Hello,
I'm new to the group. Karen told me about you guys, she sent me the link, so I thought I'd check it out and it seems like a very interesting group. She also told me you'd offer support for the proboard dummies such as myself, so I was thrilled to fill out the application form.
I usually play the same amount of guys and girls, but since I'm just starting here, I thought I'd submit one first and then, if everything goes nicely, go adding others. So this is my initial character. I'm obviously open to suggestion, so contact me if you'd like anything changed.
Name: Sadie Greene
Nickname: Sadie
Age: 16
Birthday: October 14
Place of birth: Washington DC
Grade: Junior
Appearance:
With long light brown hair and crystal clear blue eyes against a pale skin, Sadie has a sweet innocent appearance that earns her the so commonly attributed girl next door comparison. She has a charming smile that's easy to fall in love with and her good girl attitude makes it hard to see her as competition in the 'boy department'.
Sadie doesn't follow fashion trends and is usually seen wearing girly clothes as long as they're comfortable. Her safe choice usually consists of a knee-length skirt and high heel boots, with a matching top, neutral colors. She rarely uses jewelry and the make-up usually is limited to eye-liner and a discreet colored lipstick.
Personality:
Daughter of a high classed politician, Sadie was educated to follow her mothers footsteps and marry rich. Most of her life, she did exactly what was expected of her, choosing to travel the path of least resistance simply because it was all she knew. When her brother got deployed, Sadie's life changed dramatically. She no longer saw the world as black & white as her parents had taught her to. It left Sadie with several doubts regarding her comfortable lifestyle and the future that awaited her. She felt like there was so much happening around her and the fact that she had been sheltered from it all left her feeling alone and confused.
She joined anti-war protests and made sure everyone, including her father, knew she was against the current war, which pretty much stirred the perfect family dynamics her father was eager to maintain. Trying to avoid major fall outs with the press and the Republican party, Mr Greene obliged his daughter's request to transfer to a further high school. It suited both, since Sadie wasn't backing out of her new-found beliefs.
Upon meeting Sadie, people still see that innocent girl from back in the days, but also a mature young woman, who stands by her strong beliefs and isn't willing to compromise easily. She's determined to bring her brother back safely while struggling with the fact that some, like her own father, accuse her of not being supportive by joining such protests. She's a good student, very driven, and wants to be a journalist major.
Town area: Riverside (3737 Brookoak St.) - looking for a roomie
Job: Wondering if Borders' hiring. Would be a good workplace for Sadie..
Transportation: 2009 Audi A3
Family background:
Kevin Greene - Sadie's father is a Republican senator from Texas and he's pretty much the exact description of what the job requires. He's been in the political arena for over 15 years, living in Washington DC right after Justin's birth. He's been a big influence in the family dynamic and Sadie partially blames him for her brother's enlistment and posterior deployment. They've never been close, but her recent activities seemed to distance them even further and Sadie believes the no turning point has been crossed for the two of them.
Abby Greene - Sadie's mother aspired to be a MD and was actually going through medical school when she met Kevin. The result of their relationship was Abby's pregnancy and consequent drop out from college life. She seems satisfied playing the Senator's wife role, even though Sadie thinks she's actually unhappy most of the time. Their relationship isn't as deep as you'd expect from a mother/daughter relationship, but isn't nearly as superficial as the one she has (or lacks) with her father.
Justin Greene - Sadie's 4 years older brother was quite the athlete back in the days. Quarterback for his college football team, Justin was every inch of the typical American, until he decided to enlist. It wasn't a decision he took lightly, he figured it was just the patriotic thing to do. He's always been a team player and has that so needed by the army sense of wanting to be part of something greater than himself. Before leaving, he shared with Sadie the typical older brother protective relationship and they were very close, despite the age difference.
Class Schedule:

How long hás she been attending Silver? She joined in last year as a sophomore.
After school Activities: Drama, Debate Team, Newspaper, International Club, Film Club, Literature Club, Writer's Workshop
Likes:
Aspiring to be a journalist, Sadie loves to read and write. She's also an over achiever, so she'll take as much extracurricular activity as possible, joining several of those at the beginning of each year. She's drawn to people who like to express their opinions as much as she does and debating her own point of view against someone else's is one of her favorite activities.
She enjoys social life as much as she enjoys doing different stuff. The whole curiosity so needed to became a successful journalist runs through her vein and every now and again she could get in trouble due to it. She's very into new experiences.
Dislikes:
Sadie can't stand arrogant people, especially girls. There's something that just draws her to the bad boy type and even though she hates that about herself, she can't seem to control it either. She also avoids the superficial type and would rather hang out with people she judges to be interesting. She can come off as slightly judgemental because of that at times.
Other Information: Friends, enemies, boyfriends and exes to be added after connections have been established. Open to almost anything...
Celebrity used: Alexis Bledel

Change is never easy, but most of the time, when it takes place, it's quite necessary. Nobody knew this better than Sadie Greene. Her life had been graciously laid out for her from the moment she was born and most of the time Sadie was glad to grow up in such environment. But then the big change happened and as previously mentioned, it brought confused feelings for quite awhile, but the final result was a very welcomed transformation. Sadie was no longer that girl from the earlier years...
This new version of herself was who you could see walking around campus everyday, observing people as if she was looking for the next big thing... When she's not bluntly recruiting people for her anti-war protests. A girl with a cause might be the correct description. But the truth was Sadie was happy to experience high school life away from her parents, she just wanted it to mean something as well, to make a difference somehow and that's why she had joined the newspaper. There's not much changing you can actually do while in high school so she figured that would one way to go about it... Print her ideas for others to read.
She pushed the door to the newsroom open with her body, balancing her books and a cardboard box full of coffee cups in her hands. This was one of her favorite places ever and every time she walked in, she felt at home.
"Hey guys" Sadie greeted the already present group of writers with a smile. She handed a cup of coffee to each of them before heading to her small desk, located at one of the remote corners of the spacious room. She sat down behind the computer screen, eager to start yet another day of... "What the heck?" she inquired, much of that initial positive attitude vanishing as the screen faded to black without any previous warning. "Perfect" she mumbled, realising the power had been the guilty party as immediate reactions of protests were heard from all across the room.
