She was back! Colby still couldn't beleive it, it was as if someone had answered his prayer. And as far as he knew Quenten hadn't caught wind of it yet, and he wanted to keep it that way, he lost her once it wouldn't happen again.
He strolled down the halls of Gould, on his phone making sure everything would be as romantic as they could get without crossing barriers just yet. Restaurant reservations were made for seven, his suit was laid out at home ready for the night, flowers were ordered, yes getting two dozen long stemmed roses was expensive but then having Cat back in his life was worth it.
He did worry though that the man he hated the most would be up to his old tricks again. This time if Quenten even laid an eye on her, he'd...let's just say the scene would look like a scene from a horror movie.
As he approached his locker, he was making mental notes if there was anything he needed to be done before the night should hit.
Then it hit him like a ton of bricks.
No, not an idea but someone's locker door. He checked his nose to make sure it wasn't bleeding. "Who opens the door this far?"

Sunar was buried in his locker, trying to retrieve his colored pencils. He had accidently dropped the box into his locker upside down, and they had all spilled out. He had most of them, he could tell, because his box was almost full again. Almost, but not quite. But his search was interrupted by a loud, irate voice above him.
"Sorry?" He queried, glancing up to see who was speaking. "Oh, hey, Colby, didn't see you there, sorry, you okay?." He did not get up, but continued scouring the bottom of his locker for his errant pencils. "Isn't Valentine's Day the best? Everyone is so happy and you can eat as much chocolate as you want and nobody says anything and everyone all wears red so it looks like we're all a bunch of...of....Russian Comrades or something and the happy people. I like happy people."
Not that he had a girlfriend, and the last date he had been on had been the impromptu one with the girl from the supermarket, but he loved to see everyone else smiling. Okay, maybe not everyone was smiling, some people were very obviously feeling left out, and that was just too bad. He wished he could make all of them feel special, but of course that was not possible.
"Daja keeps going on and on about Mohinder, too bad he isn't here, could get her out of the house so I wouldn't have to hear about it." He laughed. That wasn't strictly true, that Daja talked too much about Mohinder. She never said much at home largely because Sunar talked far, far too much.

His nose wasn't bleeding, which was good. The last thing he needed was to pick up Cat with a giant bandage across his nose. "I'm fine, I just don't expect to walk into locker doors." He said as he peeked over the door to see Sunar rummaging around.
"Today is extra special for me, my first Valentine's Day with my girlfriend who is my ex but...you get the idea. I hope." He grinned. "I'm just wanting everything to be perfect." He nodded. "This ranks up there with Christmas when it comes to candy, Halloween a good close second. Only difference I see is that everything sky rockets in price then a few days later comes down to its normal value, but then they know people want the best for whom ever they're buying it for, and its worth it."
"When you have someone special to talk about, you can't help but to carry on about them," he gave a slight look to Sunar. "Once it happens to you, you'll understand." It was the truth, he used to carry on about Cat when they had first met and even today still talked about her to anyone who'd listen.

"Maybe so," Sunar waved away any thoughts of meeting someone. The way his parents were, they were probably secretly arranging a fiance for him right this minute. And he probably would talk about her to everyone he met -- about how this whole arranged marriage thing was entirely against his wishes. Not that he would actually have the guts to go against his parents when it came down to it, but he would talk. And talk. And talk.
"But she shouldn't feel that way, I mean, she's never even met him. They just write. It's wierd. I mean, sure it worked for the parents, but they at least met one another before they got hitched. I think."
His parents marriage had been arranged, too, and they loved one another, but he couldn't quite understand why Daja would have accepted so readily without even meeting the man in question. If she had met him and decided she liked him, that would have been one thing, but she had never even considered asking to meet him first.
"I mean, if my parents pick a wife for me I want to meet her before okaying it, you know? She thinks he is the greatest thing ever, though, it's disgusting!" He laughed.
"Congratulations?" Sunar offered, not entirely sure if it was actually a good thing to get back together with someone once you had broken up with them. "I hope your Valentine's Day is perfect, then. Can't have things going wrong for the...the ex-ex-girlfriend." He paused a moment, thinking, "I didn't know you dated anyone other than Cat." He admitted, wondering who this not so former girlfriend was. It couldn't be Catalina, because she had moved not so long ago. If Colby had dated another girl before her then he didn't know about it.
ooc: I just realized that today (v-day) is Colby's bday...HAPPY BIRTHDAY COLBY! Also, I am assuming it would be more or less common knowledge that Cat and Colby were an item at one point? Otherwise I will revise my post!

"Sounds like its tradition in your family, its something you have to admire even its something that doesn't appeal to you." It made sense to him, sometimes ideas from the old country didn't translate well to living in America. He couldn't even think of what it would be like to be given a permanet blind date. "Well though she might be smarter than you're giving her credit for, if the marriage doesn't work she can blame the folks." "When we broke up it was over the tattoo, and I just never forgot about Cat. When I had heard what happened to her, a part of me just hurt deeply." The fact the break up happened before her rape just bothered the hell out of him. "But main thing is Cat is back and this time nothing will come between us." He was bound determined to see to it that anyone Cat wasn't comfortable around wouldn't get within ten feet of her. "Cat has been and always will be the girl for me, I couldn't even look at anyone else while we were seperated." "I just want tonight to be perfect for her, sort of a welcome back/I missed you/Happy Valentine's Day/happy birthday to me celebration." (ooc: its all good to me)

Sunar made a face at the thought that Daja might be at all as devious as Colby was suggesting. She was very attached to tradition and not just because it pleased their parents. She actually really loved all the traditions. He didn't dislike the traditions, but they weren't important to him like they were to his sister. He looked to the future and to possibilities, she looked to the past and former glories.
"Tattoos would be all kinds of awesome," Sunar commented, "Don't think the parents would be real thrilled with it, though, no way I could get their permission. Two more years, then....then I may decide they aren't cool anymore, Iunno." He shrugged, shoving the last of his color pencils into their box, "Can't believe she would break up with you over something like that, I mean, that's not such a big deal, is it? Everyone has them. Eerr, I mean, everyone who's old enough or can get permission or whatever."
He had never really known Cat, she was always the quiet girl in the corner reading, but he had heard rumors. They weren't pleasant, and he wasn't sure how much to believe. "Yeah, didn't she go with that guy after you broke up, the one that got kicked out, what was his name, Quincy or something? The kind of creepy guy?" He hadn't ever really encountered Quenten, either, for which he was grateful. There were rumors that the older boy got into fights and was a first class bully to the school nerds.
"I didn't know today was your birthday!" The Hindi boy marveled, "That would explain people calling you Valentine. And here I thought they were commenting on your seduction skills or something. I guess that is a good present, getting the girl back and all."
