He wasn't taken aback at all.... Brittany had to be the first girl in the history of high school to not be swept off her feet by him...she would have thought it would annoy him, but he only kept flirting. It made her want to just scream! She'd never planned a conversation with Tyler but if she had thought through what it would be like...him continually flirting with her was not how it would go at all.
Her hair wasn't hard to notice, she told herself over and over again in her head. If he'd noticed it, it was because it was bright, not because he liked her. He didn't like her...couldn't like her... Brittany kept telling herself these things but the more he talked...the more she started to believe him, which kind of made her sick to her stomach... This couldn't be really. If Aly hadn't put him up to this...someone had. Someone had to be playing a trick on her!
She didn't really say anything. She was sort of speechless, which she really really hated. She just wanted to tell him off, but he was too good...he seemed to have a response for everything, which was so unfair considering Brit had nothing.
She couldn't really tell because she wasn't standing in front of a mirror, but her eyes widened as he continued to speak and it was clear by the look on her face that she was totally freaked out by his words. He'd won...well, this round at least, although she didn't really know it yet. As he went on about her dressed as a cheerleader, she shook her head. "I don't believe a word you're saying," she said, with conviction in her voice, that would have been believable if it hadn't been for the look on her face.
With that, she pushed passed him and started to walk away, really really hoping that he didn't try and follow her. Her head was spinning trying to figure out whether that had been real or not. She really really, hoped that it wasn't, she couldn't help but think as she continued down the hall towards her first class.
