It was lunch, on a Monday, and it just so happened to be Tyler Durnham’s very favourite time and his very favourite day, which was why he was rushing through the hallways of school, glasses sliding down his nose, struggling to see over the pile of books in his arms. Though class beforehand, Calculus, and the class after lunch, Biology, were his favourites, helping build up to being his favourite day, Monday lunch only meant one thing. LARP. There wasn’t anything better than that, he and his group of friends, playing out their fantasies in a classroom the teachers were kind enough to let him use.
He was currently the great Sorcerer Alziotti, who was helping the warrior Raul and the thief Slytar on their quest to rescue Princess Illyria of Perigon from the evil warlord Bazhut. Well, he would be helping, when he reached the room.
His mind distracted on that, and thoughts of chess after school, and after school tutoring the rest of the week, Tyler didn’t notice when someone stepped into his path. And, accordingly, he ran straight into the person, sending the two of them, and all his books flying.
It was only when he struggled back to his feet, looking around at the papers lining the floor, when he realised that the someone he ran into, wasn’t a someone at all. It was her, the most gorgeous girl he ever laid eyes on, who also happened to be a cheerleader and someone who couldn’t have cared less about him. Magdalena Veloz.
“Maggysosorrydidn’tseeyouthere.” he rushed, awkwardly offering the divine goddess his hand. Which she looked at with such great disdain, he half expected his hand to catch on fire. She stood up on her own, glaring at him. “It’s Magdalena to you.” she smirked, in the beautiful voice of an angel. “Actually, no, I don’t want you ever saying my name. Watch where you’re going in the future.”
“Yeah, watch it.” Came an amused voice from behind Tyler, and before he could react, he felt a strong pair of hands push him back down to the ground. Looking up where he laid, he watch as Phillip Lim And Bartholomew Fischer stepped over him, laughing as Mew managed to get a kick in his side. Biting down on his lip to stop from reacting, Tyler watched as Phillip moved an arm around Maggy’s shoulders, all threw laughing at the downed nerd as they walked off. Tyler wondered if he would ever been cool enough to get Maggy to be interested in him.
And then the easily very cool Tyler woke up, fumbling for the water and headache tablets he left beside his bed in a moment of forethought before he had collapsed into bed that previous night. Drinking often gave him weird dreams, but that was something else entirely.
