The evening was starting to heat up. Takumi had been about to lead the group around the back of the building to where he'd wedged the window open earlier when even more people arrived. The more most definitely the merrier! First Ezzie and then Izzy (he was so going to struggle with those two names as the evening wore on!) but also two people he hadn't met before. Roxy - who, according to otousan, was the awesomest - a phrase he didn't recognise or understand - and then Fallon, Thad's other sister. He replied to the words of greeting and threw Izzy a broad grin.
"I thought your feet had grown cold, Izzy-chan," he whispered. "It is good to see you again also, Ezzie," he added to the other girl he knew.
Candles lit and held high, Takumi led them towards the window, rummaging inside its frame for the folded square of bright green paper. He pulled it free and then eased the small window inwards. "Hold this, otousan," he said, shoving the andlw towards Thad who was almost sitting on Taki's shoulder in his excitement to get inside.
Seconds later the Japanese youth had vanished head first through the opening. A muffled grunt could be heard before he pulled his nose away from the concrete floor. Takumi brushed himself down before peering back outside. "Who's next?" A stupid question as Thad was already trying his best to follow, a candle in each hand.
Takumi reached out and grabbed them both. He set them aside on a small cabinet and then returned to hold back the window...

They had a sizeable crowd after Izzy and Fallon joined them Returning Roxy’s exuberant hug with an awkward pat to her back, Sidra twitched the folds of her frock coat back into the place of her liking. It was cold out, after all, and she wanted little reason to shiver. It didn’t do for someone with her ambitions in life to shiver. The undead, after all, couldn’t get cold.
“Candles it is then,” said she even as her brother was digging in the back of her car and returned with the wax prizes in his hands. Now if only she’d had the presence of mind to grab a lighter. Passing the requested candle to Izzy, Sidra grinned at the girl. “Welcome to the hunt, Iz.” There wasn’t malice behind the words, but there was a touch of… surprise? Sidra was impressed that the other girl had shown up. It didn’t seem to be in her nature, at least not what she would think of as Izzy’s nature. Yet there she was.
The look on Si’s younger sister’s face however, and her tone… “Wicked step-monster?” she whispered into Fallon’s ear. “Never mind her, if we find any ghosts, we’ll request that they haunt her. Just imagine it!”
Waggling her eyebrows at the younger of the female Cottons Sidra flashed a toothy, and threatening, grin. When she turned around again, however, the Japanese boy was already inside the lighthouse and her brother was hanging half in and half out, like some fish dangling from the line.
“Stars,” Sidra swore and moved to shove her brother’s legs before positioning herself to help the others through the window.

More and more people arrived. This surprised Roxy. She'd really just expected it to be a few people just Thad, Sidra, and Ezzie. Then the two boys had shown up and then that Izzy girl, who looked a little out of place. Roxy did appreciate her admitting she hadn't known what to wear though. Roxy had actually thought about it herself, but then had opted for what she wanted to wear over perhaps what she should wear on a ghost hunt.
When Fallon showed up, Roxy could see she was upset. She didn't want to upset her further by asking her what was wrong--after all, who really wanted to explain something like that to a huge group, probably whom she didn't know very well. Well, Roxy didn't know most of them well, so she assumed that Fallon didn't either. "Hey," she said, simply with a smile. "Glad you made it."
Roxy took her candle with a smile, glad the others had agreed that candles were better than flashlights. She watched as they started making their way through the window. She was both excited and surprisingly a little scared. Roxy still was skeptical that they'd find any ghosts but who could possible tell what was inside the old lighthouse. However, while she didn't want to be the first person, leading the group...she didn't want to be at the tail end either.
"Me next," she said, stepping forward after Thad had gone through, figuring he wouldn't mind if she hid behind him in a pinch. She smiling at Sidra who was standing by the window, making sure everyone got in alright, before ducking in the window and heading inside.

Takumi helped Thad inside the window and threw the younger boy a bright grin. "This is exciting, isn't it, little brother?" he whispered. Thad didn't have the chance to reply as another pair of arms had started to make their way inside the lighthouse. He eased Thad back a bit before stepping forwards to help.
"Grab on!" he urged and the hands gripped his. He pulled... and the girl - Roxy - slipped through the opening. Roxy, the awesomest... Taki wasn't sure if that title would be better capitalised as it sounded as if it should be. He shot her a smile. "I don't think I properly said hello before," he said in a hushed voice. "I am very honoured that you joined my party, Roxy-chan." He tipped his head forwards in a slightly formal bow but that was a commonplace action where he originated from. "I am very pleased to see so many people here. I had thought I would be hunting for ghosts alone but am relieved that isn't the case. There's little excitement to be found in an adventure on your own."
He peered through the window. "Who is next? I can already hear the ghosts becoming restless!" Ok, so he was olying his ass off but it only could add to the already heightened atmosphere.
Moments later the entire group was inside and Takumi grabnbed a flashlight,l preferring that to an unguarded flame. "This way," he whispered before moving onwards and upwards... What awaited them? WHO awaited them... They'd soon find out...

Victor put Cuddles back in his cage and ran him back to the car where he had a battery operated heating pad so the cold air wouldn't harm the furry arachnid. Once things were settled there, he rejoined the group.
He let the smaller ones go on ahead. "Ok I'm next." He jumped and pulled himself through the window. "Just like Spider-Man!" He smirked as he brushed himself off.
"Shhhhh have to keep the noise down, loud noises keep the spirits away." Even though the talking wasn't too noisy but once the group was together there would be no telling how much the noise would increase.
Once everyone had entered. "Ok everyone stay together we don't need disembodied heads rolling down the stairs at us." As he started up the stairs. "We really want to see ghosts, we need to go to the accident sight. This way." He felt a rush of goosebumps over his arms. He really didn't know if the whole woman falling from the lighthouse was an urban legend or not.
"If we're lucky the woman might show herself." He whispered, keeping the moment tense. "Let me see if I can call her." The light from the candles gave the old lighthouse an eerie glow. "Vi, can you hear me?" he whispered into the inky black void.

Fal smiled at Sid, "Can we please...the stupid Harlot grounded me for not telling her where you and Thad went off too and she took my books again to punish me. SO i figured might as well add to the punishment and kick my self out for the night." Fal whispered back to Sid. She smiled when Roxy said hello, "Hey long time no talk." She said to her friend. "OH me next."
Fal slipped through the window easily. She was sometimes too skinny for her own good. She brushed herself off and looked around. She walked a few steps ahead to get out of the way, "Hey you guys think any of us will get possessed." Usually that was Sid's thing. Although Sid was more into vampires, but still. "I think it would be cool if someone got possessed. Just imagine. Which one of us do you think it would be?" Fal smiled. It was almost like a fantasy. And she loved fantasy.
Fal eyed Taki and Vic and Izzy. The three members she did not know. She was still whispering, "Hi I am Fallon. Nice to meet you." She said kind of bouncy. She was smiling now and happy. Imagine that. From pissed to happy in seconds. Nothing new there. "Okay this might be a dumb question, but would someone min telling the story of what exactly happened here?" Fal said as she followed closely behind Vic.

"I almost did back out. This is not something I normally do, but how could I resist Taki. After all I owe you. You did ride the Ferris wheel with me." She smiled and lightly bumped Taki with her arm. She smiled and walked with everyone else to the lighthouse. She waited and decided she would go after Fal. She did not want to go in first or last. This whole thing was scary. She slide through the window with ease, "Thanks." She whispered to Taki as he helped her in. She put her feet on the floor and looked around.
A sudden fear settled in her stomach followed by butterflies in her stomach, "Did anyone all the sudden get cold?" She asked in a whisper. Perhaps her mind was plying tricks on her. This was going to give her nightmares. Izzy went to stand near Taki and Sid. She eyed the girl Fallon when she introduced herself, "Hey. I know you...you go to Gould...actually I think we all go to Gould, right...." She eyed the group. And unless someone transfered to Silver then they all went to Gould. Then again she did not know everyone in the group. She knew Sid and Taki....the others escaped her, but she knew Thad and Fallon o be Sid's siblings. How could you not. Despite appearance the family resemblance was there.
"I agree. I think someone should tell the story in a creepy voice as we walk to the scene of the accident...any takers." She smiled. This was so creepy, but fun. This was the most daring thing she did. Just wait till she told Eden or Ben...even Jett. Izzy followed behind Taki, because lets face it. She was a big chicken. "I hope you don't mind me hiding behind you." She whispered to Taki.

Ezzie could not stop jumping. She had to quiet herself down. "Me next." She went after Roxy. Ezzie followed in right after and smiled. "I am so glad I did not wear the tutu. I could just imagine it getting caught." She walked over to Roxy and Thad. "Oh I do know Taki I met him under the pier. I danced and he was there." Story of her life. always dancing. "He is a nice guy. I am so excited." Ezzie could not hide her excitement. "So how is everyone doing?" She asked in a soft voice.
She heard Fallon talk about possession. "Do not look at me. I do not want to be possessed. I vote Sid or you gets possessed. Then you can go back home and freak your step mother out. Maybe she will run for the hills." Ezzie laughed as she walked with her friends. She followed the boys. "Did anyone bring a camera? This is so picture worthy."
Ezzie had a bounce in her step as she walked. "did you know that a haunted room of a hotel is the most popular room in the hotel. People actually go to haunted hotels just to stay in a haunted room. It is really fascinating. " She had done lots of reading to prepare for this. She was that excited. "This is so worth getting grounded for. " She said to everyone. "My parents said I was not allowed out because I live in Compton which is where that gang activity is located. I don't see how it affects me, but apparent Asians and Hispanics are in danger. Go figure. But that will not stop me." Ezzie did not really believe she was in any danger actually.

"I do not mind you hiding behind me, Izzy-chan," Takumi whispered back. "But I in turn will be hiding behind Vic," he added with a wink. He wasn't even the slightest bit scared but he wasn't dumb enough to believe that would last the entire way through the night. Someone was sure to start playing jokes if nothing supernatural surfaced,. That said, the jokester might well end up being Taki himself!
"If you do get possessed I hope you will not react like that girl in the Exorcist. I have my best hoodie on!" He laughed as he spoke but quickly spun to face Thad, flashlight held upright beneath his chin to illuminate his face in what could only be termed a startling manner.
"WOO!" he hissed, adding a poke to the front of Thad's shoulder... just in case he really HAD scared the kid.
"We will make sure you get home safely, Ezzie," he promised. He knew how upset she was over the attacks as she'd told him of them on the beach when they'd first met.
"As for what happened... it seems we may have two different ghosts here. I know the story of one but Vic is the best one to tell of the other. She is called the Lady of the Light... According to the tour guide, after the 2nd World War, the endlessly rotating beam became an annoyance to local residents and an outright danger to motorists on cliff road. Keepers coated the inside of the inland facing windows with a coat of white paint to end the flash of the beacon on peninsula bedroom walls. That is when the Lady of the Light first appeared. In the dim light through the painted windows, some saw the shape of a tall serene woman in a flowing gown who would slowly pace the tower's walkway."
He paused in what he felt would be taken as a dramatic manner (and had been meant as such).
"Some said she was the ghost of the first lighthouse keeper's wife who stumbled from the edge of a cliff one foggy night. Others say she waits for the return of a lover lost at sea, while still others think she is the shade of a heartbroken woman who threw herself from the cliffs when she found herself abandoned by her intended. Whoever she is... she is sure to visit us tonight... "

"Yeah, nice to meet you too," Roxy said when the older boy had introduced himself. She'd seen him around the halls at school before but Roxy was far from knowing who all of the students at school were. Aside from being a lowly freshman, she also wasn't exactly one of the popular kids so although she could be quite loud and boisterous at times she was far from being someone who knew everyone.
Roxy smiled and grabbed Ezzie's arm with her free hand as her friend climbed in behind her. "I agree," she whispered, "I'm not getting possessed either," she whispered, "unless its fake to freak Thad out," she teased, sticking out her tongue.
She knew the ghost story but she wasn't sure she knew it well enough to tell it to the whole group. She was pretty sure she'd mess up or leave something out by mistake. She was glad when the older boy, Taki told it. It seemed like he was the expert on this stuff anyway. Roxy knew that she certainly hadn't paid attention to this stuff before. It was kind of fun though...maybe she'd start.
"Oooooooooooo" Roxy said in a low creepy voice once he'd finished, adding to the whole eeriness of it all, until she let out a giggle. "Sorry," she said, "couldn't help myself...I'll be quiet now--we do need to be quiet for her to show up, right? Or do we want her to hear us?" She really had no idea how any of this worked.
