Did that really just happen (Sarah H. tag Any)

Sarah was worried. That shooting had been beyond crazy. Sarah had his in a supply closet. All she could think about was Jade and Alex and where the hell were they. Sarah hid in the closet for what seemed like forever, until she finally slowly emerged. She looked around and when she saw cops everywhere when she came out of the closet. It took Sarah forever to find out that Jade had been shot and that Alex was okay.

Sarah was going to go visit Jade, but not until the next day. Right now his family needed to be there and quite frankly Sarah was scared. She had never known anyone to be shot, let alone a whole school. It was a lot to get over and she just could not get there. It made it all so real. Sarah texted Alex to find out how Jade was doing and to keep her updated. She told Alex she would go to the hospital tomorrow.

For some reason Sarah was not so excited about her birthday party on Wednesday anymore. She was not sure she even wanted to have it any more. it just seemed pointless given what happened. Sarah decided to visit her favorite music store. The one where her father knew the owner. No words needed to be said when Sarah walked in. She just smiled and nodded and headed right for the guitars. She picked one up and began to play. She looked at someone who was standing in front of her. "Music...good for a horrible day...."

Alex had finally managed to get out of the hospital content to know his twin was okay, if not a little sore and groggy from the surgery to remove the bullet from his shoulder, it would be a long while before his twin would be fit to swim for the team again, and he may need further surgeries but he was somewhat okay for a little while. Last time he had seen him he was sleeping soundly, all he was thankful for was that Jeremy had been with him after it had happened.

Alex stepped into the music shop having got a realiable tip of from someone that Sarah was here, he hadn't had a chance to see her since the shooting at lunch, his mind had been taken up since it had happened.

Alex stepped up beside her with a smile on his lips.

"Hey." he said softly. "I'm glad your okay." he said to her softly as he pecked her on the lips with a quick kiss. "Someone told me I could find you here, I checked at your house first." he said to her with a smile. "I'm sorry I wasn't able to stay around the school to wait for you, Jade is fine, moaning about the pain of being shot, he has had surgery to remove the bullet..." Alex said to her knowing that the family lawyer had been stingy on details to any one who had asked. "Mom and dad should touch down sometime in the night." Alex added sighing.

"Its been one hell of a day though." he said with a relaxed smile, the concern of earlier in the day had passed. "His sleeping and I am in need of getting some food before going back to the hospital." he said. "So I came to spend some time with my girlfriend." he told her.

Sarah's smiled got wider when she saw Alex. She quickly kissed him back. "Please do not apologize. Your brother needed you more then I did. I can't believe he got shot." Sarah still had a hard time accepting Jade was in the hospital. "I was planning to visit, but figured you and your family needed some time. SO I will see Jade tomorrow, but he is okay. You have no idea how happy that makes me, babe." She had been worried because she knew Jade and Alex were close and Sarah knew how this must be affecting him.

"I have no objections to you coming here and spending time with me. Let me guess. Either my sister or my dad told you where I was." Yup those two always knew. "Well I decided to take my feelings out on some inanimate objects." Sarah gave a small laugh, but it was hard to laugh after such a horrible day. "Did you know anyone else who got shot?" Jade was the only person Sarah could think of.

Sarah put down the guitar. "Care to go grab a bite?" Since he mentioned food. "The news is talking about a memorial or something tomorrow. I am not sure I want to go. I mean its good so we can mourn those who died, but it seems too sad." Sarah now hated that her birthday was on Wednesday. It sucked to come after such an event. how could she celebrate in the face of tragedy.

Alex smiled at her, "Thanks for being understanding, their is going to be talk of us being taken out of silver after this, I haven't spoken to my father yet, but I imagine that he is livid at the security used at the school." Alex said to her. "It took a lot of convincing to allow us to go to silver in the first place." he said shaking his head. "But then I think if dad thinks he will have an easy sell to get us to go back to home schooling then he is a fool." Alex said to her.

"Your dad tipped me of, my mind was a blank as to where you might have been." Alex told her with a smile. "Dinner sounds great by the way, I don't think I have eaten since breakfast, its been a mad house." Alex said he had been in one hell of a fight to go with his brother to the hospital, in the end he had had to stay behind but it had been a very quick interview thanks to his lawyers help.

"I've parked not to far away, we can go hunting for a restaurant, or barring that I saw a McDonalds near by, tonight I'm not fussed, if it looks like and tastes like food I'll eat it right now." Alex said to her with a grin.

"I hope your dad won't pull you out. Without you and Jade the place will be boring as hell." She told Alex. Sarah looped her arm though his and held him close. Sarah never thought she would have fallen for a guy like Alex. She was use to guys with a more edgy look, but Alex was great and there was something so damn attractive about him. Sarah walked to the ext of the store with him. "Well my dad would know. He introduced me to this place. He said he bought his first guitar here."

Sarah opened the door for Alex. "I am really am glad Jade will be okay. I know how much he means to you." Perhaps it was because they have that whole twin thing going on. Sarah did not know what it was like to be twin, but still. "I just started coming here to clear my head, but if you even need to find me then you are smart to ask my dad." Sarah told Alex.

"McDonald's. I never thought I would heard those words coming out of your mouth. I think we can do better then greasy burgers and fries. I have to watch my figure after all." She said with a small laugh to show she was only kidding. She just wanted to see Alex smile despite what was going on. "Come on lets go find a place. I can't have you getting skinnier then me." She said trying to kid around again. It might not feel right, but Alex needed to have his mind taken out of this madness for a while.

Alex smiled at Sarah, "He is my twin, when you share just about everything with someone for your entire life, it isn't easy to think about life without them in it... but its not a worry, his fine cracking jokes and last time I checked making doe eyes with Jeremy." Alex said with a chuckle. "When he told me he was bisexual it was the end of the world, I mean seriously it was like well what about me." Alex said to her as they stood talking. "I think that was probably the only time we ever argued like most brothers and sisters usually do." Alex added.

"Assuming how we argue with our sister, is normal for the rest of the world anyway." Alex pointed out.

"Well in desperate times, we must result to desperate measures, thus the suggestion of MacDonalds... their is a new Chinese near where I am if you fancy it, or Italian, I'm not to keen on spicy tonight, just food that tastes of something that isn't cardboard." Alex said as he lead the way out of the stoor down towards where the car was parked. "I took a look at the stuff they had on offer at the hospital, while they had Jade in theatre, and well I wouldn't serve it to the family dog." Alex pointed out. "Their fisherman's pie, looked like it had been brought back up... god knows how people eat it for any extended period of time." Alex said.

Sarah laughed a small laugh when Alex talked about jade cracking jokes, "Now that defiantly sounds like the Jade I know. The doe eyed part included. Glad Jeremy was okay. I can't begin to imagine what would have happened had they both been hurt. I wonder who else was hurt. I heard it was quite a few." there were rumors going around of who had been hurt and Sarah had heard a few names tossed around, but no one knew for sure who it really was.

"Most siblings fight like you fight with your sister....nice to know you are normal and not some perfect robot." She said with a smile. "At least you accepted your brother and his sexuality. It seems to have brought you two closer." Sarah always admired their close relationship. Sure Sarah was close with her sister, but not close enough to share deep dark secrets.

"Chinese sounds perfect. I just can't go for fast food. I guess thats because when my dad would take me touring with him thats all we would have. We lived off the stuff, so Chinese is perfect." She said and gave Alex a kiss on the cheek. He really was a great boyfriend. She was lucky.

Alex looked over at her as he started the car up, "You know the best thing about this car, the air conditioning, damn its hot out there today." Alex said to her with a smile. "Chinese it is... technically we don't eat it, but then again when its a night for convenience rather than a well prepare meal, we sometimes order pizza from Greg Meyers place." Alex said to her as he slipped the car out into the evening traffic.

"What ever you do, do not go into the glove compartment, their is something in it you shouldn't see for a couple of days, when its your actual birthday." Alex said to her. "I brought it last week but each time I leave the car, I keep forgetting to get it out of the compartment." Alex said to her. "Blond I am not, but ditzy and forgetful I can be." Alex told her. "I kept to our rules for gifts, I didn't go OTT, my sister actually had to help me with that, I nearly did." Alex sad conversationally.

He watched her out of the corner of his eye, he was aware of how stressful today had been, he had a bottle of JD in doors with his name on it if he had the chance to get at it, after his parents got back to the house...

He plugged his phone into the dash as they pulled up to the lights and used speed dial to call the house, "Michael speaking Edwards' residence." one of the cooks answered.

"Mike do you know the new Chinese restaurant near the house?"he asked.

"Yes I do Alex what do you need me to do." he asked.

"I need you to come get my dads car keys then get the car back to the house before my parents get home." Alex said into the phone. "We are about five mins out." he said.

"Sure thing Alex." Michael replied before Alex ended the call.

"Their will be hell to pay for Jade if my father finds out he took the Land rover out while they were away, with or without being shot their would be an argument." Alex said to her.
