A Serious Intervention (Tag Jere, Any)

Jade had heard the alarms they were loud enough for him to pick up on clearly, he knew that the best place for him to be is the cafeteria, he didn't think that it would be wise for him to try and get out of the school unnoticed, that and he also knew that Jeremy was probably still in the school.

There was no way he would leave the school until he knew that his boyfriend was safe, probably not the wiset move in the world or so he thought as he walked calmly down the hall, he never raced anywhere, he knew that the panick in the other students could lead to him getting hurt or someone else for that matter. As he entered the cafeteria he heard shouting not that far behind him and quickened his pace to get to a seat before someone decided he was a prime target.

He had reached a table when he felt an explosion of pain shoot through his shoulder, the scream that emitted from his lips as he was spun on the spot by the force of what ever he had been hit with.

He felt himself hit the deck so to speak wondering what the hell had hit him.

"JULIA!!" Jeremy shouted above the screams and tears of the student body flooding the halls. He hadn't seen or heard from her since the shootings started and the idea of losing his sister was something he didn't want to think about.

More shots rang out, which sent him down to the ground crawling about trying to get to the cafeteria where a lot of the student population had been.

As he weaved through the crowd, he tried sending a text again to Julia, she still hadn't answered him, he was beyond panicked now. 'God please let her be fine!' he prayed quietly as he found a body on the floor and got next to it, not knowing who it was.

He wiped the tears from his eyes when it occurred to him that he hadn't heard from Jade. If anything had happened to him as well, Jeremy didn't know what he would do.

He sat there quietly, his eyes stinging heavily as he pondered the fates of those who were close to him. As he sighed he looked over to his left and recongized the form on the floor...it was Jade!! Jeremy got down close to Jade, "Hey Jade, its Jere!" He was now a little relieved. Now to figure out about Julia.

Jade heard a familiar voice above him opening his eyes he tried to smile at Jeremy which turned into a grimmace of pain as he shifted on the cold floor of the cafeteria, "You know I said I wanted to see a doctor today, well I think this is going way to far." Jade said trying to make a joke of it all but as soon as he let out a chuckle he was wracked with pain from his shoulder. "I recommend against getting shot." Jade said to his boyfriend as his uninjured arm tried to find his boyfriends hand.

"Your okay?" Jade asked as he tried to sit up and decided against it when he felt dizzy. "No thats not going to happen any time soon." Jade said. "Have you spoken to Julia?" he asked Jeremy, his mind was trying not to think about Alex because that would bring up the idea that he might still be in the school. "I haven't seen Alex all day." Jade said nervously he was hurting like hell and the fact that he was still functioning and able to talk to anyone without grimmacing was amazing to him.

"Who the hell did this and why?" Jade muttered.

The lump in Jeremy's throat felt like it was the size of a softball. He was with the boy he had fallen for and now who knows if they had time left. He gripped Jade's hand. "Don't try to talk, just save your energy, 'k?"

"I'm fine, just scared shitless is all." He could have clobbered Jade for trying to move but his voice went to light raspy. "I...I haven't." The tears started to flow again, there was no hiding them this time around.

No Julia, no Alex, Jade had to know how Jeremy was feeling, the whole not knowing if someone was still alive, or injured or even worse. There was more blood coming from Jade's wound.

Jeremy ripped part of his shirt and tried to place it against the wound. There was a murmur of voices around them, they sounded like authority figures.

"I don't know babe, I really don't know." He kissed Jade's hand. "Sounds like help may be here, I'm going to peek." He kept his hold on Jade's hand.

He peeked over the table and saw a bunch of men in blue. "Hey over here, there's an injury here!" he yelled at them.

A couple officers came over.

"What happened here?" One asked.

"Jade was hit in the shoulder, I missed getting hit." Jeremy choked back the tears.

"You guys will be fine." The other said before speaking into his radio signaling for help.

"I'm staying right with you." Jeremy tried to comfort Jade.

Jade smiled at the police officers above him, "Pain killers at this point would be a very welcome addition." Jade said to them they chuckled and said paramedic's were on their way to the cafeteria as they spoked. "Can you please text Alex." Jade said to Jeremy. "I need to know his okay." Jade added. "My phone is in my left pocket." Jade said closing his eyes for a second.

"Son do you know where your parents are?" the man asked.

"Currently I imagine somewhere between here and Ireland." Jade said to the man.

"Do you have an appropriate adult that we can contact?" the officer asked as paramedic's asked.

"You need to contact the family lawyer, he can act on my parents behalf should anything happen, ie like this." Jade said to him.

"How are you feeling?" asked the paramedic.

"Like someone who has been shot, is in a lot of pain and has idiots asking him stupid questions like how am I feeling." Jade snarled at the woman.

"Are you allergic to any medication?" the woman asked.

"No." Jade said to her.

"Did you lose consciousness?" the other guy asked.

"I'm not sure." Jade replied. "Probably." he added as an after thought.

"You need to go to the hospital, your talking which is a good sign." the woman said to him. "Have you tried to sit up?" she asked.

"I felt like the world was upside the last time I tried." Jade said to her.

"Okay well we are going to help you sit up so we can see your back." the paramedic said to him Jade nodded his hand tightly gripping Jeremy's as he sat up with help. "Well the bullet is still in there, I'm afraid you ruined the front of your shirt though." the woman said.

"I'll buy another one." Jade muttered as he spotted his twin fast approaching he breathed a sigh of relieve.

"You have all the luck you know that right." Alex said as he approached. "I haven't seen your sister Jeremy." Alex said to him. "I'm sure she'll be fine though." he added.
