They were after him!
Judd ran through the woods, the branches slapping and clawing at his face and body.
"You can run boy, but you can't hide!" Quenten yelled into the night. Jay was behind him, grinning like The Joker. Quenten motioned for Jay to go one way and he'd go the other and team up on their former friend. They took off like rockets.
Judd was gasping for breath, trying to piece together what happened. He found a decent sized branch and readied it like a weapon if he had to.
Jay was the first to arrive. "Gotcha Judd!!" He laughed manically. Judd went to swing the branch when Quenten tackled him from behind.
The boys took turns beating the crap out of him. Quenten stood over him, "Thats enough Jay, let it soak in what happened." The two walked away chortling among themselves.
Judd laid there silently sobbing, when he felt a soft touch on his shoulders. He opened a wet stinging eye to see a beautiful red headed girl next to him. "You poor boy, it looks like they did a number on you. Let me take you home." She said gently.
"But...but I don't know who you are." He cried through the pain.
"That doesn't matter right now, we just need to clean you up." She took him inside her home.
"Charles, could you take care of this young man while I talk to my mother?"
"Certainly Miss Melodee." A dark haired man with a slight southern drawl spoke and took Judd to a small room. "Do not worry young man, we'll fix those cuts of yours and have you in tip top shape."
Judd looked at him with wary eyes. "I don't need no help." He muttered.
"Ahhh Miss Melodee thinks you do, she doesn't bring just anyone home." He took out the first aid kit. "Now you sit here quietly."
Judd complied and let the man do his work. Once he was finished he led him to another room. "Feel free to put on anything you see in Master Kirt's closest, we'll launder your other clothes." Judd browsed the closet and took out a few things and hid behind a dressing curtain.
He dressed and handed his things to Charles. "Now what?" Judd asked, sort of feeling lost. "Follow me sir."
Judd was surprised being called sir but followed along to a dining room where a small feast awaited him.
"This is all for me?" Judd asked eyes wide with disbelief. He sat down at the table.
"I hope you didn't mind." Melodee smiled at him.
"You..." He looked her over. "You helped me."
"Thats right, I think there is some good deep inside you, just needing a push along."
Judd was speechless. "But why?"
"Judd, I like you, I mean really like you." She sat down next to him and laced her fingers with his and looked into his eyes. "I'm talking really like you." She kissed him on the lips.
Judd nearly fell out of his chair. "I didn't know you felt that way." He looked back in her eyes and kissed her when something started to give an annoying buzz.
Judd slowly opened his eyes to darkness. He blinked a few times, and found he was kissing his pillow. Everything had been a dream. He sighed, "Melodee..."
