every piece of ass and can do what ever the fuck he wants?" His voice getting louder. "Who died and made that asshole the Fucking Prince of hell!" Renton bellowed now feeling the rage take over his entire mind. He then stopped and took a deep breath and tries to calm down. He didn't want to scare Cat. Cat was his friend and he was getting tired of that stupid prick throwing his weight around with Cat. "I'm gonna fucking kill him!" he said deeply with a slight shudder in his tone. his jaw clenched and his green eyes now looked to Cat. The fury and anger now made his eyes turn cold and icy with rage. Renton meant it. "I don't care if I end up going to jail for it, at least I did it for a good reason, at least I'll be going to jail for doing something right!" He said.
He then placed his hands on her shoulders and looks to her. "If he touches you again, you may know how to fight but you can't fight him alone, you call me if he tries anything I don't care how you do it, you call me! You hear?" he demanded. This wasn't Renton but he did had a good reason for being angry. Everyone in this school is afraid of that shit. And the only people who can stand up to him in any school was Colby, Travis and himself. Together they probably could make the guy beg for mercy.
Renton then sighs deeply and then grabs Cat by the hand and lead her out of the nurses office and out the door, before the ugly looking nurse could protesst. Renton sped up his walking into a stride through the halls keeping his hand on Cat, he made sure it was firm but not tight. He looked back at Cat. "Come on we gotta get out of here!" he said with urgency. "We're going back to my place and discuss this, and then after that we're getting Colby!" he said as he made is way out of the school then he hurried them to the parking lot where his motorbike stood under the shade. He then let go of Cat and fumbled through the side packs on his bike and pulled out an extra helmet and then hand it to Cat he then looks to Cat, to be sure she was with him on this. "Do you trust me Cat?" he asked with uncertinty.

Catalina let Renton lead her. She hated it was being mad a big deal out of it. She too the helmet from him. "He did it because I stood up to him. I knew it could happen if I did" she said and put it on. She knew there would be not fighting him on this. She got on behind him and put her arms around his waist. "I trust you Renton your my best friend" she said. It all happened so fast him and her and the nurses office and it felt like seconds where they were on the back of his bike. She was unsure about telling Colby just yet she did not want to ruin their evening she had planned. She did remember his birthday and has a scrape book for him that she put together about their relationship.
Once at Rentons she got off the bike and took off the helmet. "It could of been worse what he did. I just I don't want you or Colby hurt by him. He is dangerous.Let me tell Colby tonight please" she looked into Renton eyes. "I was planning on telling him anyway." She was saying this with full honesty. She wanted to keep her boyfriend and best guy friend safe. She suddenly wondered what Izzy and Mallory were up to. "I was thinking of having a little get together sometime in the next few weeks of all my friends. You can meet my two best girlfriends Izzy Chen and Mallory Harper."

Renton gotten onto his bike and felt Cat get on and her arms around his waiste. Renton suddenly melted, "God I miss that..!" he muttered to himself. And then started his motorbike on full power. He then took off from the parking lot, heading onto the 91 freeway heading towards Compton where his Apartment was waiting for him.
20 minutes later they arrived, he let Cat off first and then he went to unlock the garage door and opened it up, and let her in first and listend to her as he pulled in the motorbike with him. He then pulled down the garage and locked it from inside. And then turned on the lights so they can both see. He looks to Cat when she was explaining what her plans were. Renton looks to Cat as he then opened the door to apartment for her and stand aside.
Once he got her into the apartment he came in behind and closed the door and turned the switch on in the kitchen. Renton toss the keys onto the counter. He then walked over to the fridge. "You thirsty?" He asked as he rumaged through the shelves for a couple of cans of soda, Renton noticed that Travis had done some shopping for him since he was in the hospital. "Bloody Bastard!" he muttered as he pulled out the soda. "He forgot to get me my beer!" he growled and then set the cokes on the counter top. Renton then thought of giving up his apartment and move in with his friend Travis at least he has bigger space for Renton to work on his bike and car and at least he wouldn't have to deal with the shit going on outside in the city of compton he was getting tired of it.
He handed a coke to Cat and then motion her to the couch into the small living room. It was almost like old times having Cat over at his place just sitting on the couch having a can of coke.
"Listen Cat, I know that Quenten is dangerous and the possiblity is great!" he assured her that he knows the possiblities. "But as I said you can't fight him yourself. You need as many people as you can to help you!" he said. "He could snap you like a twig like that!" he snapped his fingers in front of her face making it look that simple. "The reason why I brought you here is so we can plan a way to make him sorry for ever touching and messing with you Cat!' he said and sighed.
"Also it's Valentines day, who knows what that disgusting brute has hidden up so far up his arse that I'm afraid to see what magic trick he'll perform with that, not sure if it will be just shit!" Renton muttered as he plopped down on his couch next to Cat. "I just have a bad feeling about tonight, I don't know if you and Colby should go out tonight. You two are better off rented some movies and have a night in at his or your place!" he suggested and shook his head as he then looked away and takes a gulp of his coke. The fresh crisp liquid ran down his throat sizzling down causing a bit of a tickle down his throat.
Renton sighed in relief after that first gulp and looked to Cat. "I'm scared for your safety Cat..." he said softly and then looks to her and pulled an arm around her and pulled her into him. "You mean a lot to me Cat and you mean a whole world to Colby, it's my job to keep you safe when ever Colby can't be here for you, and when he is, I have to keep an eye out for the both of you!" he said sadly. He then kissed her deeply on the forehead. "I'm a jealous man Cat, Colby is one lucky bloody bastard" he laughed a bit and smiled to Cat and let her go. "I'm happy to see you two together again!" he said honestly. Renton couldn't lie to Cat how he feels and he wanted Cat to know this. "Just so you know no matter what happens Cat, you are my angel my best lady friend and I wouldn't want it any other way!" he said. Lady friend meant A best friend who is a girl to Renton. And Renton didn't consider Cat a girl. But a mature young woman who is strong and is much of a fighter as Renton.
"So how about those tricks I promise I teach ya eh?" He groan as he pulled himself back to his feet and turn to her and offered his hand to her. "I'll even let ya take a good hit for the hell of it!" he grinned.

"I have no idea what we are even doing tonight. It is also his birthday" Catalina told Renton she smiled at him softly. "Trust me he would not do anything with Colby around. I know I am safe with him" she said honestly. "I am glad I have someone like you looking out for me" she laid her hand on his arm. "I can always call you when I get back in tonight to so you know I am okay" she told him. It was the best possible solution where everyone is happy and can rest easy. "I admit I am a big nervous for tonight its been awhile since I been out with him on a major holiday like this. I have been going through in my head today thinking what I want to wear. Would you go with me to my place in a bit to give me your opinon as a man?" she asked him.
She listened to him talk and blushed at his words. She had a inkling he had a crush but to hear him she looked up at him. She wished she could return his feelings but he always knew where he heart laid. "Who knows what would of happened if there never had been a Colby. And thank you for being my friend" she gave him a hug and a kiss on the cheek. "I promise to the best friend I can be" she said honesetly. Laughing she let him pull her to her feet. "How about later on I just feel like relaxing" she looked up at him and took a sip of her coke.

Renton blushed when he felt her kiss his cheek, he then gave her a sheepish grin. And then hugged her back. He was happy just being her friend no matter what. He then suddenly blush beet red when she offered him to come over and offer his opinons on what she should wear for tonight. Renton let out a nervous laugh. "Ah. are you sure about that?" Renton teased.
"Sure, I'll be serious and no worries I won't make you think that leather and vynle is usually the way to a man's heart!" he joked and prepared himself in case she slapped him or punch him for that comment. He just couldn't help it it was the perfect moment. "Hey is Colby into bondage and dominataring thing?" Renton asked teasenly again and guarded himself again in case she attack him again. Renton Snickered. He knew he was an Ass but he was Cat's ass.
"Okay okay I'll stop with the jokes!" he laughed and then sighed and smiled at her. "Relax? what's that?" he said sarcasticly and snickered. "Hmmm... well let's see...." he looked around in his apartment for idea of relaxing. "Well I have movies, ah... Xbox360 or the computer.... ah and Muisc!" he offered giving her options. Anything to keep her here till it was safe time to take her back to her place to get ready for her date with Colby tonight. Renton tugged at his black t-shirt and chewing the side of his cheek a bit thinking ahead in case if Quenten does show up what should go down and all.
"I think I should bring my baseball bat with me in case!" he suggested to himself. He then looks to Cat. "Hey wait here um... you are welcome to what ever you like here. I need to look through my room for a few minutes!" he said as he then ran across the hall into the bedroom.
As he entered his room he closed the door behind him. His room was dark and he reached over and turned on the light, as the light went on it revealed his tidy room. The bed was made well his clothes hunged up neatly and pressed in the closet and there were a few black and white photos of his friends and him. Devin, Renton and some others from Scotland. Then there by his closet was a bigger B&W photo of Devin sleeping. It was Renton's favorite. He walked over to the picture and stared at it for a moment and closed his eyes and sighed. And then opened his eyes and opened the closet door and look through the shelves and under neath the racks to find something but nothing. He then heard his door creaking open.

"Vinly is something you never have to worry about me wearing" Catalina laughed and smiled. "Now leather pants or skirt I would, but they are not appropriate for tonight. I want sexy classy with some sweet and sex kitten mixed in. Basically I want to look hot" she laughed and smiled. She wanted to knock Colby's socks off and make sure that he has never seen her look so beautiful before. "I guess its been so long since we had something like this I want to look better then I ever did" she said honestly.
"I am for whatever you decide" she said when he said all there was to do. She wandered around and looked at everything when he left and went to his room. She saw some new things around and smiled at the pictures. She did not want to be nosey but she was curious as to how his room looked. Blushing she looked up at him when she pushed the door open. "Sorry I was making sure you were okay and wondered what your room looked like" she said honestly. "Did you find what you were looking for?" She stepped in farther and put her arms behind her back and looked at him.
