Julia beamed at Ashley, "Thanks!" She pocketed the directions, "We will make sure you get cookies." She promised, "Would be inhumane to let you go without." Just because he had an ill child at home didn't mean he should be deprived of sweets on a holiday. She half-way wished she could ask someone to babysit so that he could come, but she knew that he would prefer to be with his son. Maybe when Kai was feeling better they could arrange something so he could come play sometimes.
The brunette laughed at Travis. "Hey, some girls dig jars of formaldehyde. Embalmed pig embryos are hot!" She teased. "No hiding in bomb shelters, what you need is a lab. With a giant tesla coil and some big electrical switches and stuff. Alternately, you can come hang out with us." She offered, "Cause we are clearly the cool kids."
Really how had she suddenly acquired the ability to talk to people and make friends? She had always been a bit shy, but suddenly she had found herself lifted out of her books and music into the real world to find that people were not, in fact, terrifying and that some of them were actually really cool. She blamed Connor, ever since she had started hanging out with him she had blossomed more and more. She didn't even rely solely on Jeremy for her social activities! It was amazing! Although part of that might have to do with Jere's mysterious behavior. Or maybe she only thought he was behaving mysteriously since she wasn't spending as much time with him?
"I'm Julia," She accepted the shake, but removed her hand rather quickly. "Travis...She repeated, squinting at him as though that would bring to mind where she had heard his name before. The fact that he had groupies only deepened her suspicion that she ought to know who he was; but perhaps they were just fascinated by the presence of a college man.
She scooted over to allow Wynn room, "Uh huh," She folded her arms across her chest. "When I said violence was the answer I was thinking more virtual violence," She tried to make light of the fiasco, "Or maybe pencil violence. Like, drawing a fight instead of starting one, not trying to poke Cam to death with a pencil,." She resisted the urge to add that a drawn fight would be more effective. "Less chance you'll get in trouble that way." That was not entirely true, teachers tended to frown upon violent artwork almost as much as real violence. It might make him feel better to draw Cam as a villain, though. On the other hand he might draw Haley as the beautiful heroine, but as long as she didn't have to see it that was okay. Maybe.

Ashley grinned at her, "Cookies, you know there is only one thing better than cookies. That is Ben and Jerry's cookie dough ice cream I think its called, delicious, just a shame with all the training I don't get to eat a lot of it... but then again I steal mouthfuls of Kai's when I get the chance, then get slapped across the back of the head by mom, for nicking ice cream of his plate." Ashley said to her. "Between me and you its a guilty a pleasure, I think she expects me to do it." he added.
"Violence, resident evil kicks but for violence or doom, but physical violence in the real world usually leads to the police, and if your looking to get into a good college will work against you in the end." Ashley said to Wynn.
Ashley's eyes turned to Travis who he smiled at, "You agreed to come here, you must be mad, I'll probably be seeing some of you if I had to guess." Ashley said to the man in question. "I get a lot of help from tutors here, mainly so I can keep up with my school work when I can't get into school." Ashley said to him with a grin. "Take today for instance when this lot of raggabonds go back to class I will be going home to deal with a sick toddler." Ashley said he knew Julia knew, and if any of them turned up at the house that night they would get a shock if they didn't know about it.

Travis looked to Ashley, and then thought about his comment. "Well... I didn't have much of a choice!" he said as he choses his words wisely. All he wanted to do was finish up medical school and become a doctor, but NO Renton gotten him into some trouble and cause his dad Mr. Marshall to send Travis on a mission to keep an eye on Renton. Travis sighed at the thgouth. "I don't mind it, as longest I am able to finish up medical school!" he said.
Travis tilted his head when Ashley mention a sick toddler. He arched a brow at him. "Ah what is wrong with the little lad?" he asked as he put his hand to his chin as he was thinking. "What are the symptons?" he asked suddenly going from Travis to Dr. Mcfaddin mode. Travis couldn't help it, he was in love with the idea of being in the medical world. He wants to help the lives of the sick and the dying and have the knowleged to heal.
"Have ya taken the little one to the doctors yet?" he asked. "If you haven't let me know I maybe able to be of assisant, I am already allowed to do check ups and diagonsis and pretty much approve perscriptions!" he offered now taking his hand from his chin. He then reached in the back of his pocket of his pants and pulled out his leather wallet and looked through one of the credit card holders for a copy of his contact card. Once he was able to have a hold of it and then hands it to Ashley. "Here you can reach me at my office or my cell, I usually work over at the Hospital" he said and nodded and then looks to Julia and gave her a crooked grin. "It's a pleasure meeting you Julia." he said sincerely. He was very happy that Julia didn't know who he was or reconized him.
"I like your ideas on that I should create a lab, maybe you can be my lovely assisant!" he softly laughed making a joke. "Ah why thank you, I just might accept your Invitation!" he said polietly with a smile. Travis felt his stomach rumbled. He rolled his eyes and then ramaged through his paper bag for something to tie him over and he was able to grab the red apple from the bottom and pulled it out. He looked at it and nodded in approval, he then took a deep bite into the reddness of the apple, the crisp juicy crunch now soon filled his mouth and he chewed it very slow and easy and swollowed it. Travis smiled he felt a bit better.
"Well since I am here, and I don't have much to do, anyone need any help on their school work?" He asked being himself now offering his new friends? help if they need it.

“Oh, cool for sure.” Connor enthusiastically agreed with Julia on her declaration to Travis that they were the cool kids. “Though, I’m Gould, so usually not here, and that makes the rest of the group not as cool in comparison. But still, coolest group in school.” he laughed lightly, teasing Julia. He knew his friend wasn’t exactly considered ‘cool’, but then neither was he, and he wouldn’t have it any other way. The popular ones seemed boring to him anyway.
Tempted to glare at Wynn, seeing how Julia was trying to be nice, he decided he may as well do the same and smiled softly at him. Though, he would keep a close eye on him, for his friend’s sake. “Pencil violence, now, that could be fun.” he laughed. “Though, I’m tempted to try to start on WOW, beat things up on that. A reliable source has informed me that it’s fun.”
A little surprised to hear that Ashley had a kid, Connor didn’t show it, instead smiling broadly at him. “Now, that is the best flavour. I’ll have to get some for tonight then, or I’ll be craving it.” he laughed brightly. Before he could say anything else though, the familiar little beep alerted him of a message and he checked his phone. “It’s Izzy. She said she’s in, with Ben and Eden. Should be fun, a big group of us.” he grinned broadly at Julia. “If you want, I’ll come earlier, help set up. Make some cookies!”
At the offer of help with school work from Travis, he shook his head slightly. He usually did alright, no tutors needed, and he figured that was there to help Silver students anyway. “No, I’m right, thanks anyway. There’s a heap of girls who I’m sure wouldn’t say no.” he laughed.

Travis looked back at the group a girls that Conner pointed out. Travis then looked away and shudder. "No thank you, I rather hang myself off a cliff by my toes than be with those bratty twits!" he said as he sighed and took another bite of his apple.
He then swallowed that bite and looked over at Wynn who seems to be having a bad day. "I couldn't help over hearing but are you having some kind of issues with a certain girl in your life?" he asked. Wondering if he could be some help. Then the conversation going on about how volience isn't the answer and Travis knew away how to have some revenge on people with out using such volience.
"There is no need to have any kind of volience. If you want to get back at some one, is by killing them with kindness!" he said.
Travis took another bite and then looks back to Conner when he said he was from Gould and also he didn't need any of Travis's help. He nodded to Conner. And then goes back to eating the rest of his apple.

How did that saying go, "two's company, three's a crowd, four's too many and five's not allowed"? However it went Wynn seemed to fit into the last bracket. He felt like he was sticking out like a sore thumb. Thankfully Julia made him feel comfortable and even had made room for him.
He listened quietly to those around him, the blond teen had a kid, how he was able to balance school and family and anything outside of them he had no clue. It had to be a handful!
Connor was another WOW person, which deflated him somewhat. He knew nothing about games like those, he was more of the old school games like 'Yoshi's Cookies' and 'Hatris'. Still there was no need to jump to conclusions.
And finally a college guy, eating in the cafeteria. There was something about him that made Wynn think it was best not to be on this guys' bad side. His eyes had said 'I'm a good person' but there was that switch that could easily be turned.
"Everthing makes perfect sense but then so does 'A friend helps you move, a good friend helps you move the bodies' or 'You can get more done with a two by four and a kind word than you can with just a kind word.' Sure he wouldn't go and try off Cam but the thought was a delight.
"Pencil fighting?" Wynn questioned at first, until the explanation came out. "Oh yeah something like this?" He reached into his bag and took out his pad and showed the group his drawing.
"Don't laugh but I drew this from a dream I had where I was a brave knight and Cameron was an evil wizard." There was a small dejection to his voice. "The knight is always supposed to win, or so I thought."

"Yeah...right then," Cam said when Wynn told him he wished he'd get flat tires and all that... So Wynn wasn't going to be mature about it. Perhaps Cam shouldn't expect him to be. After all...Cam had gone off and cried in a corner when he'd thought Haley was with Wynn. He sighed as he watched Wynn walk off to join the rest of the group, leaving him standing all alone by the empty table. He supposed that's what he was now...alone. He had Haley sure, but he didn't really have any friends. He could only hope that eventually Haley's friends would like him. Maybe he could get her to help him fit in a little better so they would.
Cam wasn't completely opposed to a secret relationship because he figured at least he'd have Haley, but he didn't exactly want one either. He much preferred to be open about it and they had walked int he hall together and he had kissed her front of her classroom...but if her friends didn't like him...well he was as good as gone. Or at least he thought he was.
He scanned the cafeteria for Haley, letting his eyes linger on the tables where the popular kids often sat. No luck...they all seemed pretty spread out anyway and Cam didn't see his beautiful blonde girlfriend. Glancing at the empty table next to him, Cam shrugged and sat down at it. Empty tables were hard to come by anyway.

Ashley smiled at Travis, "His tonsils are playing up." Ashley said to him. "My mom has got to go into the office, so I get to go home and sit with him the rest of the afternoon, I didn't really want to come today anyway, its the last thing you want to do when your son is home ill." Ashley said with a smile. "The lessons do little to distract me from that little fact." Ashley said to them.
Ashley shot Wynn a look when he made a comment about the other boys car, "You know I can forgive you slating him for running away with your girlfriend, but please leave the car alone, the car hasn't done anything to you has it." Ashley asked mock seriously.
Ashley listened to them as they spoke he smiled at the boys then looked at the drawing, he just managed to smother the need to laugh, a cheeky smile rose to his lips though.
"This is why normal Jocks never take geeks and nerds seriously, no offence meant to any one at this gathering, I have nothing against a good nerdy thing, science fiction in the right context great. I love watching lost, I got hooked on it, that and Fringe, so I'm not the normal jock anyway." Ashley said to them, he had been having some issues with his coach since joining the team who seemed to think that football came before any and all family commitments.

"Gee, I dunno, ice cream, that's pushing it," Julia warned Ashley with a grin, Give a mouse...I mean, a dad, a cookie, and then he wants ice cream! You're lucky we offered you anything, might have to revoke that privilege if you keep pushing." She laughed, unable to take her own threats seriously, "Have a quest to stop by the store for cookie baking ingredients, if I find any cookie dough ice cream I guess I can pick some up. For both of you," She poked Connor, "Umm, yeah, if you want to help set up, that would be awesome. Unless you have to lead your friends over. They can get there okay, right?"
She grinned at his comments on WoW, "Yes, you should so play. Oh, no, even better, I stocked up on trial versions of Lord of the Rings Online, you gotta try it with me, it's more fun to play with other people. If you play. I might even switch, I know, I am not being loyal at all. But it is Lord of the Rings! How can anyone say no to that?"
She turned pink when Travis suggested she be his assistant. "Cool, does that mean I'm on grave-robbing duty? I needed an excuse to work on my zombie fighting skills. Don't worry, Dr. McFadden, I won't tell anyone what you do with your experi...I mean, patients." She teased, then added in a stage whisper, "So don't tell my victim....I mean, guests...what I put in my cookies, either, okay? I think I've come up with a concoction that will swap people's personalities, but I have to get people to take it to be sure. Just remember, it's a secret. Shhhhh." She put a finger to her lips and eyed him seriously, waiting for his promise.
She looked over his drawing. It was good, but then Wynn had always been a talented artist. She wished she could draw, she would love to capture her fantasy worlds in pencil. She tried not to laugh at his assertion that the knights always won the day, though. "So when was the last time you read Le Morte D'Arthur?" She questioned, "Knights are always dying, being held hostage, being enchanted by evil sorceresses...I mean, it ends with Arthur being killed by his son. Or, mortally wounded, since he's supposed to go off to Avalon. But that does not sound like winning, exactly." And even Merlin was defeated by a pretty girl. In fact, there were a notable number of manipulative sorceresses and female spirits in Arthurian legend. Even some of the normal maidens toyed with the hearts of the knights and lead them astray or deliberately lead them to defeat.
"What? People don't take me seriously? That's...." She paused, as if thinking, "Exactly how I like it. Serious is so last five minutes."
Her phone began to ring, and she jumped. "Agh, who would call me during school!" She complained, digging through her bag and wishing she was a little more organized. Why was it that whenever someone called it was as if her phone were invisible. "A-ha!" She sang out triumphantly, only to deflate when it stopped ringing. "Drats. So typical," She griped, but whoever had called left a voice mail, because her phone chimed an alert at her. She listened for a moment, and then drew her brows down in concern. "O...kay. Looks like Jere won't be joining us after all." Wow, plans? He had plans?! Since when?!! She was definitely going to get to the bottom of this. She hoped he was not involved in anything serious, like drugs. Maybe he was just trying to plan a surprise or had met a girl. He was always talking about how attractive and wonderful he was, but he never actually acted intereste in anyone. But she didn't know why he wouldn't tell her, if that were the case.

"But she wasn't causing it, alothough it gives good explanation to everything, it's like the hag from 'The Magic Sword' sent on ahead to foil George from slaying the dragon." It was a little obscure movie that he knew of, cheezy effects but then it was Bert I. Gordon who used what he could and where.
He enjoyed showing off his artwork like he was, it seemed even nicer when Julia had really noticed this one. He'd make changes later, Haley becomes the old hag, and Julia the enchantress who is on his side. Drawing Haley with warts would be a welcomed treat for the time being. He tucked the pad back into his bag, feeling better now that things had turned around for the most part.
To make the day more complete, he'd wrap up the 7 of 9 figure when he got home and take to Julia, after all she did pay for it and deserved it. He'd also wanted a card for her, not some store bought thing, he'd draw one up and color it after school and before heading over to her house. She would be surprised by the gift. It was then the bell rang. He started to get up, "I'll see who all is over for cookies later tonight."
He felt a light spring in his step.
